Capt. Paul and Capt Dylan took us out on the boat Escape and presented an amazing tour! We started out from the Gulfport location by cruising to a little island near the Shell Key area. Along with finding some amazing shells we caught a nice, yet somewhat cloudy, sunset...got some great pictures regardless. The waters were calm as could be and I have to say here, listen to your Captains when advise you to bring some coats...it gets chilly out there on the water when that sun goes down! They supplied some very warm blankets for their passengers as well. Now, on to the main event... The light show from the vantage point that they are able to get you is amazing! You cannot get these views from anywhere else! I have had the WORST experience with this company. As someone who has worked in the customer service industry for years, they take the cake on terrible service. You can book up to 16 people on the website but when we arrived with our group, we were met with a total of 48 people on a boat. No where was this disclosed that we would be riding around with people we do not know. Our group paid $1300 for this experience just to leave without it. Customer service met us with a nice 10% discount for their miscommunication. We were also told this is a common misconception and it seems as though they have a script for their heat case customers. We could see through the rehearsed verbiage. Fixing your website to disclose the fact you are shoving a bunch of people on one boat instead of the tricky advertisement would save you from having to make your employees call your heat cases with no reasonable solution in sight. read more

From the moment we stepped on board, the captains made us feel SAFE, welcomed, and CELEBRATED. The boat felt like it was gliding on GLASS over the waves, and the beautiful St. Pete Intracoastal ambiance gave us the most GORGEOUS photo ops. Captain Gavin doubled as an incredible DJ (the vibes were immaculate ), and both Captain Barrie and Captain Gavin shared so much cool history about St. Petersburg along the way. This was such a relaxing cruise! I loved the walk on the beach at sunset on SandDollar Key . The view of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge was spectacular. Captain Paul stopped and let us take lots of pictures and Captain Dillon took pictures of each group with the bridge in the background. We also got to take pictures under the Bayway Bridge and the Tierra Verde Bridge lit up in purple and white. Three hours was a perfect amount of time. The prices of drinks on board were very reasonable. Captain Paul and Captain Dillon took great care of us on the cruise and made it a very enjoyable experience. My mom has been wanting to go on a dolphin watching cruise for a long time, so we took her on the Dolphin and Shell Key adventure with Coastal Cruises. It was very efficient to book online for the whole family. A lot of other dolphin charters cap at 6 people, and don't allow children under 3. Coastal Cruises was able to accommodate my family of 8 with 2 young children. We got incredible views of dolphins, and had a great time exploring the beach. They even have a mini bar on board. I attended St. Pete Coastal Cruises on a Sunday evening for a class trip for some students at my school. We did the Sunset Dolphin Cruise that stops at Shell Key. They selected Coastal Cruises based off of it being ranked number 1 for things to do in St. Pete on TripAdvisor. I was the teacher chaperone on the trip. For this trip I received multiple reminder emails about location, departure time, and a cold weather notice which was very helpful because I am SO glad I brought a blanket. Our captains were Dylan and Justice and they were both awesome and seemed to really enjoy their jobs. Justice was a great tour guide and he a good driver. Dylan was helpful and kind to all members on the cruise and gave blankets to people who looked cold, including my students. This is a very professional business and fun idea. Plenty of awesome photos ops and the sunset was gorgeous. The only reason it is 4 stars instead of 5 is because we did not see any dolphins sadly and it was very cold. To things the business couldn't really control. I would gladly go back for another cruise in the warmer months! Overall really fun time! read more

We went on the Dolphin and Shelling Tour! It was a chilly day (January birthday) and windy but Captain Tim and Captain Bri were excellent. Offered blankets if needed and got us to the shelling island safely! We saw some dolphin on the way over that were close by and one literally was right by the front of the boat. Perfect for a family day adventure. We had one of our grown daughters and family with us - would love to have both girls and families but our other lives up north. Captain Tim had lots of info about the area we enjoyed hearing! You can buy drinks on board, there's a bathroom if needed. Tips are appreciated. We plan to go on the sunset tour when it warms up some but as natives to Florida we know to go before too hot The boat was super clean and very comfortable! read more

We had family in town and we were looking for something to do that involved a boat cruise and the Sunset - Skyway Light Cruise looked interesting. Located in a small marina behind the Walmart in Gulfport, the company uses a 45-50 foot catamaran. There is lots of bench seating. The boat is very nice and well cared for. The crew consisted of a captain and a first mate. They both had great personalities. They were friendly, welcoming and eager to ensure that the passengers were enjoying their experience. The first part of the cruise involves roughly a 30 minute stop at Sand Dollar Island, which is timed to watch the sun set into the Gulf, The island is very small and the sunset was beautiful. We also saw a few dolphins along the way, which our guests enjoyed seeing. The second part of the trip is a cruise to the Sunshine Bridge to enjoy the colorful lights that shine on the bridge. It is a very nice view that can only be viewed by boat. There is a very limited selection of refreshments offered for sale (a couple of Copa wines, a couple of beers and some can cocktails). I have two complaints/disappointments. First, there was a large monitor behind the small bar on the boat that we faced in our seats. The monitor blocked our view of the water on that side of the boat and severely limited our view and the experience. Also, they really pack passengers together on the boat and I was seated next to a passenger that kept leaning into me. If they truly care about their passengers' comfort, they should limit the number of passengers to a number that will ensure that they do not feel like sardines. read more

What a fun evening! Our boat left promptly at 6:30 pm and our 2 captains were a joy. I must admit I thought the boat would be much bigger, but in the end it worked. Leaving the marina you see cute little houses with everyone sitting outside enjoying a cocktail and waving, You then pass mansion upon mansion until they are out on the open water and they let it rip. We had a beautiful warm evening so it was great. They have music blasting and there is a bar, with very limited drinks. Our first stop was Sand Dollar Island, where we could walk around for 1/2 hour, take pictures and enjoy the sunset. Some shells, but no sand dollars. The sunset was pretty. Back on the boat to head toward the Skyway Bridge light show. We saw several dolphins along the way, which is always fun. The water was very choppy, so we were getting sprayed and they kept apologizing. We were having fun and enjoying the ride, so it didn't matter. The bridge is beautiful! Apparently every night is a different color scheme. Our night was blue and it truly was special. Pictures don't do it justice. After sitting under the bridge awhile, we then took a 45 minute ride back to the dock. Some of it was at a fast pace, but once we got back to residential area we slowed down and could enjoy the lit up buildings against the dark sky. Just a few tips. If you have a larger party, you get seated first on the boat. Couples get squeezed in wherever they can fit them. There is a bathroom on the boat. We really didn't need towels to sit on the beach. You aren't there long enough to really bother. read more

My mom, my son and I took the dolphin watching and shelling trip while on vacation to the area. It was a cold morning, and thankfully the boat had big blankets they handed out. The captains, Paul and Tim, were very pleasant and helpful on the trip. We saw a few dolphins and a lot of sea birds. We found tons of shells on the shelling portion of the trip. My only suggestion is to provide bags for the shells. We thought they would be provided and fortunately had a bag that we were able to use. All in all, it was a great morning! read more

I went on the Skyway night bridge cruise and it was excellent. The price will be hard to beat for a 3 plus hour tour with a stop at sand dollar island by Ft Desoto. Great boat that is super clean, inexpensive adult beverages, attentive crew and good trip path. The bridge is very cool to see at night with all colored lighting underneath it. This was a wonderful date night for me and my wife and I highly recommend it. I have been wanting to go to Edmonton Key and I think we will do that for a day trip in the near future.
