Haven't been to a restaurant in Barrie for a long time. Thinking at least a decade since the last time and maybe a decade before that. As a person who likes to frequent establishments about once to twice per week, I really don't have any negative things to say about my outing at St. Louis on Dunlop! The menu was interesting and had some fun things to offer, I'd like to try some of the seasonal items while they are available. Service was well above par! Fiona, our server, was right on top of things, almost supernaturally so. She was very helpful, and always showed up just before you would ever want anything. The worst St. Louis I've been too. I only put one star for the patio. Otherwise, the customer service is shit: too much attitude. Wait time for poutine (not kidding): 1-2h of your life just waisted. I've been to the place multiple times and hoped that they will appreciate it and won't be that long ... Btw the food is raw as well so I'm not sure what the Chef is doing if I would be the owner I would care about this stuff but I guess he or she doesn't ... My bro-in-law really likes it here... big sigh... I dunno ... I've been a few times... the latest being last night. Atmosphere seems tired, but if you like tv's - I think they have about 20 in a 900 sq foot space. Seemed... sticky.... y'know like if you touch something, you're not sure if you should Purel after each contact? (table, menu, chair). esp when your gonna eat finger food... hmmm.... I'm glad the wings are crisp, and not soggy....but the bite of ribs I tasted from my fellow diner were really overly mesquite-ey ... like "add liquid smoke" mesquite, and no rub? seriously? ... secretly glad I didn't order those. No offense, but Swiss Chalet prob has better ribs now that they've updated them if you like sweet ribs. Try Baton Rouge if you like mequite-ey ones. Sweet potato fries were a'ight although Perkins of all places probably does better on the sweet potato fries... Definitely not a fan of the "salmon coloured sauce" - shall we call it - (I thought of a few less appetizing names that are similar to v...t or p.k.) that comes with it... and if a chick is sayin' that? you gotta wonder... All said n done $27 bucks for 2 sodas 1 lb slightly overcooked wings and 1/2 a basket mediocre sweet potato fries crammed in beside the wings seemed steep... in addition to the unapproving grimaces and cool reception from the waitress when she didn't think we ordered enough food... sorry, not all of us DRINK beer... but use it in cooking....(or on our hair to make it soft) Not to mention she told our fellow diners they were "wrong" when they thought they had remembered a particularly lovely white chocolate Lindt dessert... how about she suggest that SHE didn't remember that dessert being on the menu for her 5 year duration there. (When the diners had been going there almost weekly since it opened) ... I hear the game show buzzer now.... AAAIINNT... "that was not easy" LOL... oy vey The Thai sauce was pretty good on the wings, so for crisp factor and sweet thai flavour it might have got a 4*'s but the sticky and pricey-for-what-u-get factor brought it back down to 3. Maybe I should give it 2 for the snotty waitress... (maybe she was having a bad day, although, hey lady don't be crabby on valentines week, y'know?) ...but back up to 3 for the dining company - and therefore overall good experience... plus a story. So I do enjoy the food and service at St. Louis Barrie, but often when it comes to the cooks they are just sloppy and don't care. today I orders 15 bonless wings and what I got was 9 boneless wings and 6 pieces of deep fried breading. This was at dunlop location. I wish I could post a picture of this Disappointment. Also yesterday I went in to the location on veterans drive, I asked for and order of boneless wings with the sauce on the side. When I got my order i Checked it out and I found wings covered is sauce on the bottom and on top they were dry like I asked. so the cook covered my wings in sauce ( not what I asked for ) he then noticed his mistake and tried to cover it up by taking away some sauced wings from the top and adding dry ones. it seems every time I go there the cooks disrespect me and treat me like I am stupid. I understand that these cooks are probably 18-22 Years old getting paid minimum wage but that is not an excuse to be lazy and disrespectful. I pay for your over priced food and I expect to get exactly what I order. so if you are going to visit these locations in Barrie ON make sure when you get your food it is made how you ask. 89% of The time it is not and you will have to get it re made or get your money back. read more

Went to this place because we saw an ad for all you can eat boneless wings for 16.99. Wow what a complete waste of time this was. We arrived at 545 pm and the three of us ordered a beer each. Sweet, no issue, beer arrived. We each ordered our first pound of wings. We sat, and sat, and sat, and sat some more. Finished our drinks, still no food. This is almost AN HOUR LATER. Bartender came back and forth spouting excuses as to why our food wasn't ready, but reassured us that "ours was next." The place was practically full, we saw food come out of the kitchen twice. (We had direct line of sight to the kitchen.) As we were leaving the couple beside us mentioned they had been waiting since 5 pm. It was now past 645 and they had gotten their pound of wings 10 minutes ago. The three of us stood up, motioned to the bartender we wanted our bill for the beer we ordered. I'm pretty sure the planet earth was made in less time than it took to make 3 lbs of wings and some fries. Never again will I visit this dump. Absolute waste of over an hour. You own a RESTAURANT. This place has its head way up its a$$. I thought it funny when we were leaving, and the bartender asked if we wanted free wing coupons. We all replied in unison, "No." Which is exactly the answer I would say if I would go back to this "Restaurant." I have never had to walk out on a restaurant before. So we went to St Louis tonight. Total 6 patrons. Server was meh... No welcome, no greeting. We asked for 3 separate bills in advance of ordering (couples) the food took an hour and 15 minutes. We were one of 3 tables total. My brother ordered a started... It came the same time as his meal an hour and fifteen after we ordered. We wanted more drinks, the server never checked on us, she chatted the bartender all night... our food came out really staggered (we didn't eat together whatsoever) The food was basic & my brother & mother who ordered the same thing had totally different looking plates... My brothers wings were under!!! Mom & Brother had different sauces even though they ordered the same... The server did not smile once, until she gave us bills for our slow and barely passable food. Without notice she automatically charged gratuity... 20%. Her service was dismal, and once half of us paid, and begrudgingly tipped above what we thought was the food and drink cost only we figured out she auto-tipped us... We immediately made her aware of this mistake... She laughed!?!? This was also the only time she smiled all night..."Sorry, I didn't know I automatically added the tip, but it already went through, Thanks" this nightmare server ripped us off, and laughed about it. had a table for three. nice server, brought our drinks right away. ordered a veggie burger and the guys ordered wings. waited about 40 minutes (understandable, it was busy) and was informed that they actually didn't have any veggie burgers in stock. the waitress was super sweet to us, it's not her fault, but i wish there was better communication between service and kitchen so we didn't have to leave hungry. read more
