They did not accept cash so we had to scan an app with our phone and charge it to our credit card. Seemed like and excessive price to pay for a high school game. We got a seat in the bleachers and as soon as we sat down they began to blast music so loud we couldn't hear anything. They continued to blast every time one of the teams scored or there was a time out. I suppose the kids like it, but it will be our last time to attend. We've been to other schools that played music at games, but not the overkill like it was here.

I graduated from Mercy Academy. Mercy has continued to grow and change for the positive since I graduated. Opened by the Sisters of Mercy, they have a rich, faith-based tradition of education young women. (It's a all girls Catholic school.) The faculty is very devoted. The school moved to it's current location in 2007, and it is truly state of the art. That kind of tradition mixed with amazing facilities, plus fantastic people (faculty, staff, students, alumnae), really make Mercy the very special place it is. As an alumna now, I am so proud of my alma mater and am happy to continue to support it. Mercy Academy even was just recently nationally certified as a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) school--the first in Kentucky and the first all-girl school in the nation!! In my previous job, I had the opportunity to regularly work with Mercy girls and staff, and I was constantly impressed. If you're researching high schools in Louisville, I can't say enough great things about Mercy! Go Jags!

My time…read morethere is largely filled with good memories, and I'm still friends with several of my fellow Mercy girls 8 years later. My only note is, my good friend and I both have varying levels of learning disabilities, and we both had bad experiences with some staff as a result. Certain teachers did not treat us with much kindness or patience. Granted, this was years ago, and the main teacher we had problems with doesn't appear to be employed by Mercy anymore, so it may no longer be the case. If your child has a learning deficiency, please be sure she is treated with respect by her teachers! Edit: I talked to another friend of mine who went to Mercy (a couple years behind me), and she echoed our feelings of bad experiences due to special circumstances. She doesn't have a learning disability, but she struggled with serious health problems her entire senior year. She missed a lot of school due to being in the hospital and said the assistant principal treated her unfairly, as if she was making up her health issues, and almost didn't allow her to make up the work she missed. It was terribly stressful for her. So, again, just make sure if your daughter needs extra accommodations, that she is treated fairly and compassionately.

It was a long wait and when I finally got to the end I realized why. There were two ladies at checkout and one only took cards and the other only took cash. The cash lady was sitting there with nothing to do because everyone was paying by card. It should have been that both people took cards but only one would also take cash. It would have sped things up considerably. Also there were some items that you had to stand in a whole other line to get, which was fine but I was tired of waiting so I didnt go over to see what was offered there. In any case I got a fish sandwich (good thickness, decent flavor), a slice of cheese pizza (basic, what you would expect) and fries (probably the best thing which was a little sad since those were definitely pre packaged). Would I come back? Yeah probably, the people watching was immaculate (so many drunk people at 5pm?) and I might go to the other line next time because it was shorter. Oh and bring CASH.

I am a student here and I am having a fantastic time. Graduate school is really a lot of work but…read morethe Seminary works really hard to provide the students with support and human care while enrolled. I already have a graduate degree so this isn't my first time in "even higher Ed" but this is my first time in such a gentle community of scholars and feeling really supported not just by the faculty of the school but the professional staff as well. As a student I have not only enjoyed great classes but my internship opportunities have been fruitful as well. There are extra lectures that are open to the community, opportunities to provide public, AND because it is Presbyterian everyone is welcome to attend and participate fully but also there are committees where you get to frequently use Robert's Rules of Order. So many committees, so many motions. The Seminary also features a counseling center where you can recieve low-cost therapy for yourself or your family, couple, etc. This is a chill Jesus type of Christian institution and there are several students who are not Presbyterian (I'm not) and even students who don't practice a form of Christianity. These are the most earnest and sincere people I have ever studied or worked with. If you're looking for angry Jesus, he's across the street.

I stayed at a conference on the grounds of the Louisville seminary. While I was a bit hesitant…read more(was it going to be a dorm?), I was really surprised at the very professional accommodations, and the amenities for the room and the common areas (good wifi, coffee, cable tv, the important things). My room was very clean and spacious. It took me a while to find the business center; they had two computers with a printer, but i couldn't get online. The grounds and the locale were particularly impressive, reflective of a very affluent "Kentucky" neighborhood: old trees, endless manicured lawns, a golf course nearby. Considering the political reputation of KY, and the notoriety of a neighboring Southern Baptist Seminary, I was somewhat hesitant about excessive rules or a dominant religiously evangelistic culture, but I thought this location had a good balance, lots of opportunties for spiritual reflection and practice, but not an oppressive expectation of uniformity. Finally, we had breakfast at the school cafeteria, and while it was quiet and typical of a buffet/cafeteria, the grits, casserole, and and eggs and ham were quite adequate. The fruit seemed sort of generic... I would have preferred peaches, pears, etc., that I assume would be plentiful in the autumn, in the south!
