There is also more gravel rather than lawn, which limits the usable space of the "backyard". The water views are still lovely and the bushes, flowers, shrubbery nice and well-maintained. Years ago, we were unable to use our own caterers without a lot of negotiation, additional costs and proof of insurance, not to mention covering the costs of the caterers transportation (which we offered to do). The staff over a decade ago felt impersonal and stand-offish, unfriendly and not wishing to be bothered by confirming reservations, nor addressing any questions we had in regards to our wedding day and the property. I hope things have gotten better, and that the people one works with now are more communicative, friendly and happy/willing to help.

About an hour and a half from where we all live, and one of us from San Diego. We visit every High tea house we can where ever we travel, even local ones in Seattle and surrounding. Out of the country, etc...But we never heard of Dahlia Cove. Only reason why I found this place was because of Yelp. All four of us were pleasantly surprised. You first walk in and they had an array of cute items for purchase. Of course I had to get a teapot necklace. It's a family owned business. The owner and her family were great hostess. Not to mention the food was wonderfully delicious. And we've been to some pretty nice afternoon tea places. This one was one of our faves. It's quite a drive, so it would have to be for special occasions. I would totally take my family here. I know my husband would even enjoy it. The decor was fun. We all loved it. Place was also clean. With some many businesses including tea places closing we hope this place thrives, and stay busy. Until we meet again.

Upon walking to the entrance, you're greeted by a large anchor, a big motor and an amazing view of the water. A perfect place to snap some photos or just sit and take in the scenery. Entrance is pretty cheap: $4 for adults and $3 for children, seniors and students. Not too bad for a short educational experience, but be warned: It's cash only! Inside you'll see original pieces of the town and duplicated setups of the area's most popular spots like the hotel, ships, bedrooms, and more. They have signs at each spot for you to read and understand what you're looking at. I'd recommend checking it out if you've walked around the rest of Port Gamble. It just gives you a little bit more insight and sort of pieces everything together for you. The lady at the counter was great about providing some additional information if you needed any elaborations and even told us that they do paranormal tours during Halloween. More of a reason to come back, even though she hasn't experienced any hauntings herself. After the tour, they have a gift shop upstairs as well as a cafe. Just gives you another opportunity to fuel up and take in some of the sights. We came during a rainy day and the views were still great. When the sun is shining, I'm sure they are even better! Parking is a cinch. Plenty of free parking all over the area.

I was in! Upon arriving, seeing the beautiful old houses, a cute authentic general store, and amazing views of the sound, I couldn't wait to explore it further. Plenty of parking, I headed down to check out the beach, on the way seeing that during the summer season, there are kayak rentals (another reason to return) what made the beach interesting, besides a ton of seashells, was that it was adjacent to where the town in the old days had their dump and landfill, so over time, the old glass was finding its way onto the beach, Cool stuff! A little bit like the glass beach near Fort Bragg, Cali. Definitely enjoyed walking through the town, appreciating the buildings and houses and history. They have guest houses for rent, there was a wedding going on, so that's another venue available, lots of gift and art shops and a cute Tap House I'll review as well. We got married at St. Paul's Church in Port Gamble on October 29, 2016. We used the church as our…read moreceremony site only. The church was absolutely beautiful and the perfect size our wedding. I was a little worried in the beginning because we invited 190 people and the church only seats 150 people - it ended up working out though because we only had about 140 guests come to the wedding. We received lots of compliments on the church and people kept asking us how we found it. The staff were great to work with. We lived about 2 hours away from the venue so most of our communication was over email. When we decided to make a trip up there to meet with our reception site, the staff at Port Gamble Weddings were very accommodating to let us into the church and take some pics for our florist. It was really nice because the venue provided a day of coordinator to help with timing and that kind of stuff. Eric Ayala was our day of coordinator and I must say, he was a calming presence on what can be a very stressful day. He was so kind, calm and professional. He was also there at the rehearsal the day before and was just as kind then. I would definitely recommend this church to anyone looking for a nice church without all of the hassle of using other churches.
