I have been hospitalized on three occasions here. The staff is efficient and caring. My most recent visit was from 1/24/26 through 1/27/26. Aiden and Tiffany, serving in the ER, are outstanding examples of what you can expect in the ER and elsewhere throughout the hospital. Nurses Enrique, Michelle and Makayla Top Notch caregivers on the 4th Floor N Unit. The professional technicians: Richard and Arlene [portable X-Ray team] Mary in the CT Scan area, Austin who conducted my small bowel follow through and WENDY Ultra Sound operator extraordinaire !!! from the Imaging Department cannot be surpassed. One of the housekeeping crew is so sweet! Milinda was super - - dedicated to her work and engaging with those hospitalized. On another note - - the hospital food is VERY good! Kudos to the kitchen crew and Bernadette who delivered my meals. I was particularly impressed with the treatment rendered by Dr. Mattias D'Anna. Dr. Mattias D'Anna is a hospitalist at CenterPoint Medical Center. He has called on me on two of my separate hospitalizations. He's kind, knowledgeable and a wonderful communicator. He has a gift for using layman's terms to explain medical conditions, their impact on my wellness and how best to move forward. I cannot recommend him highly enough. read more

Last night , I took my friend who had a terrible experience. Somebody came with a broken finger around noon and did not hear anything till 15 minutes after midnight and finally got discharged around that time. According to my friend (And somebody else who was there and can back me up on this) The doctors were playing video games and online gambling on the computers instead of doing their job. When she got there, the receptionist In the ER told her to stop being a baby. The nurses were extremely unprofessional and we're not answering any calls or just said we'll get you when we get to you which led to somebody having an accident because he couldn't go to the bathroom. Security eventually did kick my wife and our friend and I who were waiting and not being disruptive at all out for no reason, Eventually, the hospital told her they couldn't do anything and she was so mad she just left and is gonna call a lawyer according to her. She has never lied to me so to be honest I do believe her. Later, I took her to Saint Mary's and guess what? She had to get four stitches in her finger. So now I can see why she's calling A lawyer. Apparently, Online gambling was more important to The ER doctors then actually seeing patients. I feel like This needs to be said. And I can Speak from experience that this is the slowest ER I have ever seen. It could be a minor injury or a major injury and they will get to you when they feel like it. Centerpoint Medical has always been such a great place for my medical treatment and needs. Very nice staff in the emergency department and billing department. If you must stay overnight for treatment and or recovery you wont be disappointed with the food service. Very nice and professional staff members. Spent 6 days inpatient and was discharged with no paperwork or medications to a skilled nursing home. I was discharged from there 3 days later and the nursing home had not received any paperwork from the hospital. Because of this I could not get any medication until 16 hours later. Per nursing home they called numerous times and still didn't get paperwork. I was supposed to be sent to a nursing home that could monitor my lab work daily. They do not do that there. read more

My son in law had a stroke and they left him in a reclining chair for 48 hours with no stroke protocal. they would not clean up his vomit, and the nurses said they had no time to help. without his mom and wife there he probably would have died. No mri no stroke medicine no help. It was even when they finally got him in the room they were not helpful at all. i would highly recommend to go to any other hospital as centerpoint staff and thec way they treat patients is aweful. read more

Went to auxiliary ER on 23rd St for an extreme adverse reaction to medication. I had to do my own intake paperwork. During the exam they discovered my blood pressure was very high. They gave me 7 day prescription at 1/2 the normal beginning dosage then told me to continue the medication I had the bad reaction to. Nurses were nice. Doctor didn't listen to me & dismissed my concerns. They were not helpful. My condition has continued to worsen because I didn't receive the help I sought. An expensive waste of time. ​ read more

I was waiting for my husband as he was having a minor procedure done. They had a wonderful large area to sit in BUT the chairs were cloth and absolutely disgusting!! I don't know who's idea it was to put those in a hospital waiting area but it was a horrible one!! read more

