No place better to be on a Saturday morning than the Capital City Public Market. Currently, as of…read morethe Summer of 2022, the Capital Saturday market is located at the Grove Plaza. The market runs from April-December every Saturday 9:30 am- 1:30 pm. The Grove Plaza is neighbored by the Boise Centre, ICCU Arena, and the BSU downtown campus. I live nearby, so I usually walk but there is both street parking and public garage parking nearby. Here you can find local produce (although, limited if you come later in the day), locally raised meats and fish, ceramics and other handmade products, and ready-made foods. I usually grab a mixed greens salad for $5, which lasts me the whole week. Something about these greens, they do last forever! I had a friend pick me up a bag while I was out of town (yes, I'm that addicted to this salad mix) and he actually bought twice as much as I usually do and they were still nice a crisp 1-2 weeks later! The microgreens here are great, and I love that you can get a mix of different microgreens in one container. There are also a few vendors that sell foods to snack on while you're shopping. My go-to is to grab a cup of coffee that's locally roasted, there's a spot that does have dairy alternatives along with flavored syrups that I love. The dumplings with the spicy momo sauce are the highlight of my Saturdays whenever I come here. If you're in Boise on a Saturday in April-Dec the Capital City Market is the spot to be. Highly recommend it, it's a Boise gem! Never too crowded but still a great spot to people and dog watch (Yes, dogs are allowed at this market)!!

We had a small group at noon on March 22, 2026 and Rob was great about answering our many questions and curiosities! His next tour at 1:30pm was huge so we were lucky to have a more intimate gathering! Now I need to figure out a reason to have a party there and rent the space. So cool.

It was designed by NY architects & opened in 1925. However it was closed when we arrived Monday at 10:30 we came back in the afternoon and walked inside. We took the elevator up to the bell tower for city views. The Great Hall is a 3,542-sq ft multi-story atrium that once was the stations waiting room. Ten original benches line the walls of the Great Hall holding 300 standing & 165 seated people.. hours are limited because this venue is rented out The original 1925 Barkalow Brothers Newsstand is featured on the west wall. The newsstand has been slightly restored but remains in its' original form. This area is great for a buffet or display. The Great Halls' ceiling is lined with Spanish trusses, each imprinted with antique locomotives. The famous Platt Gardens are here.

I visited Boise ID with friends, and the Ann Frank museum was on our list to check out…read more Unfortunately, we could not fit it in. On Sunday, before the farewell brunch we were attending, we stopped by. It's a very beautiful and calm. We walked around the grounds and drank up the beauty and words of wisdom. We did not get to check out the inside of the museum since it was closed. If I make it back to Boise, I will make it a priority to visit the museum when it's open!

Some people left their trash around and I don't love that for us, it was easy to pickup with trash cans near by-but otherwise, it was a lovely, peaceful, and calm place. It was so nice and cool on a long hot walk along the green belt and more work seems to be happening to expand it! Worth the visit!

This 19x50 piece of art can be found on your walk downtown or you can drive specifically to it at the corner of Front Street & Capitol Blvd. Artist Alison Sky made it in 1999 as a celebration of water. It once had a water feature but due to problems maintaining it that part was dismantled and much later LED lights were added. It is said it was inspired by water & canals that were once under the city. So interesting and fun. This local flavor is a great see in the city

This was my first Mother's Day, so we did have my two month old daughter with us. Since we had her with us, I had to leave the restaurant a few times to calm fussiness and feed her. The staff was very accommodating to this and there were several comfortable spaces to take her out of the restaurant quickly. My husband and I both ordered a glass of wine, the best one being Salcheto Vino Nobile di Montepulciano 2019. Some of the best wine I've had in a while. As for food we ordered the Thomas Cattle Co. Ribeye and Wagyu Flatiron. Both were delicious, but the Wagyu Flatiron blew our socks off. I have been to several high price steakhouses in Vegas and this was easily the best steak I've ever had. I wonder why people review cities on Yelp unless they are terrible and should be avoided at all costs, like Vale. I give Fruitland five stars because if the criteria are that a Fruitland is a land that produces fruit, then this one meets all expectations. After all, it is both fruit-bearing land and a city.

Some Fast Food Joints and the typical businesses you would find near a mall. Nothing extraordinary. Not much excitement. Just another rural town, with the exception that my Grand Babies live here now. My Daughter In-law and her guy call this place home. It makes her happy so, I'll hold my tongue. Ish. I find myself in Idaho more as the years go by. There is a ton of potential for growth and commerce. I hope the future of Fruitland is brighter than love.

Not sure if it's man made or natural formation but at least most of it's natural cuz it's rock. My friends who are more familiar with rural southwest Caldwell/ Marsing took us to hike there. It's rugged terrain and you'll need water, sunscreen, and stable footwear that allows you stable footing and is only advisable the rare times of the year when it's not 95°F, 20°F, muddy/rainy recently or even 3 weeks ago if there was enough rain, snowy/icy, recently melting snow and ice to form the muddiness, you get it I hope. Gorgeous view of the Marsing and Caldwell farm lands and mountains (Owyhees?) over into Oregon, toward and past Jordan, OR.
