During my time there, I personally witnessed teachers yelling at children and getting very close to their faces when correcting them. I also witnessed a two-year-old being placed in a corner after biting instead of seeing the behavior addressed through calm communication, guidance, and helping the child understand their emotions. As an early childhood educator, I believe young children need patience, respect, positive guidance, and developmentally appropriate discipline. Children this young are still learning how to communicate their needs and manage their emotions, and I believe challenging behaviors should be handled with understanding and teaching rather than fear or intimidation. My experience during those two days did not reflect the type of classroom environment I believe children deserve or the type of teaching environment I want to be part of. I ultimately decided not to doing my trainings there plus one teacher told me that I talked too much and I shouldn't be asking questions through my training, which I felt that was disrespectful. I asked questions for a reason to know the environment to know how these children work and how the teachers work. I don't have any pictures to prove and it's funny because they have cameras there. I wouldn't take my child here!!! parents don't know the reality of how teachers treat children. I've been working with early childhood for 10 years now, and this was a disgrace teacher, screaming at the children and putting them on in the corner.

He has had attentive and sweet teachers and has gotten the right care for his age. Only downside is the hours are 8-5, which are hard for working parents, but means he has the same teachers all day.

All of the teachers make an effort to know every child's name and I think that makes them feel very special and included. I appreciate that they went through the process to become accredited and have a strong curriculum in place (while leaving plenty of room for the kids to still have fun). It's also nice that being in a federal building makes you feel like the kids are very safe. There are numerous security measures in place to finally get through the center's door, but nothing that would scare the kids. All of the building's security officers are so sweet with the kids!

My biggest problem was enforcing policies across the board for all children and parents. I felt like my daughter was scratched WAY TOO MUCH! I understand kids scratch, but if the nail clipping policy is enforced and parents are required to cut their daughter's or son's nails, scratches would happen less. Teachers should have nail clippers available at drop-off so parents can clip their children's nails. All in all, whenever I had a critique or comment for staff, it was always heard and respected.

My son started attending the preschool in late October/early November. At his previous center, we…read moreexperienced a situation where he was bitten several times. We discovered the bites during bath time period I expressed to the director at Meadow Oaks that it was important to notify me if anything happened to my son. I explained that I did not want to discover something had been happening that was not reported. However that exact thing happened at Meadow Oaks. My son has longer hair, that he wore in braids, and it was ripped from his skull. When I noticed that his hair had been pulled from his head, I immediately called the center. The director was unaware however the teacher, Clarissa, knew what had happened and did not report it. In addition, I was asked to come in Monday to view the footage and when I showed up there was no footage to see. It had already been deleted based on their video storage system. Clarissa says that the incident happened in an area that is a blind spot for the camera. I do not feel that a child of 18 months can rip someone's hair completely from their scalp. Clarissa had been rude to me on previous occasions(I reported this to the director), on 3 instances I came to the center and my son was soaking wet(pants and diaper with urine), and his face would often be dirty. I reported this incident to the Mesquite police and Texas department of child care licensing. This was a heartbreaking experience for me because I explain to them all I went through emotionally after my son attended his previous center and the exact same thing happened here. The director is unaware of what happens at her center, and the teachers are inadequate and incapable of caring for children.

The chemistry teacher taught online for half a year because the school was unable to secure a visa. Another teacher was hired in the middle of the year; however, the school has not provided any information regarding her IB experience or certification. This lack of transparency makes it difficult for parents to assess whether IB standards are being met. The school's salary and benefits package appears to be uncompetitive within the local market, which may explain the hiring challenges. At the same time, the school continues to allocate funds to cosmetic updates such as repainting facilities and redesigning the website through third-party contractors. This raises reasonable questions about budget priorities. Overall, student academic outcomes do not appear to be the school's primary focus. Additionally, it is publicly known that the director's wife works in UX design; beyond this, the rationale for the recent urgency to redesign the school's website remains unclear.

DIS is caring and also provides structure and curriculum that has our daughter coming home speaking french, and singing french songs. The teachers communicate well by sending daily updates, weekly pictures, and by providing the curriculum so we can reinforce what she has learned at home. Everyone at DIS cares about our daughter; from her teachers and the teachers assistants that are with her everyday, to the receptionist that greets her daily - "Bonjour!" We love DIS, the community feel, and are so grateful for the opportunities it will provide our daughter.
