Most of the time it was PT or OT that ended up wasting part of her therapy time changing her and cleaning it up. Food was only so-so when delivered to the room. Better if you go to the dining hall. PT & OT staff were pretty good. Some better than others. They don't clean the rooms. Trash would stay on the floor for days. Trash cans would be emptied but no new bags inserted. It was the nursing/tech staff that would end up taking out the trash. I didn't see cleaning crew enter patient rooms. The most depressing room I've ever experienced. Pale blue walls with NOTHING on them but the activity calendar taped to the wall across the room. Too far away to read. Medical check-ins were once a week from the NP, Psych, and RT. RT got so mad because the nursing staff were supposed to give mom breathing treatments 4x a day but only gave them when mom asked about them and even then it would be hours afterwards. One tech gave mom the medication vials so she could add it to the machine herself so she wouldn't have to wait on staff. Patients/residents just sitting out in the hallways leaning against the walls or slumped over. With mom's door open I could see other patients whose nurse signal lights were blinking for 2 hours or more. I've never seen my mom so depressed. (Un)Luckily for her some bloodwork revealed she needed rehospitalization. She was able to request a different hospital and then a different rehab facility. She has since made great strides and within two weeks is finally home.

She has been in excruciating pain for 90% of the time and they could care less. The only time the doctor shows up is once a week on Sunday and does not communicate with us. In order to get stronger medication than Tylenol, it takes a doctors order and we've been waiting for 8 hours and still nothing. The other issue is the food. It ranges from "okay" to "unacceptable". For instance, last night we ordered (24 hours in advance), chicken strips, mashed potatoes & gravy, fruit cup. They were out of chicken strips, out of gravy, out of fruit, so they brought her mashed potatoes period!!!! We did ask for something else and they brought soup but WTF!!! I even told them she was in so much pain she wanted to die and all I heard was silence on the other end of the phone. Also, you can not control the temperature room to room, it's building wide and my mom has been freezing the entire time! Do not come here!!! We are working on alternative plans!
