Sabot has nurtured their curiosity and their identity as readers, writers and researchers. Each year they have unfailingly been supported in developing their own theories and furthering their academic inquiry. This has resulted in such ownership over their learning, and confidence in their place in the classroom community. The social constructionist approach in the classroom has fostered an environment where their social-emotional growth has been stretched and supported. Not only are my children learning to be students, they are learning to be good citizens. While no school is perfect, the dedication of the faculty and staff to the students and to this approach to learning has been evident in every interaction.

Academic deans worked with us to recommend class leveling based on transcript, standard testing and summer pre work. Teachers have been wonderful and go above and beyond for the students. As parents, we are so relieved to learn about the leadership role that the college admissions team will have in helping our kids navigate the college application process. After applying and being accepted but wait-pooled for 2 years, I decided to try one more time for…read moremy daughter going into Kindergarten. The process is tedious. Instead of making it easier for prior accepted applicants to enroll, they treat you like a brand new applicant. Needless to say, my daughter was once again waitlisted along with "50 others". If they are THIS full, they should stop accepting applications. But I guess they don't want to lose the application fee revenue they're getting ($50 per application...) Their readiness visits are also not Montessori based. They clearly "test" your child, I saw it with my own eyes and ears last year during my daughters readiness visit. The teacher asked her explicitly "what letter is this?" And when I mentioned it to the organizer (Makayla) she said "oh, no we don't test" basically telling me what I saw and heard was wrong. It's also clear that they only enroll kids who are already incredibly advanced so that the school staff can take credit for their excellence. My daughter is clearly very on track for her age, can make out the sounds of most letters, and already knows basic math at the age of 5. (Her readiness visit she was 4 going on 5) But they want 5 year olds to be advanced kindergartners and first graders before even entering kindergarten. I'm also guessing there is some other discrimination going on. Because being "accepted" but waitlisted more than once, but thrice, should not happen in any school. Why even take applicants at that point? Hire more teachers, or stop taking applications every year. This is not what Montessori is about and they need to research what Maria Montessori's mission was. Because this is not it. Also, during Christmas they sent out the most vague "holiday greeting", so that was also pretty strange. I hope this feedback reaches the right people. I will not be applying again.

What was so impressive to us was the academic ranking nationally among the students, their maturity, self confidence and strong biblical world view. Both of my boys have excelled at the school and have a maturity and confidence we don't see in many of their peers who attend public schools. I went to public school and even substituted in local public schools. This school is night and day different. Stonebridge teaches differently and is very non apologetic about their biblical worldview approach and how they teach Christian Self Government. These are principles that don't and won't get taught in public school. Not only have I been over to ALL of my teacher's homes, I've prayed with them, and they have prayed for me. I've had teachers and parents reach out to me asking for prayer and for help. This doesn't happen in public schools. I also see how the parents are involved in this school. You have to be apart and you are to partner WITH the school to instill these principles into your child life. The school will help with direction, but they desire that you and them partner together to make learning fun and educational. Many parents show up for "special" days at school. I've never seen so much parent involvement and every classroom has a "room parent" where we have been invited over to their house for cookouts. They create facebook forums for us to discuss homework and also prayer requests for the children and faculty. Not only do parents help out in the classroom, but last summer we had a "work day" at the school and countless number of parents showed up to paint and help out around the school. Can you imagine that? Parents who are paying private school tuition willing to show up and WORK at a school for FREE. That's how much parents believe in this place. So We have been at the school for 5 years now and not only that, but I have substituted at ALL grade levels. I can't speak highly enough about the attitude of the kids. I have subbed in public schools and you WILL NOT find students who treat adults the same way. Also the students seem to be very close to each other. They go on trips together from when they are small all the way through their "senior trip". This school has also scored the highest score in the country with their seniors the last 2 years in a row for having a "biblical worldview". My wife and I both work in Greenbrier and were driving back and forth to Stonebridge. We both love the school so much that we decided to sell our house and move down the street from Stonebridge. Stonebridge has become a family away from family. We have invested in it and believe in it. It may not be for everyone and is it perfect? NO....Nothing is. But if you're looking for a solid education that is founded in biblical principles, a place for your child to make meaningful and long lasting relationships in life, a place where teachers really care and parents are involved, a place for you as parents to plug in and make many life long friendships; Then Stonebridge is the place for you.

My husband and I had our elopement at Sabot at Stony Point and the location could not have been…read moremore beautiful. We got Married on March 20th 2016. Everyone from Sabot was so helpful, accommodating and attentive. Previously I had met with their events coordinator- she gave me a tour and allowed me to take photos of the venue. After sending the deposit and securing the date Sabot notified us that one of the kindergarten classes was having a pizza party of sorts on that Sunday and would be using the main house- however they allowed us use of the event space instead which was a beautiful open space that worked even better with the aesthetic that we were going for. On the day after we had just finished the ceremony and we're heading inside for cake and champagne the kindergarten class waved and were congratulating my husband and I from the Windows that the teacher had opened- it was absolutely adorable and made our day! Sabot also allowed my husband to arrive early in order to set up the sweetheart table , candles and all of the goodies which was much appreciated. I couldn't have asked for a better venue for my special day!
