Super cute live jazz bar with some pretty great food. The drinks were amazing and they've got all the classics plus some sweet specialties. Food was well executed and flavorful. Pretty large portions too. The live jazz was the cherry on top. Service was great too and added to the overall experience. Solid spot if you like jazz music, good drinks, and good food!

What a night! The live music only aids the great food, drinks, and service! The band is amazing and they really enhance the experience and add to the ambiance. I recommend going with a group and getting the grand platter for a great charcuterie board. SUPER FLAVORFUL PASTA! It was all so incredible Thank you to Mary for making the experience so much better for a birthday!

If there is one place you take visitors to Williamsburg, this should be it. In my first month in the city, I was walking down Grand Street and was pulled in by the sound of jazz. I felt like I was stepping out of time and the decor was a huge part of that. The sound of the music paired with the impeccable design (from the lights to the seating) make for such a beautiful atmosphere. Any and all generations can appreciate this place, even if you don't have personal nostalgia for the era it's inspired by. I highly recommend ordering a glass of wine and sharing the dip plate with the table but really, you can't go wrong!

Such a fan of this place! The atmosphere is European and cozy and vibey, and the live jazz in the evenings is so lovely and at a great level to still talk to your dinner partner. We enjoyed the happy hour oyster special, gnocchi, and porchetta. Portions were bigger than we expected. Service was on the slow side but again, felt European in nature so it didn't hinder the night. Will come back!

Yay! So glad I finally got to check out this place, it's been on my bucketlist for awhile now. The first time I tried to go, it was with my partner and unfortunately the whole place was booked for the night (what a flex honestly). If you go on a monday night, it's not too busy which was nice cause you're able to hear each other talk. The live music was great and the food and drinks were delish. Highly recommend the oysters, charcuterie and Midnight special cocktail. I'm glad my partner reserved us a table because honestly, I find the reservation process so friggin confusing. I don't get the different between all of the different seating options. I wish they had a map detailing what each meant in relation to the stage. And then there's a difference too between reserving a show vs reserving a table, why isn't this the same form?

It was my first time at St. Mazie live Jazz and supper club. Service was accommodating. I was there for a birthday and my party of three was seated in a very comfortable u-shaped booth where we could have a lovely view of the live jazz performance. The drinks were beautiful crafted and tasty. The food was very good. The overall experience very upscale, cozy and intimate.

I came here again for a birthday dinner. It was truly incredible! We got table side seating to the performance which created a really nice ambience for us. The food was overall just fine! The gnocchi was a bit too salty and the Mezze platter was just ok! I would next time just come for drinks and get dinner elsewhere in Williamsburg. Despite the good, the ambience and drinks more than made up for it

Found out via Eventbrite that this cool restaurant hosts jazz dinners via their Supperclub! I immediately purchased tickets, which gets you a table amongst at their downstairs speakeasy-vibed room. The nights entertainment was swing and gypsy jazz, one of my favorite genres. They played some incredible originals, as well as favorites from renowned guitarist, Django Reinhardt. For dinner I ordered the lemon potatoes to start. They were crispy and rather delicious. I could start every day with a bowl of those, they were that good, For my entree I ordered the fettuccine. It was served with a slow roasted, tomato sauce, basil pesto, fresh parmesan and bread crumbs. I washed it all down with both a non-alcoholic ginger beer and also a non-alcoholic root beer... but don't worry, I wasn't driving =) I can't wait to come back - I think next time I'll grab a seat upstairs to try out a different experience.

Ask the Community - St. Mazie

Are 18 year olds allowed in to listen to the music?

As far as I know since it is a restaurant yes they can. It gets crowded fast so it is best to make reservations before hand. But you can hear and enjoy the music from everywhere so it's not a big deal to be in the band area.

When booking a hightop table, is that upstairs, or downstairs?

The high top tables are upstairs near the bar.

Do all dinner reservations access the jazz music or only the tickets through eventbrite?

The music is ticketed separately through eventbrite- regular seating is either the cellar supper club downstairs, or a limited number of tables in the front bar area. You can always request the stage side seating when you reserve through Resy, and…

I booked $15 tickets I found on Eventbrite for a party of 7 at St. Mazie's. Now I'm looking at St. Mazie's website. Am I also supposed to reserve a table or will my party automatically get a table/seating if we booked tickets?

Hi Ashley! Yes, an eventbrite ticket guarantees you a stage side table - no need to reserve a table separately.

Can you eat while watching the performances? anyone know? or it gets really crowded/etc? haven't been there yet but thinking of going for their Flamenco night..

Yes you can order tickets online for the shows on fridays and saturdays. Other nights you can book through yelp - if the cellar isn't open they'll automatically seat you on the main floor where the music is. It does get crowded in the weekends but…

I wanted to love it so much especially since TikTok critic/MMA fighter Keith Lee visited them in 2023, but my experience was not like his. I want to say that online reviews are almost about accurate. They were out of cold salads and collard greens which was an issue for other customers at times as well. No problem, they were super helpful and offered an alternative but not a good one. I had steamed vegetables that mashed in my mouth like mashed potatoes when I took a bite. I did end up going to another spot for collard greens and potato salad because you can't have soul-food without that. I had the rib dinner with mac n cheese and yams and a tiny piece of complimentary cornbread. The ribs definitely taste amazing but they don't take off the membrane in the back which is slimy and gross. I left that part behind. The yams were sweet and good BUT.....that mac n cheese is NOT soul-food Mac n cheese. Here's the thing I figured out, they use such little cheese but season the noodles very well that you don't truly notice unless you love mac n cheese, which I do, so I noticed it lacked so much cheese but had seasoned noodles. The rib dinner was a 3/5 because ribs were great but sides needed help. I had rice and peas as an additional side and fried wings. The wings were ATROCIOUS! I ate the smallest one and didn't eat the rest. How can you serve such huge feathered wings like that? It was a nightmare. The feathers being on it turned me off. This tells me they don't make their food with care, they move quick to be one and done and I want my food cooked with love and care. They were also frozen wings that were thawed and seasoned, I know the difference. The rice and peas were okay 3/5 as well. Overall the food was not worth the hype. Customer service was beautiful for sure but the food was not it.

