It was a beautiful table set with a very eclectic mix of dinnerware. Really cute. The tasting consisted of two appetizers, two salads, two entrees and two sides. Everything that we tasted was delicious. goat cheese and duxelles on toast, shrimp cocktail, chicken piccata, beef tenderloin, pasta with green peas and dill, green beans, mashed potatoes and wine. The chef who prepared the food brought it out and explained it all to us. Very impressive. The menu has a large variety of choices. If you are planning a wedding, the space includes a chapel, bride and groom dressing areas and a lounge upstairs. It is a very cool space. The people were super nice and explained everything to us. What a nice evening. Nestled in the cute Holly Hills neighborhood. I highly recommend!

I say this because the restaurant doesn't have the largest sign in front, and it's only open on Sundays from 9am-2pm. But when you finally visit, well, your taste buds will thank you. I've heard of Seed Sprout Spoon here and there but had never thought of visiting. My spouse and I were craving brunch one day (actually, we crave brunch everyday), so I started doing what I normally do, scroll through Yelp. Seed Sprout Spoon came up, and I looked more into it and realized it was only open on Sundays from 9am-2pm. Wait... it is Sunday and it's before 2pm! We can make it! We arrived around noon and the restaurant was quite busy. We ended up sharing a table a few other people, but that didn't bother me. I ordered the Egg in a Hole B.L.T., and my spouse had the quiche. It took quite awhile for our food to come, probably because it was really busy, but when it did, it was well worth the wait! The Egg in a Hole B.L.T. didn't just come with a fried egg. There's a egg IN THE BREAD! On both pieces! That's next level right there. I loved the brioche bread from Companion, with thick tomato slices, Patchwork bacon, and herb mayo. This sandwich was a work of art! If you love brunch, this is a definitely a place you HAVE to checkout! We'll be back to check out the other items!

The wedding I went to there was great, with pretty much no thanks to the venue. The "light show"…read moreduring dancing was awkward at best. The two men's room toilets had no door and no walls, respectively. One lady's room stall had a view into the kitchen. Most glaring, the in-house DJ was awful. Right after the first dance, he decided, without permission or even awareness from the newlyweds, to play some sort of elaborate military tribute. It colored the whole rest of the night, and not in a positive way. During the night, he just looked so upset to be there. At the end of the night, he chimed in to warn drivers away from a certain neighborhood in the area, claiming it was the "Ferguson of South County", a pretty clearly racist statement. If you rent this space, make sure the bathrooms are fixed first, and definitely bring your own DJ.

Attended a friend's wedding reception here, some pros and cons:…read more Pros: * Prices are competitive for venue rental, a DJ and bartender are included in the price * They appear to have no restrictions on external caterers * Far as I could tell, the owner (also the DJ), had everything set up on time, and the venue decor (medieval German kitsch - lots of dark stained wood trim, fake stained glass, and photos of Neuschwanstein) was delightful Cons: * Bathrooms are weird: men's bathroom has two sit-down toilets completely open to the room, one dividing wall but no doors, women's bathroom was 'vaguely creepy' * As the first song after the couple's first dance, DJ/Owner blared an orchestral rendition of 'Dixie' complete with slideshow of Confederate war veterans and climactic unfurling of the (modern) U.S. flag, to 'honor veterans, police and firefighters' - totally lost the room, made a lot of people uncomfortable Bottom line: great for the price, if they made it easier to poop, and picked a less *frightening* song to honor the troops (maybe try Toby Keith or Faith Hill next time?) would be an easy 5-star.

This is a top notch venue, with great service, beautiful grounds, and a lot of interesting things to look at! We had a small party (around 50 people) and all of our guests raved about it. We had a gorgeous afternoon/evening, and our guests were happy to mingle on both the covered deck and the patio, as well as stroll around the grounds and down to the huge lower patio. All of the mentioned places have a beautiful view of the Mississippi and bluffs. The kids at the party LOVED running all around and watching the tugboats and barges on the river. We brought a bunch of things to occupy them and literally got nothing out, as they were happy for the entire 4 hours running around the grounds. The venue provided the set up, linens etc, as well as the bar services. They recommended a caterer, Gregory's Creative Cuisine, which we used and were also thrilled with. They also provided security for parking, as the parking is on the street (though there is a long drive where you can drop off and pick up guests at the door). The security guard was very friendly and helpful. I believe he was an off duty or retired police officer for the city as well. I'm not one to feel nervous in the city but it was a nice touch. As a bonus, the welcoming committee was a quartet of beautiful chicken ladies, which also thrilled the guests! Overall, just a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend this venue for an unforgettable party. I know that the guest of honor and our guests won't forget it any time soon!

I hosted a surprise party here for my husband's birthday, and it went off without a hitch. Adisa and Adnan answered all my questions quickly in the months leading up to the surprise, and because an event was not planned the night beforehand, they even let me come and drop off beverages for chilling. We had Aya Sofia (Mediterranean restaurant in South STL City) cater the party, and they did a fantastic job of coordinating the drop-off and pick-up of their serving ware, and the food was a hit. We had an open self-service bar, which guests appreciated but did get a bit crowded as a lot of people tend to gather near the huge kitchen counter where the bar is located. The facility does have one step inside, but the Atelier 1879 team has made their facility fully accessible with a portable ramp that fits nicely over the step. Adisa and Adnan have thought of everything! Parking was not an issue for our guests. It's a residential neighborhood and is positioned next door to Yemanja Brasil Restaurant (which is delicious!). All in all, I could not have asked for a better venue and experience.
