The girls absolutely love Miss Tara, Miss Julia, and all the teachers they interact with, coming home excited each day to share stories of their day. One of my daughters even has a half-day at school before being brought to daycare by the school bus, and she's always met on time, making for a smooth transition to the rest of her day at Guidepost. My son is starting to talk now, and it's incredible to hear the new words he learns at daycare. Miss Nereida and Miss Jelena have a special bond with him, and he clearly loves his time with them. The positive energy he and my girls bring home is wonderful. The daycare also does an amazing job encouraging independence. It's heartwarming to see the kids come home and confidently clean up after meals or playtime. When we showed up with our daughter for day 1 of the 2nd 6 weeks, we were shocked when they said we had not enrolled. Then they lied to us and said the session was full; we had a friend call the next day and found they had room. It wasn't until after repeated calls and emails that the director (does not deserve this title) informed us it was due to our child's behavior. We were only notified once of any issues and we immediately addressed them. In addition, we asked every day how things were and were always told "good" and "fine" and were never again contacted about any behavior issues. If we had been, we would have dealt with them but the lies and deceit are so very unprofessional and unethical. We have filed a formal complaint with the BBB of Chicago and have done the same with the Village of Oak Park. Our child did love Academia and is heart broken, is this how an institution of child learning acts and behaves? Buyer beware with this place!!

She giggles and is so proud of herself in the afternoon waving goodbye to Ms. Serenity and her teachers, with her little "bye bye". Ms. Sheila and Ms. Tamilla in the infant room take such amazing care of her, that most days she doesn't want to come home! She absolutely loves being at school with her teachers and friends, and that says SO much about the staff and their dedication to the children. Still better than anything my mom cooked. The blocks and train sets....omg. The kids were nice too. I remember "strawberry girl". She didn't say much if anything, but she was nice and often wore a smock with a strawberry on the front. I'm so glad my mom took me here so she could have some "mommy time".' Making additional donations to the school (on top of tuition) is encouraged, perhaps that would've helped with communication! We enjoyed the infant and toddler programs, but the early childhood class experience was a failure on many levels. Too many children per teacher. We could sense the overwhelming focus on logistics, ironic for Montessori method while they always touted education. Our son's doing so much better in a different preschool. Overall Seton was a disappointment and their early childhood program needs an overhaul.
