Delightful little park. Full of locals and tourists alike. Multiple places to sit. Best of which are swinging benches looking at the water front. Spent most of my time in St Mary's here. This park alone will set the standard for me, places to stop on a road trip. Clean bathrooms, friendly people. Pokemon - multiple stops and gyms. Filled my item bag up in one hour. Stops all along the road and a neighboring history trial.

This isn't the main attraction; really you want to get out there on the water. It does have a fountain, a nice view, and some basic facilities within sight of the water. Signage warns that the fountain is not for swimming (nor is the water in this area). The area is ringed by a wall of tabby, the distinctive building material of the area with shells built in. There is a fountain and some shade. Notably, there is a more interesting history walk near the cemetery just up the road, though not under the same park.

What a beautiful park at Christmas time, day and night, with all the themed trees, gazebo, swings, and water fountain.

Beautiful park on the waterfront in St. Marys. It is nextdoor to the Cumberland Island National Seashore Visitor Center, and ferry dock. There is a dock off the park where you can walk out and look at the St. Marys River, and the land you see from there is actually Florida. The center of the river is the line between GA/FL. There is an architecturally interesting performance stage in one corner of the park, a fountain, picnic areas, flowers and formal garden plantings, and a fun playground in one corner by the road. Note there is a high brick wall separating the playground from the street. This park hosts town events and is a pretty lively place, visited by locals and tourists alike. Dogs allowed on leash.

Tide clock? Very cool! Never seen one of these!

Simply gorgeous park~ the view of the water, breeze coming off the water to cool you in the Florida sun! They have a beautiful fountain, a gazebo with seat, and amphitheater for events, swings along the seawall, a playground for the kiddos! Bathrooms and I thought I saw a shop- although I did not pop in to explore- too many little ones! We sat and enjoyed all the views for a good 30 minutes and this park was hopping! Plenty of parking out on the street- was filled on this lovely Sunday!

Beautiful park that's very well kept nice and clean. The grass is free of ants and bugs but it doesn't save you from the sand gnats haha. The new playground is amazing with a jumpy rubber padding. It's the perfect place for a date or to take your family on a nice day. The swings by the water have been a favorite of mine for years. Picture worthy backdrop in front of the water fountain, but don't try to come during prom season. There's a little convenience center with restrooms nearby and vending machines.

Someone likes to hide painted rocks in the park. I found a few :-)

This is a beautiful park with lots of places to sit or walk. There are really cool swings (large bench-like swings) looking out over the water. There's a nice outdoor Amphitheatre and a pretty fountain. This would be a nice place to walk after having dinner or to watch the sunset. There are a few piers nearby to walk out onto and get a little closer to the water. It's a nice, relaxing atmosphere and I would recommend for families or individuals. Pets are welcome, too! There is a new restaurant getting ready to open n nearby so it may be fun to check out if you want a little day trip from Jax.

Absolutely lovely water park! Seems to be heart of the waterfront and well deserved! They apparently have many functions here as ex today was a fishing tournament and nice quality arts and crafts. Music is blaring away as the wind blows in off the St. Marys River as we swing on the built in swings. Nice.....

We came to visit this area because we've never been. It's actually a spot where you'd catch a boat to go to Cumberland Island. There's a little bit of cute shops and restaurants. It's really cute town waterfront. There's tons of street parking. There's a playground for the children as well. It's cute and small though. They've got a cute water fountain area and tons of picnic tables underneath shaded gazebos. I would like to come around when it was more busy or when things were open. We came on Sunday and most of the shops were closed.

Where horses, turkey, pigs, rattlesnakes and who know what else roam freely. It's not an easy island to get to and once you arrive it's not easy staying here either but I absolutely love coming here. There are no grocery stores, gas stations or any restaurants so you have to bring everything and I mean everything with you. Just getting your vehicle here is a hefty price. It's worth every penny.

There is something here for everyone and for people of all abilities. Most of the main part of the island is flat, including from the dock and up to the ruins (it's about 0.4 to half a mile from the dock to the ruins--and there are beach wheelchairs). There's also a main road that traverses the island from one end to the other for about 18 miles that can be traveled by bicycle. There's also an inn and multiple historical structures you can visit. You can also visit a beautiful, mostly empty beach! I got off at the first stop, which is the most challenging stop, meaning I had to climb over sand dunes to get to the beach. It was QUITE the workout and exhausting (I felt it for days after). Someone told me that the second ferry stop is a much easier, more direct path to the beach. This was a wonderful, serene location. I saw several groups of horses along my hike. The greenery is beautiful. I wouldn't mind coming back and setting up camp (permit required) so I can travel the whole island on bike and by foot. Spending more time on the tranquil beach. I wouldn't spend time at the end, as it's 900-1000 dollars or more per night with a two night minimum. If you're looking to visit the island during the day, the RiverView Hotel is RIGHT THERE, essentially directly across from the ferry, and costs about 200 a night for great vintage rooms with comfy beds. Please see my reviews of the ferry and Molly's tours to build a whole itinerary. You'll never see anything else like this, anywhere else in the world probably. It's a fairly cost effective trip, with the ferry costing just over 40 bucks round trip, the inn costing about 200 a night, and the island entry fee being just a few bucks.

3 Ladies - 1 - 88 1- 86 and 1- 71! OH MY GOD, The mode of transportation on the island is HORRIBLE…read morefor the Lands and Legacies Tour. What was wrong? The owners of the transport company over- stuffed the bus to full and maximum capacity with 12 paying customers. The seating in the rear of the bus is both claustrophobic, cramped, and those sitting in the middle of the last row of 4 really could not see much. (While maximizing profits for themselves...) The tour guide, Juane, was a 10! She had so much knowledge! The Van - ZERO! We came back hurting all over! For those being a bit older count on your hips, joints, neck muscles, hurting for several days... it's awful... and, the agony of being threw around, takes away most of the enjoyment of the tour. Which is a pity, as Cumberland Island is a most beautiful and interesting place. Hint: If you still decide to go on the tour, make sure you quickly select the 3 seats just behind the driver. These are fine. The next row is marginal, the rest, read above. us 3 Ladies were in the last row! Between the rough roads and the speed the driver was doing we couldnt hear a thing. When the tour was almost over she decided to turn on a portable bluetooth speaker that was attached to the seatbelt strap in the back. That lasted for about 5 minutes. I won't be recommending this tour to any of my friends. Maybe my enemies! Hint for the National Park Service: end the contract and get a bus company providing proper transportation! And regrade the roads! Maybe some item 4 or blacktop? The tour wasn't cheap so it should have been so much better!
