This location specifically is my favorite. (They have 1 downtown Poulsbo and another opening in Silverdale) It's the OG and everything about it whispers cozy coffee shop. It's not a huge place so it's kind of forced into being cozy but they have used the space well. Even have a drive through. Though fair warning as this is the best coffee around that drive through line leaks onto the main rd and you may be better off just going inside. They also have such unique specials for espresso based drinks. I have never been led wrong by their flavor combos. The also sell single origin ethiopa coffee and canned cold brew, 2 things I am always on the hunt for.

Caffe Cocina "The Good, the bad, and the ugly"…read more Caffe Cocina is surprisingly busy, perhaps due the the Finn Hill Road drive through? I have very mixed feelings about this local Poulsbo, and soon to be Silverdale, establishment. The good: Caffe Cocina's food is arguably the best reason to visit one of their cafes. In particular, the chicken chorizo breakfast burritos are really delicious! The drink selection is extensive with some innovative twists on lattes and other coffee and tea based drinks. Unfortunately, I really judge a coffee shop on its ability to brew a really flavorful cup of black coffee - I will come back to that later in the review. The bad - The Finn Hill road location has mediocre to bad customer service depending on the day and the shift. Unless you are a charismatic individual under the age of 30, you are likely to be received with no shortage of attitude and general disdain...as if it is your pleasure to be ignored for as long as possible and then to have your order taken with the type of apathy that I would normally approach a Monday morning work conference call where you know you are going to have to listen to that one coworker that seems enamored with their ability to ask questions on points already sufficiently covered...I digress. The downtown location has much friendlier service, so head there if you do not require drive through services. The ugly - The coffee and coffee beans, probably tolerable if you are having an espresso-based drink, but I would shy away from the drip coffee and the beans for brewing coffee at home. The coffee is frankly over roasted, too oily, and decidedly one note for most of the beans that I have tried. I have sampled dark, medium, light roasts and single origins and have not tried anything worth recommending. Should this have been a 3 or a 4 star review? That depends on the location you are visiting and what you are visiting for. If you simply focus on the downtown location, I would by default increase this to a (4) star review due to the excellent customer service and the fact that they offer a pour over (unfortunately, the coffee is still mediocre). If you are visiting the Finn Hill location for anything other than the food, I stand by my (3) star review which is frankly generous given my experience most visits.

The Old Alcohol Plant Inn is a very beautiful three star hotel that is an excellent place to rejuvenate and unwind if you have an artistic or a romantic soul. This is a 115 year old industrial building that has been converted into a very unique hotel. We recently stayed at one of the top five star hotels in Seattle and I would say we had a way better time with way better hospitality here. The passion and the pride that goes into this hotel and property is unlike anything we've experienced and made us huge fans of this place. Looking to escape the record heatwave, we booked a couple days here at the Old Alcohol Plant Inn and spent a couple days bumming around Port Hadlock and Port Townsend. We had a great time! First checking in, we were greeted by the front desk who were some of the best we've encountered. Super nice and everything was great and easy. I really have to compliment the hospitality and how nice the front desk staff was as it was noteworthy. We booked the executive suite on the 4th floor and we loved it! A huge 1,000 square foot room with a bedroom separated from the main room by a unique step up higher level design. We really liked the hot tub in the room and everything was very nice. The bathroom also had a unique setup with both a bathtub/shower and a separate shower. This suite also had a very cool outdoor balcony you could hang out on. One of the more unique hotel suites we've had The best thing about the executive suite was the spectacular view looking out over the marina, the beautiful garden and the ocean. My wife and I loved just gazing out at the water and the garden from our room and watching the world go by. Incredibly relaxing and nice. I really was impressed with the passion and the staff here. Every person we interacted with was exceptional, passionate and working extremely hard. From the front desk staff who were one of our most pleasant travel experiences. To the lady working in the restaurant who never stopped moving tending so many different tables and people. To the gardener we saw working his butt off in the heat pulling weeds in the garden and keeping it beautiful. To John, the maintenance man. I really have to give a shoutout to John who was AWESOME!!! Just a great dude. We were having an issue with our air conditioner in our room and John came up, took care of everything and was just a pleasure to deal with. The entire team here really pulled together to make our experience here great. I felt they were exceptional and went above and beyond any other travel experience we've had recently. We only had a bottle of wine in the restaurant so I cannot comment on the food, but I thought the lady waitress was amazing with how hard she was working. There was only one lady working four different areas with two dining rooms, outside and a bar area. So we were more than forgiving and understanding as she was doing her best to take care of everyone. But the lady was great and we enjoyed hanging out in there. Cool space. I really enjoyed learning about the history here. Looking at all of the neat photographs and work. And appreciating how loved and unique this place is. From the scores of famous artists and thinkers who've spent time here. To looking at all of the architecture inside and thinking about how this place was built in 1911 originally as a factory to convert sawdust into alcohol. I have to admit this place isn't going to be for everyone. Being a 115 year old building and the nature of this hotel being part of a bigger overall community help project, there will be some quirks and eccentric qualities to this hotel. There's no pool here and there's not a whole lot for kids here. Also if you're some Karen who thinks you're going to get a 5 star experience for under $500 a night in a 115 year old building, not only are you delusional but this may not be for you. But if you're a romantic or an artist type. You'd like to create a special memory with a special someone. Or you'd just like to drink some wine, enjoy some beauty and mellow out in great vibes, it is hard to beat the Old Alcohol Plant Inn. A great place to stay for relaxation or if you want to explore Port Townsend and the local area.

Even though the place was bustling, service was patient and friendly. Lots of outdoor seating, and the coolest part is you can grab a cider and watch the animals that are part of the petting zoo farm. The highland cows, alpacas, and goats are adorable and well cared for. Also love that there's now a food truck there sometimes. Plenty of parking, too - my only wish is that there be a traffic light at their intersection as it's very difficult to turn in and out. Not their fault!

I got the lorelai a fig & caramel latte with oat milk, it was a bit on the sweet side almost felt like a dessert but I'm not complaining it was amazing, my daughter had the banana pancake latte and it was equally delicious, wish I had more time to try the rest of the flavors but we were only in town for a day. I can't forget to mention they have the most beautiful flower arrangements for sale and the service was excellent our barista was so helpful in helping us choose which latte to get based on our preferences. Would definitely return
