They're slow and never have all of the meds called in, but overall a good experience.

They never have any of the prescriptions ready and the wsit time takes too long. I wouldn't recommend them to my worse enemy.

service is not well. some employees are very unprofessional and rude. Medications are never there and they'll lie to your face. It's a shame because this used to be a great hometown pharmacy. now it's just about numbers. They'll make you go without your medication and not think twice. Don't waste your time here. read more

I never thought I'd be leaving a bad review about a pharmacy that I used to trust with my life. Pennhighlands recently bought out SMP & ever since, it's been a nightmare. I was forced to go 3 days without a prescription that I take daily. With no real explanation one of the new pharmacists told my doctor that my allergy to a medication wasn't a valid reason to fill my prescription after I have been getting it filled there for 5+ years with no issue. I called to 4 other pharmacies & all of them told me the same thing- they should have honored my entire prescription. instead they filled all but 5. She even had to order them & still didn't give me my entire prescription. I have never heard of this happening. I couldn't believe the way they made me feel. I now know that I'm no longer looked at as a patient, but rather as a number. The way the new staff treats people breaks my heart. And there are a few original workers left that are great, but they are starting to go elsewhere too. A woman pharmacist told my doctor that if they filled my prescription, they would have to fill everyone else's prescription. But our question is, why would anyone know what prescriptions I'm taking in the first place? I wish pharmacies would realize that sometimes there are exceptions to be made and instead of belittling people maybe open your minds and try to educate and understand the medication's that you're taking away from people that need them. So instead of getting my medication that I'm prescribed to, I have to sit in the hospital and be told I need to go to rehab? It sickens me. I have never had any issues with any of my medication's. I have never asked for them to fill this medication early. I have always treated them with the upmost respect. I think they are playing a very dangerous game by gambling with people's lives. It's dangerous to just stop taking ANY medication let alone the medication they literally took from me. I'm honestly afraid to make this in fear of retaliation because they are my hometown pharmacy and all of my prescriptions are filled through them. aside from the one prescription that I now have to drive an hour away for, which I also can't afford. Not one medication is one size fits all and it's wrong to even think that. As a past healthcare worker myself I'm just disgusted with all of it. My prescribing doctor is completely baffled. I've talked to a few of my nursing friends & they also have said that this is wrong. I can understand if there are red flags or signs of abuse of a medication but to treat a patient like this that has done everything I'm supposed to do, is not justified. Needless to say, if you are looking for a reliable where you will not be made to feel like a nuisance or you're doing something wrong I would highly suggest choosing a different than this one. As much as it kills me to say, because there are a few good workers left, it's just not the same. They took the hometown feeling out of it. read more

I prefer to stick with local businesses. Our insurance will only work with local businesses. And unfortunately my ONLY other alternative with in 1 hour of my home other than St. Marys Pharmacy, was online shipping. It took 3 different phone calls to get the prescriptions for my daughter acknowledged. First person would say, we will get your scripts from the other pharmacy and get back to you. Three people did that. And all three times each person had no idea I had even called and I would have to start over. She is diabetic!! The last and final straw. Tried to get diabetic supplies filled. I was told it would be filled the following week. Went to get it, nothing there. So, apparently the person that said it would be in next week was wrong. Their "wholesaler" doesn't supply this widely used diabetic supply. But they told me it was an "uncommon" supply. Hmmmmm. I told them it would have been nice of them to call and let me know my daughters life dependent supplies could not be supplied by them. Then.....it gets better. After that I tried to fill it online through my insurance company...I couldn't. Because it was filled in their records by St. Marys Pharmacy. I called the pharmacy. Apparently, after they told me they couldn't provide it to us.....they then "forgot" to reverse it. Are you joking? I'm VERY frustrated. Good chance all of our maintenance medications will no longer be provided through them due to this incompetence. So disappointed. read more

It saddens me greatly to write this. I was looking forward to keeping business local and not take it to someplace like Walmart. But they were the one's that forced my hand and made me make the switch. First off, they charged me so much extra for my generic prescriptions and I learned later that they shouldn't have. When I was having my prescriptions renewed from my Doctor, they were not putting my insurance information through correctly and not for at all for one, they were even making it seem like it was MY fault. I had to make so many trips back and forth to the store, and calls to insurance. And it was their fault when they admitted that the cashier wasn't putting in the information correctly, and they didn't even offer an apology, they just stated that was what happened. It was an unnecessary headache. Also, after speaking with my insurance, they stated that they were not supposed to be charging me the fee that they were making me pay. It even came down to my insurance calling them on the phone to speak directly to the managing Pharmacist to figure out what was going on and why they were charging me so much when they shouldn't have been. The insurance company stated to them that there were even alternatives medicines that they could give me, but the managing "pharmacist" flat out refused to offer it. The pharmacy even told the insurance representative that they refused to give a refund when the wrong charge was indicated to be in their error. The insurance company said that they never spoke to a pharmacy that was so unwilling to help a client. I never truly felt comfortable in their store, and sometimes it seemed as though I were putting them out. They never had my prescriptions when calling them in, and I had to wait a day or two for the store to get them. They lost my business, permanently. I won't go in there, even for the smallest of things, no matter what it is. After making the switch to Walmart, the service there was so much better, nicer, way more professional. And here's the kicker, they don't overcharge me, and some of my prescriptions are fully covered, which they are supposed to be. Isn't that an irony, the big corporation were't the ones that I should've been avoiding, and the small one was treating me like I was expecting the big one to. I've hard similar stories from others, and I can't believe a local store in a small town would be like this to its customers. I say this with a heavy heart and a caveat to others. read more

This is a great store for greeting cards, they have a lovely gift shop and can get some deals when they have a sale !! The clerks are all pleasant and helpful !! Being a member from Kane Players they are gracious to sell tickets for our productions!!! read more

SMP is more than a pharmacy! They also have a gift shop and a home medical component. Very convenient hours! Not to mention the "convenience" items you can also get there (greeting cards, coffee, milk, toilet paper, etc..). The staff are super friendly and always willing to help. I highly recommend SMP! read more