First, everyone I dealt with here were all rude, mean and insensitive. I was in a lethargic state and was being mistreated and talked about. The doctor on duty told me if I don't answer him, he'd leave me laying there in the hallway. This was the most inhumane treatment, especially for a place I had to entrust my life and care to. This mistreatment and indifference started with the local ambulance service all the way to the nurses and Doctors. This means it's a staff of uncaring, maybe even racist healthcare workers that starts at the top and trickles down. This was not even 1 star service. read more

Yesterday and last night was the most horrific experience I have ever had! My oncologist wanted me to go through ER and get a neurosurgeon called in and do emergency surgery on my back. I was treated as a regular ER patient. Slapped an arm band on me and sent me to wait in the lobby. No communication whatsoever, no one knew anything about anything. Stuck me off in a back hall to wait. My husband and I waited 9 hours just to get in an emergency room room. And then it was like what brings you in today? I have already told you multiple times. Then they admitted me, got to my room around 12 am and the nurse wants to admit me to the floor so at 1pm we're going over all these questions and crap that they should have already had. I didn't get any rest, people in and out all night long. Then she comes in this morning to do more lab work and I'm like what for? They already did labs last night? Then the nurses said that well the doctors may make their rounds around 900 or this afternoon. I said to hell with this, we are getting the run around and I'm leaving. I got my things together and found the nurse, signed my papers and got the damn IV out and we left. I will not ever go back there ever again! I will not step foot in that place, even if I'm dying. I do not recommend anyone going there and expecting any kind of care. You will be pushed aside for other people whose stuff isn't even an emergency; they should be going to their regular doctor for it. read more

Horrific ER experience with niece held for psychiatric evaluation. The staff taunted her saying they were taking bets on when she would die and telling her that her pet had been cremated while she was there (I could hear them laughing on the phone call I made). I asked repeatedly to speak with a patient advocate, and did not receive a call back until AFTER they had transported her to a facility in Columbia, MO without even so much as calling me as her emergency contact. When I asked to speak to the head nurse, I was told she was too busy, then the staff would hang up - for THREE entire days. This is the most unprofessional hospital I have ever seen in my 60+ years of life. read more

Nurses and doctors standing around yapping thier mouths while patients wait for hours for care and treatment.

I was admitted through the ER. I was there 28 hours while they were trying to find an available room for me in the same clothes I wore into the ER. I had all my blood tests and CT scans in the same clothes. Had my IVs placed in both arms for bags of fluids for dehydration and for several antibiotics. I was taken to my own room in my same clothes. I asked the floor nurse if I could change into a hospital gown and she said I didn't have to and left the room. I had given the pharmacist a list of my at-home prescriptions for high blood pressure and others while in the ER but was never given ANY. My blood pressure on the monitor was very high and while in my room went up to 204/87. I begged for over 30 hours at that time to be given my blood pressure med but each time was told the doctor had to approve it first! At last a physician not assigned to me strolled past my room and saw my BP on the monitor and came into my room. He said the nurse could at least have given me a therapeutic dose rather than let it rise into the 200s. Within 10 minutes the nurse offered me a half dose of my BP med and 2 hours later offered me another half BP medicine. My BP finally came down to the 150s over 70s prior to my procedure. I asked if I could please now have a hospital gown as my street clothes were now slept in and sweated in, so I got one. I went to my procedure in the same hospital gown now dirty from the colon prep and slept in prior to the procedure. I left the outpatient room and returned to my room with the same hospital gown that I wore until I was discharged to home. Is there any wonder more patients are discharged from the hospital with staph infections with the type of care I received at this one? I think this hospital has earned its bad review, and I would never recommend it to anyone. read more

I waited in the ER for 2 hours in a great deal of pain. I decided to leave and go to St. Mary in which they saw me in 30 minutes. I received a bill for $1036 for sitting in their ER at Centerpoint. I was never seen. Do NOT go to Centerpoint. They have bad business practices. I am disputing the claim with my insurance company. read more

