There is really no perfect church congregation; people are people, however if you are looking to worship Jesus Christ and, learn and expand your Biblical knowledge this a great place to be.

I was a member of this church so I know all too well about it.This church is run like a business…read morefor profit where the customer service is horrible. The staff and members are very "clicky" and shun the outside world, visitors and even some regular church-goers who give them all of their hard earned money that they know they cant afford, but the pastor will find a passage in the bible to misinterpret and guilt you into that.Everyone is cold, distant and fake. All they seem to care about is guilting you into countless offerings to pay for renovations which they've alreadt guilted a churchmember into doing for free.Offerings for play lighting and wardrobes that have already been donated, and outrageously priced school outings and "competitions" that the parents whom by the way most cannot afford their inflated tuitions have already paid for.I would also not recommend sending a child to their school,(just read the sexual assault charges in the Providence journal from last year to learn more) and for the price you pay your child could receive a real private school education and the classes would actually be supervised by accredited teachers with degrees in what they are teaching, something like WHEELER or La Salle or a well rated public school....FOR FREE,and colleges will actually take your student more seriously as they have received proper curriculum. They will get you in a happy, giving mood by their upbeat Christian music and plays which your child will spend more time on than becoming a good Christian and actually learning the Bible, all the while you'll be cheerfully giving your money over to the basket which hardly takes a break from going around as you take in the fashion show of women with pounds of makeup and 5 inch stilettos and mini skirts,(because i'm sure that's how the 12 apostles wanted their future house of worship)But having said all that, its the perfect gathering place for a snobby fashion show with clicky members, men douced in cologne, upbeat song and dance for 80 % of the sermon, donating free labor to a project that's already been collected on,and if you want to set your kids up to be broke too,pay inflated tuition fees for a diploma that's almost useless outside in the cold, dark and evil worl most of us call reality.

We were immediately impressed with how beautiful the grounds were, there were lots of beautiful flowers, magnificent water views, and abundant charm. We had an amazing time touring the house and grounds. Our guide, Maggie, was excellent, she shared interesting details and told the story of the Smith-Appleby family with humor and pride. We were most impressed at the sustainability of the homestead and how it has served this family for nearly 300 years. It was an absolute privilege to spend time here and we felt very fortunate to have had the opportunity to spend the morning touring the buildings and grounds, including a visit to the family cemetery at the front on the property. Tours cost $5 per person and a yearly membership is only $20.

They give tours the third Sunday of the month from 1 - 4 , so plan accordingly! It was a beautiful day... I have to say the grounds are lovely. What a great place to just enjoy a short stroll. My son enjoyed picking up sticks and poking around the small stream that runs down from the road. We also took a look at the graveyard with all the old stones. The house itself is very interesting with a few things I'd never seen before. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Everyone there was very welcoming and we just had a really nice afternoon... my son ,who is 7, really enjoyed it as well. A great local place to visit, especially on a nice day. I'll be back to check out some of the events that they hold periodically.
