Our experience at at Thomas has been a great one. My daughter loves it here, she loves her teachers, especially her math and Science classes. We came here at the start of the Covid pandemic when public schools were not able to provide our family with the reassurance we needed, that they would do everything r they could to keep kids in the classroom. St. Thomas made good on that promise. Now ending the pandemic (or at least I hope so) I am so very grateful to this school for providing a safe place for my daughter to learn. My daughter is thriving in her classes and coming home to tell me about all the amazing things she got to do and learn while at school. The teachers are so helpful and go above and beyond to educate. During science fair, I had a newborn at home, and Mrs. Vetter took my daughter aside to help her create her science project board, even helping on an administrative day, when the kids were out of school. The last few years have been very difficult on all schools and I feel like St Thomas, as small as they are, have provided us with a safe, happy and educational experience. In the 2 years we have been here, my daughter has excelled in her classes and we can see a huge difference in her reading, math and science. Her love of school is so obvious, she comes home excited to tell us what she has learned. She learns Spanish EVERYDAY! Spanish is included in the daily curriculum, which I find so awesome. They spend tons of time outside, my daughter comes home dirty most days, lol, she is playing, having fun and is happy here. I am so grateful for St Thomas. Schools have had it hard these last couple of years, it has not been easy to hire, get classes covered and stay open.St thomas stated open, masked up, taught outside, used cleaning procedures and fancy air filters, all to keep kids in school. Now, we are happy that these precautions have lessened, and will continue to lessen as the community spread lessens Also, a reviewer said that the school hired a sub without a background check. It is my understanding, because I asked the board, that the sub was background checked and had references through CCISD. St thomas runs their own, but during this time they used a substitute teacher through CCISD, which isn't their normal practice to be fair, but because their own subs were also out sick or at home with someone sick, or were already teaching elsewhere, they used a sub that was in good standing through CCISD. It is my understanding that the public school is asking parents and college students with a small amount of hourly credits to teach bc of the difficulty with hiring during a global pandemic. As a parent, I am okay with how that was handled, given the current climate. St thomas has been bc a wonderful learning environment for my child, we love the small classrooms, amazing teachers and friendly environment read more

This school has been amazing for my son. He was struggling in his over sized public school kindergarten glass and came home every day saying he was bullied and didn't have any friends. It was breaking my heart. After transferring to St. Thomas at the start of first grade, he is thriving. He tells me everyone in the school is his friend! The small classes allow the teachers time to really focus on the whole child, not just turning in papers for grades. The entire staff is wonderful and caring. And my first grader is now starting multiplication and spelling words that my 4th grader (in public school) can't even spell. The best decision we ever made! read more

If you are considering this school, look elsewhere. Sadly, the current Head of School, Colin O'Neal, has completely dismantled it. We are so sad to leave a wonderful community of parents, but it is no longer safe for our children. Over the course of the past year, Mr. O'Neal has demonstrated extremely poor judgment. I wish I could mention all the different incidents that have happened, but most recently these have included denying when children are being bullied to hiring subs without criminal background checks. Thankfully a teacher informed the parents, since the school certainly did not. She was the only teacher in the building that was not a substitute. Since she warned the parents, she was chased by Mr. O'Neal in the parking lot and bullied by being told he would call the police on her for refusing to meet alone with him in his office without a witness present. After the incident, which was humiliating for the teacher, Mr. O'Neal had the assistant director call parents and tell them the teacher needed "administrative leave for her mental well-being" to gaslight her further. The school brought on a new head of school for the 2018-2019 school year and he has done a phenomenal job of reinvigorating what was already a great school. My son is now not only above grade level academically, we have seen a boost to my son's confidence and overall well-being. I love St. Thomas so much I started attending service here! The preacher is extraordinary and his teachings nourish our lives with every service. read more

I really love this school. The teachers are caring and the needs of the students come first. The children are treated like children and not little adults. My ds loves to get up and go to school every single day. The students don't compete with each other but help each other to excel.. It is a perfect environment for elementary. The parental involvement is just right. Everyone I have met this year has been so nice and welcoming. The biggest change is out of school gatherings do not turn into complaining sessions. There is a real sense of community. We fit in here perfectly. I am so glad to have found a place to call home for the next five years. I can't say enough good things about this school!! read more

A waste of money. My son went here for fourth grade back in 2015-2016 for one year. He came from a different private school which we went back to. The teachers were nice so my son didn't mind going. The classes were very small which wouldn't be a bad thing but my son didn't have much to chose from when it came to friends. There were 4 boys including my son in the class and 2 girls. The school really just cared about the money. I say that because 2 of the boys in that class were rejects from public school, so my son got exposed to disrespectful boys. These 2 boys carried their behavior problems over to this school. Most private schools wouldn't accept trouble makers. Also the preacher isn't very friendly which I thought was very strange. He never greeted anyone. He would pass the kids right up. It was definitely just a job to him. They wanted us to come back the next year and asked us many times but I wasn't impressed with how the school was managed. They lie to the parents which is not acceptable. I don't know how this school stays open it should be shut down. read more

I have one daughter that has attended St. Thomas since Pre-K 3 and is now entering Kindergarten. Her teachers have been phenomenal! My daughter is very shy and quiet. Being in a small classroom with a teacher who knows her individually is very important to me. Every year I can see so much growth with her coming out of her shell. She has also received the individual attention needed to challenge her full potential. Thanks to the teachers at St. Thomas, she began reading at age 3, has became more confident in speaking in front of small groups, as well as becoming so knowledgeable about the cultures around the world. This school loves to tuck most things under the rug. They like to tell parents what they want to hear, but not the truth. We had a horrible experience there last school year. They have gone from 85 students 2 years ago down to 58. They have no business being open. The education that you would pay for there is not what your going to get. Save your money. read more
