We went to St. Batholomew Catholic Church and while my husband went to confession. I sat at the entrance seat. I saw lots of people were coming to warship and the church look so beautiful for me. Mable poles and the arc are well made. Believe it or not, when I put on my GPS and bring me to this church. I was confused because there were at least three churches next to each other. Anyway, I kept going and found it. As the area is Asian, I thought this catholic church will be an Asian catholic church but actually, there are more Spanish member and priest.

I was very early and rang the bell for 110-06 turned out it was the church's office. The church staff told me that the main entrance of the church for the wedding ceremony is on Ascan Ave. Also, I asked if my dad can park in the parking lot because it will be difficult to find because we are the strip of Austin Street. My dad waited in the parking lot while I attended my friend's wedding. Why am I giving 3 stars because during the ceremony...all the wedding guests can hear lawn mowing outside of the church grounds. I really hope the videographer can do his magic to remove or cover over that sound. Wow to the person whose phone kept going off then holding a conversation for 5 seconds. You can show some respect for my friends special moment as we witnessed their holy matrimony. I actually had to Google what does receiving a line from the Bride and Groom because this was my very first church wedding ceremony for over a decade. As we hugged the bride + groom + their family then everyone waited outside. Blowing bubbles was the more modern and fun way than throwing rice to congratulate the newlyweds. My former love, disappointedly, refuse to register at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs as members. Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church is located on "Boulevard of Death" and Ascan Avenue is Queens' largest Catholic Cathedral residing one square block. Gorgeous stained glass windows including Rosetta windows adorn the church, and abbey stone arch doors. I would occassionally pop inside for a prayer and seek Holy Water which the grounds are well maintained.

The church itself is restored and quite spacious. The place is clean and doesn't have that oak / mothballs smell that some older churches tend to have. Priests have been good here and its big enough to where there are several priests at a time (at least on weekend mass) that give out communion. The ventilation is great, especially during summer but it can get really chilly in a hurry to where you'll might get goosebumps on your arms. The choir is decent, but they only have those occasionally. Finally, I hate how there is no mass after 12:30PM on Sundays and the fact they never answer their phones on the weekend. Getting mass times is a pain in the neck on Sunday so here they are: 7AM, 8:30AM, 11AM, 12:30PM