My sister was in this hospital and her machine kept beeping and it took forever for someone to come in and when the nurses aide finally did, she told my sister to just hold her breath and don't stop cause the machines are picky and a lot of the staff are so unprofessional, talking and laughing about patients for everyone to hear. I understand that some reviews may be poor, but I recently had outpatient surgery and everything from start to finish was fantastic. The staff at the front desk were very polite and knowledgeable, and had all my paperwork ready to be filled out. I was taken back to the surgery center and everybody was so kind and briefed me on everything that was taking place. My physician introduced herself to me and discussed what was going to take place the staff that wheeled me back to my surgery room or fantastic, and all of the nurses and anesthetist for my particular surgery or great. Based on the care that I had at this particular surgical care was a five out of five. read more

I went to Centerpoint Midical center from my Retina Doctor because of double vision and droopy eye lid. His tests did not show up anything. He sent me to the ER to have a cat scan to rule out the serious / life threating things that could be going on, like embolism, blood cloth, etc. Chose Centerpoiint because it being closest to home. Got checked in pretty quick, @ 2:00, but as I was sitting waiting I notice a different name on the wrist band and it a female not male. I initially thought that was who my doctor was going to be, noticed my birthday was wrong also. Went it was a mistake, called a computer fluke and had to reprint my band and stickers. Should have given me a clue what the rest of my stay would be like. Was called back shortly and placed in room 7 of the ER. It was at least 5-7 minutes and the doctor, last name Le, came in and visited with me and verified the issues and we talked about the disagnoses the retina doctor gave and agreed we needed to rule out the critical stuff and first thing was to get a CAT scan. It was at least another minute before any nurses came in, and when they opened the door, she exclaimed "oh there is someone in here"?????. Several came in and start vitals, blood port, etc. Then the admission nurse came in, gave her my card (UH) and said it was ineligible. I had already called the insurance company and I was in Network. She tried several things, still could not get it to work. I called UH again and they said yes you are ok, gave the phone to admission and they could not figure why it was not accepting it. Marked me down as Uninsured for the time being. Lab nurses came in shortly and took me to get the CAT Scan. Very nice people including the nurses. Then it kinda went down hill. No nurses checking in on me most of the day. Doctor did come in about 1 hour later and told me the test was ok. Said he needed to check with a Neurologist and see what they wanted to do. No nurses. I had to go to the bathroom, so my wife and to go find someone (I am still in ER). Someone and took me to the bathroom. Came back and waited. No checking on me see if I needed anything. Had not eaten at all that day. A couple of hours later I needed to go to the bathroom again and I pressed the Nurse button. 10 minutes still no one. Pushed the nurse button again, still nothing after 20 minutes and pushing the nurse button 3+ times, I took my blood pressure cuff off and the finger monitor off and went to the bathroom myself. The nurse light over the door was flashing when I went to the restroom. Went back and again waited, no one ever checked in on me AT ALL. Finally around 8:00 the nurse change over and the new nurse came in. I told her what the afternoon was like and she said she just came on. She apologized. She shortly came back and told me there was a new nurse working today and again apologized. She told me I was staying overnight to get blood work and they were short on rooms and they finally find me one (no one could have told me that at all during the day) The new nurse told me they had one and would be going up soon to the 5th floor. After a while she came in and told nobody had shown up to get me so she took me up to my room herself. Got into the room and was finally checked in and again said I have not have anything to eat all time (told earlier nurse also, several people). Got a turkey sandwich and a drink . This was 9:00 PM. That was pretty much it until the next morning during shift change. Had a telecall with a Neuro doctor and he wanted me to get an MRI to see what was going on behind the eyes. A nurse came in and filled a questionnaire for MRI and said it should not be too long. We waited and waited no word. Asked the aid about and she said she had not heard anything but would check. Nothing again. It was not until 3:00 MRI came in to get me. Mentioned about nurses said it was have been done earlier and she told me that they had called up to the floor at that time (in the morning) that it would not be until 3:00. No one knew anything on my floor. ZERO communication at that hospital. Took 3 hours after the MRI and they finally dismissed me around 7:00 p.m. (Saturday). Monday morning I called the hospital about my insurance, they tried again and said I was ineligible. Call my insurance company and they called Centerpoint insurance department, was getting the same error but started trying a different manual way and verified I was indeed covered. Reply to the insurance company that there is a technology glitch and will report it. ALL THIS IS A TRUE STORY. Did talk to a patient advocate and she again apologized. BEWARE of Centerpoint was the best excuse they can give is it must have been a technology glitz. Never again. read more

