The Quality I received was throough, as I got help getting off the street. I think they liked my dog, as they took care of him first. Shots, License, check-up. I love Justa Center as they are perfect for getting help when you are homeless. It has been close to 3 years, and I am getting ready to go homeless again, as I am having surgury in the next week, and cannot work to pay my rent. I need more help, this time with a pro bono lawyer about my past that stops me from getting a place I can actually afford. It has been over 23 years, and I still have a record that says 'just live in your car' and my record is really old and now the drug is legal. I will go back to Justa very soon, as soon as I can get some add'l gas to get there. Thanks Justa!

Pulled my car in, a young man walked out pushing a cart, I opened the tailgate and we put the items in his cart and I was done. She taught me about what the organization provided and as a family we participated in their food and clothing drives at church. (More like, it's a big imposition to deal with donors.) The drop-off hours are intricate/limited so be sure to check ahead of time - don't just stop in. Especially on a Saturday (when some people like to take care of errands...) By contrast, the Goodwill across the intersection to the NE has cheerful staff who are anxious to help.

This was my first time volunteering at the new location. Great organization for a great cause…read more As always, I arrived 15 minutes early and followed all of the instructions. Appreciate the lockers for my personal belongings at the presentation area. The rest of the steps and assembly lines were just the way I remembered it. I volunteered at a new station this time, which I very much enjoyed. Totally got a bicep workout out of it. Thank you, FMSC, for a meaningful experience and wonderful memories all these years!

First time to volunteer with this organization and it was an amazing experience! The ease of…read moresigning up for shifts was great, everything is done on-line. We arrived about 15 minutes prior to our 9am shift and there were several groups there as well. We were brought into the large room where the market is located (more in a moment on this) and found lockers to lock our things up (you can't wear hoop earrings, rings, necklaces, etc.). They give you small plastic baggies to put your stuff in; you are also required to wear a hair net and men with facial hair was also required to wear a beard net. We watched a couple of videos that explained what we would be packing and where it was shipped to as well as specifics for the actual packing station. It is so rewarding to know that these Mano Packs are shipped to countries where children suffer greatly from malnutrition. At the end they actually give you a sample of what we packed. It was like a savory oatmeal and included rice, protein, a mixture of dehydrated veggies and a scoop of powdered vitamins and nutrients. It was good actually. We were at a packing station with some others including children and once everyone decided on which job we wanted to do, after a few minutes and bags, we found our packing rhythm. They have a very precise method to the packing of these meal bags and with music, cheering, etc...the two hours flew by! If you are looking for a meaningful volunteer opportunity, check them out. We are going back for a second time and I think we'll make this one of our regular volunteer opportunities. Staff working is great and helpful and so passionate about the work they are doing! The marketplace includes crafts made by the people of the different villages around the world. We learned that not only are the families given food packets but they are also signed up for resources and employment opportunities and everything else in an effort to make their lives better. The marketplace is amazing!

If the food could be used to help those in need, great! I made my way to Extended Hands early. There didn't seem to be signs posted as to where to drive up, although in all honesty, I wasn't really looking. I found the door and thought "great! Easy!" However the woman inside the food bank was very unfriendly. She told me I was in the wrong area and that I needed to pull my car to the back. Struggling with my heavy box, I thought, 'really, lady? Okkk', but then she opened the connecting door and yelled that I was here and that I had brought a box of food and asked the people on the other side if I should leave it or drive around. The other people were pretty nice and said I could leave it. I had a smaller box in the car and I was actually going to leave it, after the encounter I had with the elderly woman, but someone asked if I had any more food and I replied. A younger gentleman came out to my car and took it off my hands. After the unfriendly encounter I had, I don't think I would come back to this food bank. However the people working on the other side where the drop off is, were nicer.

We recently dontaed some off old computers, rams and drive storage to Arizona Students Recycling…read moreUsed Technology (AZ StRUT) They are a nonprofit organization that started in 1997 with help from Intel and Motorola. It is convenient to drive up and drop off on Tuesdays or Thursdays 9-2 pm. They take donated used computers - working or not, repair them and give the items to schools and nonprofits. AZ StRUT works with students in school programs to fix and refurbish old devices. So far, they've provided over 150,000 devices! Today, AZ StRUT also offers "Techie Experiences," where people can learn by working with devices and sometimes keep them. For sale inside are computers and components-open to the public. They are located in the same building as Treasures for Teachers which is a great place to donate extra or unwanted school supplies, small housewares and books. We were able to drop off everything in our vehicle and get donation tax receipts. Easy peasy!

I tend to have a lot of electrical and computer items. This location in Tempe is a little bit more convenient, but I love the intent and idea of the volunteer community and the fact that things could be repurposed. If you have items to drop off, you just pull up, and they will help you unload from your vehicle. They do the rest & sort things out to then determine what they can repurpose and apply. Thankful to have a place like this that really gives back to the community, and glad that I'm able to support not only physically (Volunteering) but also with my donations.
