First, I went to the wrong door, the cones blocking the side entrance, I guess, are to point you to the side entrance to get to the polling place. Then I spotted a small sign posted on a door, not the entrance, with an arrow. I just had my eyes checked and this sign was smaller than any of the print on that famous eye chart. Okay, continue on, to another door. Once inside, you have to hunt for the signage to point you to the polling place. You knew you could not go straight because of the metal gate blocking the hall. I understand, protect the children, but really, could you make it any harder to vote???? So, I arrive, no you do not need my identification. Then you give me some big ass piece of paper, another piece of paper, and in my pinkie ~ a pen. I walk over. Hello, it's 2014, don't you have any computerized voting? You have to ask, they have one. Frustration is high. Of course, now that I know the ropes, I will drive to wherever I have to drive for early voting. Civic duty complete.

I was…read moreapprehensive (to say the least) about putting him in daycare, but it was something I needed to do. So I did my due diligence and started hours and hours of research. The usual "chain" daycare names came up, but I didn't really want to go that route. My husband and I set aside a day to do some visits to non-chain daycares that were reviewed well and thought they were fine, but I didn't think I had found "the one." So as we drove home I did one last search and Kids Kampus came up - we called and were told we could come tour anytime so we dropped in 5 minutes later. I was immediately struck by how friendly Maria (who had answered my call) was. She gladly toured us around the center and answered our hundreds of questions - even answered some things we didn't think to ask. As we looked around, we were struck by how clean the facilities were, how well equipped every room was, the great outdoor play area, and how kind all the teachers were. But mostly we noticed how much fun the kids seemed to be having. I walked out knowing I had found the one. In 2 years, Kids Kampus has been amazing. They were fully cooperative, compliant, and glad to work with us regarding our son's food allergies. They educated themselves on food allergies, cross-contamination, worked with their outside caterer on special requests, and anything else we were concerned about without hesitation. They also accommodate his speech therapy without hesitation. I've got a little boy who is FULL of energy (and opinions) and they've always treated him as if he were one of their own. Everyone from the owners to directors to staff is patient, kind, and always go above and beyond. I have never had a moment's hesitation about my son's health, safety, or happiness in their care. And the app they use to keep track of his day is pretty cool, too! I recommend Kids Kampus to everyone who asks about high quality care for their children. I am so happy with my choice to attend the Reading Tree program. I had other friends in similar ACT prep programs with hundreds of students being taught by very few teachers. They said that they felt as if they "never got any personalized attention" and that it was a "waste of time." I found this to be the complete opposite at the Reading Tree. The teachers were warm and patient (regardless of the level of the student), and they always had an answer to my questions. The intimate environment really made me feel that my success was a primary goal to the program. Along with the books we received for homework and practice tests, we got a binder that had so many different helpful hints and tricks that I used when I took my test (and my test results confirmed...they definitely work). I felt the homework assignments to be well thought-out and relevant to what we needed to focus on. I can't say enough about how successful I feel the Reading Tree program is.