the nursing staff were so lovely. the wait for the emergency room was less than 15 minutes. the check in lady was kinda mean and old but everyone else was so kind and sweet and made me feel very comfortable. the building was clean and they gave me a workers note and took care of me very quickly and well. I was in and out in under and hour with the lab results and prescriptions I needed. 10/10 experience, I will come here next time I need an emergency room or urgent care visit. read more

Had to take my husband to the ER for racing heart and shortness of breath. Turned into a wee-klong stay. We were highly impressed with the care he received there. All very professional, caring, compassionate. and thorough. The entire medical staff made sure we were informed and patiently and all questions. Every member of the hospital staff was polite and courteous. Not that I recommend week-long stays in hospitals, but rest assured if you require one that the physicians, nurses and entire staff will take good care of you at Centerpoint. On a happy little side note, whenever a new baby is born in the hospital, they play a lovely bell-tones lullaby over the hospital PA system. It was uplifting to hear that, and pause in the day to know what joy is coming to a family. read more

Centrepoint. People seem to love it or hate it. When they first opened they had a rough start. It seems they were not all well trained with the new equipment and they had many bad situation which branded them as bad from the start. Fast forward to 2019 and Centerpoint is filled with highly qualified professionals who truly care about their patients. This week a wonderful older gentleman had a heart attack and flatlined. With immediate attention and CPR they brought him back. I visit Centerpoint almost daily and I visit every other hospital in the region regularly. While St.Lukes gets higher ratings for specialty physicians, Centerpoint is the best with their nursing staff and in caring and communicating to friends and family as they gather around loved ones. Centerpoint is a great place. Don't listen to the haters who jumped on the bandwagon early on saying this is a bad place. Improvements were made and today they are solid. I would trust this place with my life. read more

I was admitted to the hospital for fluid on the lungs and struggling to get breaths in. I was admitted at 2 and from 2 to 10 I had a catscan and they left me in the room the rest of the day with nothing more to be done. I had pressure and uncomfortable to sleep, eat, drink. They made me hold foods and drinks during this time and got results from imaging and decided to feed me and do the relieve of the fluid the following day. I had to deal with this all night miserable and uncomfortable and didn't sleep a wink as I labored for breaths. I barely seen a nurse might I add and they kept me in the er and put several in this big room with curtains including babies and people begging for pain medicine all night long. It was torture. Last time at Centerpoint. They have really lost their sight. They do not take care of the people first. It's unfriendly, slow, unorganized, rude, uncaring, and unsympathetic is going to have so many not return. read more

