My nose was broken, but I didn't think it was that bad. I told them I didn't want any Xrays, but they told me I "had to" so I did. The Xrays found nothing, as I suspected, so helpful! They also told me I would not be permitted to leave until I had gotten my tetanus shot, which I was refusing because I dislike shots. I finally allowed it, and later found out that they had security outside my door in case I tried to leave! Wow, sad. Overall an extremely unpleasant experience and obvious scheme to inflate my bill, shameful tactics by HSHS. Very sad! Next up, I attempted to apply for financial assistance. I applied for financial assistance and filled out all the needed documents. They denied it and asked for more documents, requesting LOTS of documents that were difficult to get a hold of, taking a lot of my time and effort. They do this on purpose to discourage people from getting the documents and not attempting the financial assistance request. That's too bad, I got all the documents and sent them everything they request. They denied it AGAIN, even though all documents were there. They requested screenshots of every account I had, bank, HSA, Venmo, Paypal, etc. I sent this clear as day, with some additional PDFs of the banking and HSA. They said "it was too blurry to accept the screenshots." This is what they asked for! I've sent just about every financial form possible, and yet they state that they don't have enough information to make a decision. Evasion of responsibility, continuing to blame me and HSHS refusing to process my claim. Shameful. I sent an email to ask for an extension, as they gave me very little time after this last denial. I also asked which documents they still needed, as I thought I had sent them all. Their email back avoided my question about which documents are needed and plainly just said "unfortunately we cannot offer an extension". And stated I would be officially denied on the extension deadline. Rude staff, forceful treatment, and I've been harassed through this financial aid process. What a joke, STAY AWAY!!