I have heard a lot about Stowaway and wanted to come here and see for myself what the fuss is…read moreabout. I also heard of their $1 happy hour oysters, which is always a draw for me, so dining here was a natural choice. The establishment looks pretty unassuming from the outside, but as soon as you walk in, you are transported in time to a cozy, vintage themed café with a small bar and a few tastefully scattered tables. I glanced over the raw oysters on another table and was very unimpressed by their miniature size. Also, unlike what their website states, the happy hour oysters are actually $1.50 each, which I found slightly annoying and maybe they should work on updating their website. Instead of going the raw route, I ordered the charbroiled oysters off the happy hour menu to start. I also heard their hush puppies are really famous and so I wanted to give them a try as well. For my main entrée, I saw another patron with a chicken sandwich and I ordered it. The hush puppies were really good, slightly on the sweet side with a fluffy corn batter, crunchy exterior. The dipping sauce that came on the side was actually a molasses butter, which was to die for. I do think that the hush puppies were a little bit on the greasier side, I could see that the insides had soaked in some oil which is never good for a fried item. They should probably work on frying these at a better temperature to keep the dish light and not as greasy. The chicken sandwich I was expecting from the looks of it for the chicken fillet to be meatier and thicker, but, when I bit into it, it was a lot more breading than I thought it would be with very little chicken. The side of pickles that came with the sandwich were absolutely delicious and really held a sandwich together because all that grease really needed a solid pickle to cut through it and these pickles did exactly that. I would love if they served even more of those on the side with the sandwich. The salad that came on the side of my sandwich was bright, well seasoned and delicious and not drowning and olive oil, which I appreciated. The charbroiled oysters were honestly a disappointment. This is a dish that probably would've worked well if they were using larger size oysters, but the topping to oyster ratio was just really off. The whole thing was extremely salty and the sauces on the oysters completely overpowered the oyster flavor. These were served with sourdough bread, which was a nice touch because the bread carries the sauce from the oysters very well. The oysters themselves had a lot of grease and then the toasted bread was also very greasy. I think that's one thing that I really did not like about this place is that their food was EXTREMELY GREASY. Normally food with fried components is not supposed to be this heavy but having this meal actually made me feel ill afterwards, and I only ate half of everything and had mad leftovers. I hope that they can improve on certain things based on my feedback. Service was friendly, it's a small space and it's not too hard to get a server's attention. I think their menu has so much potential. If they could just make a few need changes to elevate the quality of their food, this would be easily a five star establishment.

It was bright and sunny, so the area was a tad hot, but we made do with a bunch of us, including me, getting a beer or soda to deal with the heat. The service was friendly and helpful with those who weren't sure what they wanted, I went with a special, which is only available from Friday to Sunday during the summer. This was the Harvest Grill Bowl, which came with six pan-fried pierogi of my choice served with grilled Polish kielbasa, roasted yellow/green squash, roasted corn, red pepper, caramelized onion, garlic, and rosemary. The price, which ranged from $16 to $20, depended on which pierogi were used, with the meat ones being more. I asked if I could do half and half like on the regular menu, and that was fine, so it was $18, I believe. My first choice was the recommended Pierogi Tatarskie along with the Sauerkraut and Mushroom. The former was filled with potatoes, eggs, dill, and scallions and garnished with sizzling bacon, while the latter was filled with sauerkraut & mushroom and topped with caramelized onions. Both of them were tasty with a good texture, and I had a slight preference towards the latter pieróg, which was earthy but also tasted meaty, as is pretty typical for the mix. The former was good, though I do wish there was a stronger dill and scallion flavor. Outside of the pierogi, the kielbasa added some smokiness, while the rest added some sweetness, earthiness, and other flavors. I liked the addition of the pickle in there for an extra flavor. Overall, it was very filling and delicious, and I would highly recommend it. Not much else to say here. Good spot, at least from what I tried. Would recommend the bowl, and others enjoyed their meals as well.

The breakfast sandwich had a great flavor and I liked the option to add avocado to keep it vegetarian. I just wish there were more slices of avocado on it. They must have been added to the box while they were fresh off a hot pan. A good amount was welded to the box. Annoying, but fine. And then the brew arrived without sugar or (paid for) oat milk. They hate me. It's ok, I'll just drink it black. And that's where 2 stars get knocked off. Worst tasting coffee ever. Cold brew is supposed to be smooth, with very little acid. This was extremely sour! As if it was made previously and had been sitting around for a couple of days. It took me a minute to realize how bad it was. And suffering as a result. Intense stomach pains and tummy issues. From coffee. Smh. I will probably eat there, in person. But I will never trust their cold brew again. Or delivery.
