In and out within four hours, problem solved and the staff, doctors', nurses communicated with me fully throughout the process and did not leave me guessing. Bravo Medstar St. Mary's Hospital!!!

We received a bill for Almost 8,000.00 for the 15 min visit where we did not use a room or see a Dr. We sat in a chair. Signed some forms and a nurse or tech handed us the script. $7900.00, but minute clinic wouldn't help, our insurance wouldn't help and local pharmacy wouldn't, so at least they helped. The co-pays after deductibles had been paid for, were hundreds of dollars for a couple pills when the normal cost is $9 for 90 days.

Even coming in by ambulance, they put you in waiting room to wait for room which is still minimum of 2 hours. They won't give you a wait time, but may give you a numerical order to be seen. Triage is okay. A nurse comes into the waiting room to get vitals (seems about 5-10 before you are called back to a room). If you ask for pain reducers, expect another 2 hours or to be forgotten. Seems that unless you are dead or unconscious, expect a long, unsatisfactory experience. Although this small hospital is under remodel, it is very unsanitary and literally has bugs crawling around the waiting room. The bed and room is so dirty, you have to worry about more than airborne germs. Disgusted with our experience. It is worth the drive to Calvert for sure!

They helped to get my paperwork for the visit straight. Next Nicole escorted me to my assigned space and worked with me to get the questions on the portal answered. She was energetic, formerly from Compton, MD and most gracious in her work. Tara, who took pictures of my bad shoulder asked me with humor " have you been oystermen tonging for boulders." This shoulder is not in a happy place, but Dr Johnson will cut to the chase She took me back to my assigned space where Dr Johnson met me. He had a trick up his sleeve. He prepped where the shot was going and Said: "Now wiggle the toes on your left foot". Becoming engaged, I made certain they were moving. AND before I knew it the shot was done " because he knew exactly where is should be put! Not to be lengthy but Mike Travis did my hands, Daniel Bauk did my hip, and Colleen worpked on my knee. I went here for a thyroid ultrasound on October 15, 2024 and despite providing my insurance card,…read morethey sent me a bill for $800. After many hours on the phone, I was able to get them to apply my insurance and insurance ended up paying $300. I discovered on November 18, 2025 that they never sent the results of the ultrasound to my doctor. I discovered this a year later because I came here again for an MRI on November 6, 2025 and they never sent those results to my doctor either. They outsource their calls to a call center and the MRI wasn't even scheduled correctly. It was supposed to be with contrast and it was scheduled without contrast, at a time where a doctor wasn't even in the building to do contrast, so the MRI was a complete waste of time. Despite this, they billed my insurance for almost $1200. DO NOT GO HERE FOR RADIOLOGY, it is a scam.
