I was familiar with Heritage Church prior to our visit, (I bring donations to their food pantry) and knew they were running 7 services over Easter weekend. I asked my kids if they would like to attend on Saturday as we we near the church- they screamed with excitement!! No joke! So to service we went! The building is situated in the back end of the parking lot, with ample parking. We walked in and we immediately greeted from all angles. I said it was our first time, and without hesitation a friendly woman walked me back to the kids area. Insert the WOW factor here!! The theme was the current movie "Sing" with giant movie quality cardboard cutouts all over. My kids gasped and screamed in excitement- the place had a Playscape inside! The kids area is set up by ages, so that the children learn and play with peers of same age. Everyone was so friendly, it was an amazing community and I instantly felt welcomed. I couldn't get over how many people were buzzing around the building yet it all flowed effortlessly. After I checked all 5 of my kids into their designated area I made my way to the auditorium. Again, nothing but welcoming gestures, hellos and smiling faces. The service was great and the band was mind blowing! That band!! Oh man- uplifting, energetic and really sang messages that spoke to your heart. It was a great service, words don't do it justice. And yes, I'm ok admitting that a few tears were shed during my time there. God is good! My kids had a blast, I loved it. If you're looking for somewhere to belong, or are just curious about Heritage church I say GO! Go check them out. I'll be back.

The worship consisted of traditional hymn-style songs with a reverent and structured tone. The music created a reflective atmosphere that encouraged congregational participation and focus on biblical truths. During my time the sermon was about rediscovering Jesus's true identity and rekindle your relationship with the Good News of Christ. The Pastor shared his own journey of progressing away from a rewards-and-punishments type of thinking towards understanding God's love at a deeper level than he had before. The pastor explained that God's love gives you and I salvation and hope for everyone on this planet, that we are God's beloved children and he also used Matt. 13:31-32 to help us see how Jesus' kingdom continues to grow and develop all over the Earth. One area of the sermon that I found to be of disagreement or of Biblical inaccuracy was how the pastor viewed the Bible at times as a political document rather than as a Christ-centered document; however, the overall message was clearly about Christ.

If you want to be harshly and abruptly judged for being divorced, then by all means, attend here! RESPONSE: Well, when one feels the overwhelming need to defend their character from this "well beyond the mere fact of the divorce", without telling one (in private) specifically what the "well beyond" actually is, then I was clearly at the wrong church! And your perspective of the loose "details" was inaccurate right out of the gate. You can respectfully disagree all you want, but so can I!

They aren't afraid to abandon old programs or do things differently if it means the church becomes more effective at bringing truth and love into people's lives. Sunday services are at 9 and 11, with a separate program for kids at the same time. Family Summit (a service for parents and kids) is at 10:20. The mission statement of the children's ministry is "Partnering with Parents to Teach Kids to Love God and Love Others." They recognize that parents have a lot more time with kids than the church does, so it aims to empower the whole family. Teens gather on Sunday nights, and the Awaken midweek service (with a large meeting and smaller breakout groups focusing on various topics) is Thursday at 7. Visit the well-run Porch Cafe for coffee, specialty drinks, and finger foods between services. Rockpointe's ministry has a local, national, and international focus. One exciting recent development is that three families in the church have committed to spending five years in Africa as missionaries, an effort that the congregation will be helping to support. All in all, Rockpointe is a community that I feel very blessed to be a part of.
