Been a registered nurse for 15 years and this is one of the best companies I have worked for they truly care about patience as a nurse. We are constantly overworked understaffed and rushed in corporate America, but with this nonprofit organization, they give me the time to take care of all of my patience. They have a foundation called gestures of grace in this foundation assisted me in helping families face eviction put toilets for safety issues and provide gift cards to families in need of food. This is truly a wonderful company and if you're considering your family for Hospice or palliative care, there is a reason Hospice of Michigan is number one they truly work from the heart.

My father heard that comment as she spoke it in the same room that he was in. He called me very upset and understandably so. What type of nurse does this ?!? TERRIBLE!! This same nurse practitioner, after cleaning my dad's ears out stated that it was not her job to do that and furthermore, doesn't get paid to do that. I was appalled to hear this! Their nurses, regular and on-call are rude and inconsiderate (Natalie) and quite frankly, should not be hospice nurses. We are talking about the end of someone's life !! Where is the kindness and consideration for human dignity? This company is terrible !! I could go on... This company took my first review down so I am posting it again! Also when they discharged my father from hospice, they discharged before they secured my father another bed and told my mother that it was her responsibility to call around and find another bed . This is the MSW's job not the hospice family''a. Just all around terrible care. They always acted like it was a chore to come out because my dad lived on the outskirts of their service area. There is a staff member at the Angela Waterford hospice facility who is horrible. The first night I…read morearrived after-hours, frazzled and heart beating in my chest, she coldly opened the doors for me when the automatic opener didn't work, then coldly marched down the long corridors in silence- obviously annoyed that she had to leave her desk. I have caught her gossiping negatively with other staff members who, though mostly lovely, seem intimidated and unduly influenced by her military style meanness. There is very little family support at the Waterford facility (grief counseling once a month) and adding an unwelcoming, unkind personality to the mix during an already stressful and surreal experience is too much to deal with. There's a reason for the saying ''one bad apple spoils the bunch.'' She seems to be a ringleader... and her energy is a downer.

About 5 weeks ago, we made the decision to put my 94 yr old mother in hospice and her assisted…read moreliving facility recommended Assured. At the time, Mom was terminal but not "actively" dying. We met with a social worker and an RN who explained the services hospice offers. It was the best decision we made for Mom and our family. Every member of mom's care team - Kari (social worker), Nancy (RN), Patrick (LPN), and Janice (aide) were completely hands on. Not only did they offer quality care and loving support to Mom but also to our entire family. My mom passed away 5 days ago in a way that offered a dignified and peaceful passing. Our hospice "family" gave us a gift of quality time with Mom, and we will forever be grateful.

THE WORST! My Aunt was in Hospice care with Assured at her Senior facility. Now it has been a logistic nightmare of hospital and hospice rules and regulations. Finally trying to get my Aunt back to her apartment and Assured has refused to now give her care. I talked to the owner Zahir, and I told him I was confused that they were telling me they would not care for her when they had not even assessed her. (My Aunt was back to herself after being drugged up on Ativan at the hospital for three days) He kept telling me.."My attorney this, my attorney that..." I said, "I do not believe your attorney is the one giving her care and that I cannot believe you would be making decisions for Seniors based things that were not factual, and may I remind you that we would NOT be in this situation if your aide would have not called 911 and we would have treated my Aunt the way that we signed up for..."HOSPICE"!...Do I need to have my attorney contact YOUR attorney?" Zahir said, "Forget it now, we will not reassess your Aunt and we don't want anything to do with you or your Aunt" 'click' Yes, the owner hung up on me because I questioned him on his integrity. A NIGHTMARE! NEVER, ever, EVER use Assured Care. You just do not know what you're getting! Guess what, my attorney WILL be contacting your attorney!
