Music is performed by a band on stage and the music is modern. 2 large projector screens display messages being delivered and the band/pastor preaching the word. Not your typical church setup -- no stained glass or mural style painting here. Dramatic lighting and a large cross set the scene for the theater style stage. Pastor Mike is very good at what he does. Admits flaws and speaks his opinion but knows there can be multiple interpretations to everything. Very personable. Great mix of funny and thoughtful in delivering his sermons that always keep me intrigued. I would recommend Northbrook to anyone looking to hear the word of God in a very inviting environment.

This persisted throughout the service whenever music was played. One should not have to subject oneself to permanent hearing loss when going to church. The music is an obnoxious distraction, and actually harmful to attendees physical health. Shame on you for not realizing that. And no, the earplugs that you have available are not the answer!

I was so impressed by the Pastor Josh, his wife Lisa and church that I became a member. The volunteers are always helpful and smiling! I was born and raised Catholic and always had questions no one could really answer... so I always felt lost. When I found Lakeland Community Church, I felt like I was "home"! I get so much out of the weekly sermons. I frequently feel like the message was "directed and meant just for me and where I'm at in my life." I look so forward to every Sunday message. I must not be alone, since the church has grown and they are constantly expanding. There are small groups you can join that will help strengthen your journey in life and your relationship with Jesus. Recently, they opened up a Lakeland play land/park which is 5000 ft.² for children to play, all free and open to the community. During spring break, the Playland was so busy with children and their families that it hit capacity several times. So I would say that Lakeland's Playland is a huge hit with the church and the local communities!! My Grandson (7y) has given it a huge "thumb up"!! Lots of younger energetic people intermixed with a few older people. We sat next to a couple in their 70s and were welcomed with hugs, handshakes and plenty of cheerfulness. The older lady next to us gave us a intro through narrative during the service which was nice. The pastor is young and fiery. I like that he uses a comedy approach and can elicit laughter to make a point. Church, in my humble opinion, should be a welcoming environment that uplifts your soul while gently reminding us all that we are responsible for our own decisions, but there is guidance available to those in need. The fire and brimstone approach is a fear tactic to scare people into submission... this pastor has no need for that because he is an excellent orator and can relate to those in his flock. He seems to be one of Milwaukee's best and brightest. The city is lucky to have this family leading the way. We also used the child care and greatly appreciated the extra attention they gave to be security focused and friendly at the same time. We now consider this our home Church.
