Our student showed key areas on campus while enthusiastically interjecting his personal stories about his experiences on campus. This is a compact, medium-sized university that seems to have a lot of diversity. Students/staff need a key card to get into the buildings on campus. The buildings are beautiful and there is green space throughout. It was a good first impression.

What I believe sets Drexel's EMT program apart from all others is simply the passion and dedication Jamie and Bubba possess for educating the next generation of emergency medical providers. Some background, I am the quintessential socially awkward nerd who is afraid to touch a patient but can tell you a lot about Biochemical pathways. As a result, I was quite terrified about not being good enough in terms of communication and being a physician who is more than a nerd. If you work in the medical field, you know that effective communication, with patients and fellow health-care providers, is imperative to good care. But rest assured, I was not to be left hanging. Jamie and Bubba, our main instructors, made sure that all of us not only learned how to be basic EMTs but how to be competent providers. While there is a lot of work to be done, it is designed to give us the most for our time and accelerate us to be our best. The curriculum consists of both lectures and labs that are designed to teach us the roles of an EMT and the physical and communication skills that are expected of us. There are a variety of labs from a pig lab (in which we explore the lung and heart anatomy of a pig) to a Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) day in which we utilize all our skills in a simulated environment. While time consuming, these labs and labs in which we practice our skills are designed to train us in becoming proficient providers. In addition to a well-designed and implemented curriculum, Jamie and Bubba are ALWAYS there to address your concerns. Because there are numerous labs, some may have time conflicts, but Jamie is always willing to work with you to ensure that you get the best education that you can. They are highly flexible because their goal is to create the best EMTs/health-care providers, and for good reason- we represent the institution when we practice. There is NO room for sub-par work! I highly recommend this program for anyone interested in becoming an EMT and anyone who is interested in becoming a health-care provider in general. These skills that are taught are the FOUNDATIONS to becoming competent health-care provider and can easily distinguish the "good" providers from the excellent. TLDR: Excellent program with phenomenal instructors who have high standards for their students. There's a lot of work but you'll learn a lot and become a better health-care provider because of it. The climbing part can be a little stressful if you have adventures little ones but it's designed for them to navigate correctly with parental support. It was a great time to connect with other parents and consume beverages as our kids run wild. There is a separate room for the birthday food which we used as a wind down, pictures, and celebrating. Now that I'm aware of this space, will definitely use it on a day for my little one to run wild as others have mentioned. When I graduated from high school I went directly to Temple. I did not enjoy the experience. The professors were not necessarily mean, but they were not helpful. I became pregnant during this time and made sure to keep my professors updated about this as I was a high risk pregnancy and knew that I may miss some classes. When I sent an e-mail saying that I would not be in a lecture for a Dr.'s appointment one responded well MR. Irvin, you will be marked absent and it will count against your grade. He had no idea who I was. I had trouble with financial aid and academic advisers and rude staff...and Temple campus area is where my family is from and the students around their treat the neighborhood like trash. All this to say, that negativity can be found anywhere and is based off of perception and personal experience. That being said, I graduated from CCP with my associates degree in nursing in 2016. Firstly, the n-clex pass rate for my class was in the high 80% if not low 90% last time I checked which is impressive for any institution. I took almost all of my pre-recs at West Philly campus which was very convenient as it is close to my house and I was able to not only take my classes but speak to the financial aid adviser and academic counselor there regularly...like stalked them. I learned a massive amount of information in the nursing program and feel confident in the positions that I've held in my nursing career so far, and not even because I think I know everything but because I feel like I have the tools to figure things out. And yea, I ran into rude financial aid people and rude professors...but I ran into way more not rude people and because I think that the students at CCP are generally more...shall I say, well rounded?...i definitely didn't run into the same social issues that I ran into at Temple. Now I am getting my Bachelors in Nursing from West Chester and guess what? There have been rude nasty people and annoying professors. Matter of fact I had to report a professor for being a bit inappropriate which is something that I never had to do at CCP or Temple. BUT there's more good than bad and I'm going to get my degree and no financial aid rep with a nasty tude is going to stop me. I'm giving CCP a 4/5 because one time I didn't like how my breakfast sandwich turned out.

She even helped me with an outside project on a day of pure stress and desperation. I wouldn't have "MADE" it without her. Rachel was in and out, and it was lovely to talk to her about her new non-profit initiative as well as to hear her passion for sewing cool things. My favorite part of the class was sewing the invisible zipper. I also liked the regular zipper. I'm so dang proud of the zippers.

Great for date night, girls night out, family time or honestly anything!…read more I did the pottery date night class and it was so awesome! It starts out with a small cocktail hour (no alcohol, other beverages and finger foods) in the clay studio gift shop. You get some time to look some cool stuff on display and can purchase them too! The actual pottery making was around 90mins, 60mins on the wheel and about 30mins to glaze the piece. There is one main instructor and a few assistant instructors that walk around and help you out. You watch a demo first and then get hands on at making your own bowl! The instructors are really patient and if you mess up, they'll hand you another ball of clay. I screwed up many of my pieces and got super embarrassed but they'd joke and make it fun. You get to pick 2 pieces to keep out of all the ones you make during the 60mins. I ended up with 2 small succulent pots, super excited to put my plants in! The glazing is pretty simple. There are a handful of basic colors to choose from and you just paint them on. Afterwards the studio will fire the pieces and then ship then to an address you designate. We got ours a little earlier than 2weeks so it was a nice surprise! I would definitely go to another session again and may even commit to the longer semester classes...just need to free up time . If you're considering this, definitely do it!
