Except for one week at the end of the summer, there are childcare options all year round, including "summer camp" sessions during the summer. "Bank Holidays" like presidents day usually have coverage as well. This school is not "fancy" and its not "new", but it's clean and tidy. We love the older buildings and the warmth that they bring. Mostly, we just love the teachers and how they exemplify the values that we want instilled in our child - kindness, love, hard work, good manners, and more. Can't say enough good things!

I was thoroughly impressed. I'm really just throwing my 2 cents in, because I'm sure I'm not writing anything new. Currently, they have the Wild Kratts exhibition on display. A lot of cool interactive things to learn from. There were definitely plenty of young volunteers; not sure what differentiated them from actual employees. One lady had a corn snake to show and educate on. The dinosaur trail was pretty cool. The concrete pathway could definitely use some repair though, because I can see that as a stumbling/falling hazard for kids, older people, anybody really. The butterfly enclosure is small, but I managed to attract a couple of winged creatures with the nectar stick; the boys did as well. Then there's the historic section - farmhouse, schoolhouse, and barn. The kiddos mined for a gemstone, milked a fake cow, and got to hold a chicken (don't think the hen was too thrilled though), but they're pretty docile. In another building they had a touch-and-feel tank for sea stars and rays, which was really nifty. Although, that always brings back scenes from "Finding Dory". Haha! We got to pet another snake and an Australian walking stick bug (think Indiana Jones and the Temple of Dooooooom!). One tank had a couple of large axolotls. There is just so much to see and take in; it's almost overwhelming. The free lunch for the kids isn't gourmet for sure, but it keeps them fueled up for the latter part of the day. Adults can lunch, too, but make sure you have cash or checks on you; they don't take plastic. There are two playgrounds; one on the dinosaur trail and another pirate-themed one. I can see how you can easily spend a whole day there and get your money's worth. I really want to go to the Hooper Planetarium and participate in Friday Starry Nights one of these days. It may really be worth getting a membership (120 - 1,000 USD). They also host summer camps and I heard that teens (who participate in a camp) can start to become volunteers at the age of 14 (pretty much my 9-year-olds current dream). Spring/summer hours are currently Tuesday - Saturday 10 am - 4 pm, with the exception of Friday evenings from 4:30 - 8:30 pm for aforementioned Starry Nights. They also host other special events throughout the year. The only gripe I had was that one of the restrooms stated that it had a changing table and even though I looked everywhere could not find one, which made it difficult to change my toddler. It wasn't as big as our science museum in Durham but it was still nice. We loved all the hands on exhibits, the cool snakes that were out, and the marine exhibits. It kept our 2 year old, 6 year old, and two teens perfectly happy and busy for a few hours. I wish they opened earlier because with little ones, you can't stay long because they get tired and need naps. Thank you for the wonderful outing! It would be worthwhile for those in Greenville to get the membership because you can use that membership at other science centers around the country. :)

I've gotten 4 emails requesting a review for KRK so here we go. This is going to be a long one, so…read morebuckle up. My toddler attended KRK in Greer from summer 2022 to the beginning of 2024. At first we loved KRK - it was welcoming, clean, had cameras, & the teachers were great with communication. After about a year things started to go downhill. They were holding us to policies that didn't exist & having us come get our son for nonsense issues because they were understaffed. Around that time, 5 teachers plus the kitchen staff had all left & not been replaced, yet they were telling me that there was no issue with ratios due to that...ok. Reasons they sent my son home: wouldn't come off the playground, was laying half on/half off his mat, wouldn't nap, got dirty outside, got a bug bite, had a pimple on his cheek (they called those last two rashes). I ended up losing my job over my child not napping. They were calling me 1-3 times every week to come get him, while still requiring me to pay fulltime. They said he was being disruptive during nap time & that was part of the reason, even though I saw other children on the camera running around & ripping my son's blanket off of him - they were allowed to stay. When I asked why that was, I was told they aren't allowed to discuss other peoples children. A coworker of mine had her kids at the other location of KRK (now nest) and a teacher was fired there for being abusive toward the kids. The teacher was now at my location. When I asked the director about this teacher, I was met with "who told you that?". She said it wasn't true... Turns out it was true but I can't say how I know that. My son was kicked out for biting a kid that punched him in the face. My son turned 3 & was in a room with 2 year olds. Even though all the kids are in the same room, the 3 year olds have different rules. If a 2 year old bites a 3 year old and the 3 year old bites back... The 3 year old will be kicked out, but the 2 year old can stay. I was sent a whole handbook I had never seen or signed off on with the biting rule all the sudden mentioned in there - when I asked other parents if they had seen this version of the handbook, they had not. I was the only one the fake handbook was sent to and I'm positive I didn't sign off on it, even though they tried to gaslight me and tell me I did. I had a version of the handbook from when we started, but this wasn't it. One time I was at an offsite meeting for work and I didn't have my car because we all traveled there together. I got a call requesting I pick up my son because he wouldn't take a nap and I said I wouldn't be able to make it there in the one hour window they give you to pick up your child. I was BERATED and told from here on out I better have my car with me at all times. The director spoke to me like this frequently - like she was in charge of my life. As I see it, I'm paying for a service and providing THEM with their paycheck... not the other way around. They continue to get away with this, though, because waitlists are so long and they know they can replace a child the next day. Ownership shifted from multiple people to one individual and herein lies the negative changes. They also started accepting ABC vouchers, which seems to have changed the way they treat some kids. I know how all this sounds, trust me, but it's true. I've spoken to other parents this has happened to and I know the daycare will respond to this message in attack mode like I see they've done to other reviews but that's fine because this is all facts. Believe the negative reviews guys... go check the abcquality.org website because it doesn't lie (find them under " Upstate Preschool DBA Kids 'R' Kids"). They have high severity issues that they've been caught for and are rated a C. It's sad that the school went so downhill because we loved it at the beginning. Writing all this benefits me in no way personally, but I feel like parents need to see real reviews from real parents to make decisions about where to send their children. Find another facility.

Daily updates through the app were thorough, and on the rare occasion of an incident, I received prompt communication and personal follow-up, which made me feel supported and respected as a parent. Once we finally started working on our own pieces, it felt overcrowded. There were too many people, so not everyone was able to get the help or guidance they needed. The class also felt very rushed. Getting our pieces back took longer than expected, and unfortunately, I was really disappointed with the results. The glaze looked terrible -- the color was inconsistent and uneven. At first, I thought it was just my piece, but everyone in our group had the same issue. My child has done pottery at school before, and their pieces came out beautifully, so I know better results are possible. Overall, it felt like a waste of time in terms of the class itself, but I still enjoyed spending time with my friends.
