The worst school I've ever attended. I've been here when I was in middle school and my time there…read morewas painful frustrating and traumatizing. Firstly the principal and dean at this school did nothing but yell and say horrible things to all of those children 24/7 just because they weren't doing unnecessary things that were part of the "structure" and standards of "discipline" in charter schools like the way someone sits in their seat during any class, or the way that they stand in line or hold their binders and other petty stuff like that. Yes, it's a charter school, but then again the things that the teachers and dean of students and principal would say to these kids and the tone that they would speak in were extremely unnecessary and to hear it all day everyday would get annoying after a few weeks.....Growing up, I suffered from multiple mental diagnosis that include autism, and oppositional defiance disorder, meaning I don't like to be yelled at and I don't like to be told to do things in a disrespectful tone from anyone, and the staff and team and everyone who works at this campus knew of it all but disregarded it and continued to handle me in any way they wanted to which lead to me getting triggered and emotionally disturbed and also caused me to act out sometimes. I have been physically harmed and abused by security guards, pair professionals, staff, and the dean of students at this school because of my breakdowns and hiccups and I have been threatened to be beaten and painfully restrained by other staff because the mental disabilities that I've struggled with growing up caused me to act out aggressively verbally when I get yelled or cursed at, and the ways that these staff reacted to my outbursts were by getting up and putting me in to head locks and or full Nelson holds and slamming me on to the ground or into a chair, twisting my arms or banging my head into walls and or metal furniture. I must remind you that I was only 14 and these were grown men twice my size manhandling me because I never knew how to control my emotions. I've tried to report these situations of mistreatment to the principal and his supervisor, but They would never do anything about it. Since I've went to this school, I have had a hatred for security guards and I am extremely biased to teachers and deans of students and the entire Chicago international charter school board and I have never been through such a horrible system since I was at a group home in a state that had barely any laws against child abuse. Please don't put your children in this school. It will scar them for life if not turn them into a traumatized robot.