Was referred here by my primary to the women's health clinic. Great nurses, and friendly staff. Everything was clean and quiet. My OBGYN was very thorough with explaining every and any options I had, was very patient with my questions, and made me feel comfortable through out my whole exam! Visited the ER tonight and had an absolutely wonderful experience from Intake to Triage. Very efficient and hardly any wait time even though there were quite a few people being processed through and treated. My mind is trying to decide between 3 stars and 4 stars. My mom had a cholecystectomy Friday morning. That's a medical term for gallbladder removal surgery. I stuck by her during 90% of the time, except surgery. I work in the medical field, but not in the hospital setting. I have, and that's not for me. I've been a nurse since 1995. I have an odd way of diagnosing people, and get it correct about 95% of the time. I never let this be known, at first, when I have (this time) my mother in the hospital, until I feel a need to step in. I don't like stepping in. I visited my mom many times in her room. I felt when I was there, no one came to check on her....uh, what is the recovery check rules? Every 15 minutes x 4, every half hour x 4...this is where I felt they could've done better. I felt they could've done better in alot of ways. They didn't check on her as they were supposed to. I stepped up my game. "I've been a nurse since 1995. She has a coarse cough and needs a chest xray order." "We'll call the doctor." I felt them roll their eyes behind my back. In they come with Cepacol lozenges. Just went from 4 stars to three. I doubt they even called the doctor, I know exactly how that is. The cough gets worse, o2 stats drop. I could tell it was leading to pneumonia. Respiratory therapist comes in and gives her a med and tried to give her an inhaler that she thought my mom took at home. I spoke up, "She's not on that. That is for COPD, asthma and emphysema. But she needs a chest xray and an albuterol nebulizer." The nurses were fine, but I felt didn't get much done except the Sunday nurse. Next day, cough is more than I can stand. During the night, my mom told me she threatened to go back to the ER, or call me, I have a mouth around nurses. She got a chest xray, it showed clear. That was almost the end of my rope. Pissed off, exhausted, I said, " Is she coming home with this cough? It's pneumonia." The doctor said it was from the tube in surgery. They sent her home the next day. Atleast she's on antibiotics and prednisone. The inhaler is lame. Cough is coarse, no neb order. Albuterol inhaler isn;t going to do much. ....all from a gallbladder removal surgery. So I'm up checking on her every 2 hours, and I have no qualms about taking her to an emergency room for a nebulizer treatment. I typed, "an emergency room" on purpose. Centerpoint is close. I would never, in my life, work there as a nurse. Nor is it my favorite hospital in the metropolitan area. But if I have to return, I guess I'll be labeled the demanding daughter who's a nurse, better watch out for her....yeah, I know how they talk among themselves, I used to work in a hospital setting. read more

I fell landing on a glass bottle on concrete which made 3 large gashes in my forearm, wrist and hand, and broke my wrist and fingers. Came here and sat in waiting room for about an hour, then taken for x-rays but was unable to get them taken due to not being able to move my hand. Then they decided to give me a couple pain pills orally. Had to sit and wait for them to take effect while in the most extreme pain I have ever had. I do hate hospitals, and this one has got to be the worst ever. 0 stars read more

DO NOT GO HERE FOR MEDICAL ATTENTION!! My mom came to the ER with Covid symptoms and was treated horribly. She told them she was too weak to hold herself up and they put her in a chair anyway. She fell out of the chair and was left on the floor as WORKERS walked by her! Not even sure where to begin. this place has abused me verbally... emotionally. I never feel heard or shown compassion when I'm there. I have issues not every one can see and they flat out don't believe me and tell me to leave, tell me they will not be helping me with anything. I've had doctors interrogate me and make me prove why I deserved their help. I used to be alot worse and due to two docs miscommunication they both kicked me out and I had to make my way to another hospital. I never complain, I'm always kind even when super sick. I get everyone is busy and not paid enough and understaffed. But that does not excuse their treatment of me and many other patients. I hate their hallway of shame they make you sit in. that place has ruined me mentally and has put me in a depressive state. unless you broke your leg, dont bother going there. read more

I visited the ER on Sunday for the first time and was not impressed! I was given an IV and sat in the hallway with my IV pole, without anywhere to lay my head after the meds they gave me made me extremely drowsy. I was sat in the hallway with the others waiting in the ER. It took forever for them to come get me for imaging to check for Brain bleeding after a 2 day migraine and thunderclap headaches and they were NOT busy! Everyone waiting in the hallway knows everyone's business! I was looking for relief from the headaches that i couldn't find on my own at home. It took 2 hours of me sitting in a chair in hallway for them to give me the Cat scan results. Then on the way out i had my IV taken out by triage WITHOUT gloves! The minute i returned home i had another Thunderclap headache, so whatever they gave me did next to nothing. I hear there are a lot of druggies in and out of there so i'm sure they thought i just wanted drugs, but i had a legit issue, but feel it was not addressed fully by an unorganized and unsupported dept! I never once got to talk to a DR. I have always heard bad things about this hospital, but wanted to decide for myself! I will NOT be returning to this Hospital in the future! read more
