Someone needs to shake them up and realise they are there to provide a helpful service to the very people who contribute to funding the NHS and creating the jobs they are employed (poorly) to do. I am a newly diagnosed diabetic and it is fair to say that I am struggling in finding my way through this life adjustment. A number of times I have been scoffed at when asking them questions about how things are normally done. one example of many: "what do I do about disposing of my sharps bin?" to be responded "look after it yourself, what makes you think we should do that for you?" It is a shame because the Docs are very friendly and helpful - although a little disconcerting when I went to them with a broken insulin pen to be told that they had no idea what to do, I probably knew more about it then they did ..... I rarely take the time to write such reports, but feel these receptionists really are in the wrong profession. I hear "Grumpy Old Women" is casting in the west end - possibly a more fitting career move??

Also they check up on my asthma, which is really helpful of them, even if they disapprove of my cavalier attitude at times. This isn't a high spec private surgery, but a community NHS doctors, and it's all the better for being so.

I had to see a specialist here today a few months after i wrote this review. the care i received was excellent and the staff i met jolly and helpful. however the toilets in reception were still not up to standard. the disabled one and a cubicle in the ladies were out of order. Out patients 2 and the pharmacy were lovely and clean. There is even a tv in the pharmacy now to pass the time. It is a good hospital but the cleanliness in the loos worry me especially as they have had MRSA outbreaks.

I initially put it down to a typo and asked for it to be corrected in line with the GDPR and GMC guidelines that state records must be accurate an honest. The hospital refused. So a patient's word counts for nothing, if your title is Dr you can falsify patient records and your employer will support you. I find this so insane, Veronica's claim doesn't sound plausible, doesnt have a ring of truth and is just plain unbelievable. She and the hospital know they are putting my health at risk by denying me the care to which I am entitled. I wouldnt care if I wasnt forced to fund this charade; but we pay the salaries of the people who literally hate us and want us dead.

Sat in the Emergency/Urgent care waiting area for four hours before I was told there is no treatment for my symptoms and just sent home. I told the receptionist I was there because I thought I had the flu. I told the healthcare professional that took my temperature and blood pressure that I was there because I thought I had the flu. Neither of them told me that they don't treat my symptoms. It wasn't until I saw a doctor after four hours of waiting that I was told there is nothing to be done about the flu. The doctor was rude, too. I told him I didn't go to class because I didn't want to get anyone sick. He said, "So you came here to get the doctor sick?" THE DOCTOR IS WHO YOU SEE WHEN YOU ARE SICK. THAT IS YOUR JOB. He asked what I ate that day and the judged what I had to eat that day, "It's pretty odd to be eating that" when I'm feeling this way (Ok, so I'll starve myself. Oh wait, already did that in the waiting room). I left with nothing to help me feel better and humiliated enough to want to kill myself :)

The only time I went in, I got dealt with very quick but was annoyed to find my friend had been informed of the details. So someone at the hospital had told her so watch out as confidentiality is not great there and they did not do anything about my complaint. They keep closing departments down in this hospital so might find sooner or later it closes for good, the nearest hospital after this is much better but of course 20 minutes further.
