Pretty cool church, the architecture design is unique and lovely. The colors of the arches and the stained glass complement each other perfectly. There are interesting stations of the cross, nice ironwork, benches, and paintings. One unique thing is the miracle bell which you get to ring if you pray to St. Vincent and he answers your prayers. They have some relics also. I would step inside before mass and look around if you're in the area.

Beautiful interior of St. Vincent Ferrer Church.

Great church on The UES of Manhattan. The interior is beautiful. It brought me back to my art history classes at college - with the columns and vaulted ceilings. This church has a Sunday evening mass at 6PM. I attended mass presided by a young priest. It was refreshing!

A Fellow Yelper encouraged me to visit St. Vincent Church. Today I was early taking my walk. I traveled an extra 1/2 mile. As I turned to head up to my usual daily mass I passed St. Vincent. I thought maybe they begin at 8am?! I would be right on time to check out the church and see how the Dominicans celebrate. I walked in and there was a man at the information desk. I asked him the time of the daily mass. He unemotionally and unenthusiastically said it's 8am like I should know. But this didn't spoil the joy at the beauty I found waiting inside when I opened the inner door. No one appeared upset by my photography. I'm a fan of stained glass and this church is beautiful! The statues and wood carvings are a feast for my eyes. I think I may be a fan of religious art. This church is not lacking. To my amazement when I sat near the front for mass four nuns in full habit came in and sat in front of me. I can't remember when I've been in mass with nuns dressed in habit. So nostalgic a feeling. Not without some memories from my past, both good and bad. Wow! I just remembered I dreamt of nuns last night! That's amazing! Spooky too! Four priests were participating in the mass. Each played an individual role. The mass was precisely at 8am and ended precisely at 8:30am. I like prompt timely ceremonies. The homily was inspiring and easy to relate to. Today was about family and family reunions. Passing our stories down about our ancestors that are no longer with us. I may have the opportunity later this year at my reunion. As I was leaving a kind lady sitting by the statue of St. Vincent began a conversation with me. So kind and welcoming. I can say this strange experience today was meant to be. During my spring and summer days I'm thinking of visiting again. If you like historic churches, religious art, stained, glass, sculptures, any or all of the above, visit this church. Or you may just want to attend mass and be inspired by the story being told. I never get tired of learning something new every day. Or being reminded of what's really important in my life. PEACE ALL!!

This is a Dominican church. Dominicans have the best Preachers as they have complete Fidelity to the Catholic Church, and love for God and all people. The sign of their love is their vow of poverty...they make sacrifices so that we can all go to heaven. That is a lofty goal, and one that draws me closer to my faith. Come listen to a homily. I do, when I need to get away from all the world's noise. There is so much noise in the world that getting away in the middle of the day is gift. Thí church is a little less lit and a little more somber than the other churches I have visited. But this precise condition makes for some lovely tranquility. I stay back for at least 15 minutes to enjoy peace, real peace with a touch of love.

Beautiful old church. Mass usually isn't crowded, even at 10 on Sundays. Great homilies that are modern, relevant and relatable.

I'll never forget it: I was welcomed by an usher who gave me the kind of hug that said, "You're home now." No side-eyes, no judgment--just love, warmth, and a seat in a beautiful space where I could experience the service at my own pace (and catch my breath from walking through Times Square--because whew). The music? Absolutely incredible. The choir will have you praising, swaying, and maybe even forgetting you're wearing those new shoes that weren't made for dancing. It's joyful, powerful, and real--and you don't need to know the words to feel the Spirit. Services are held at 10 AM and 1 PM, so whether you're an early bird or the kind who needs that second cup of coffee (no judgment--I've been both), there's room for you. And yes--they even have discounted parking if you get your ticket stamped. Because even in New York, Jesus is still helping you save. From programs for children to ministries for adults, the church is full of life, love, and purpose. Everyone is treated with kindness and respect. It's a place where people grow, laugh, cry, heal--and worship together. So if you're looking for a church that feels like family, sounds like heaven, and welcomes you just as you are--come through. You just might leave with a full heart, a new friend, and a joyful song stuck in your head all week.

Located along Fifth Avenue across from Rockefeller Center, we walked up to a structure that immediately stands out with its towering Gothic Revival architecture. Once inside, the atmosphere became noticeably quieter, the kind of shift that makes you slow down and appreciate both the history and craftsmanship of the building without the noise of Midtown filtering through. The interior is just as impressive as the exterior. We spent time moving through the space, taking in the soaring ceilings, detailed stonework, stained glass windows, and rows of arches that create a beautiful setting drawing attention in every direction. We found ourselves spending more time walking through the cathedral than we originally expected because there were so many architectural details and smaller chapels to admire. Even without visiting for religious reasons, the artistry and design made the stop feel intentional rather than just a quick look inside. Despite welcoming a large number of visitors each day, the cathedral still maintains a peaceful atmosphere. People naturally speak more quietly, and it never felt overly chaotic during our visit. It is an active place of worship, so being respectful of those attending Mass or spending time in prayer while exploring the cathedral is important. Admission to enter the main cathedral is free, making it one of the easiest historic landmarks to visit while exploring Midtown Manhattan. If you are interested in learning more about the building's history and areas that are not normally accessible, guided tours are also available, but simply walking through the main sanctuary is worthwhile on its own. The contrast between the peaceful interior and the energy of Midtown Manhattan made the visit memorable, and the architecture alone makes it one of the city's most impressive landmarks.

The alter has been brought down to the center of the beautiful historic building. The parishioners sit in a semi circle around the alter. The priests and chorus are behind. I was on the side today but felt included. The mass is modern and prayers for everything and everyone. If you want something/someone included during mass you just fill out a paper and let them know. The mass is simple. The responses are sung. I enjoy the chorus. My friend is in the chorus. In fact my family has attended this church in the past. I've got a lot of musicians in my family that made their living playing orchestra in the shows. But that's another story! The church design and decor are so beautiful. There are a lot of angels painted on the the walls. They do not mind picture taking. I'll go back for service and take pictures of the Angels I'm sure!! I see people of every age, elderly, middle age, people in work uniforms, small children, college age, teens and expectant mothers. You name it everyone is covered. They have plenty of room for strollers to be wheeled in the back. Parents walk and rock to quiet babies during service. I find their dedication to attend mass inspiring. Dress is not important. I saw one girl in zebra print work out pants. What I'm trying to say is, this is not an elitist church like some I attend. It's not a wealthy Parrish I'm sure. They pass the baskets two times for donations. I highly recommend if you are in the neighborhood!! Visitors are welcome.

It is dubbed as the "Actor's Chapel" for its endorsement of the actors in the nearby broadway theaters and of the performing arts in general. With exception to the European pastor, I have always been impressed with the pastors here as they have been entertaining, witty, and very lively during their sermons. The place may look small from the outside but easily fits a solid crowd of perhaps 200-300. Their choir is decent, but don't appear all that frequently. Whats certain for sure is they definitely have money as their song pamplets are printed out the DAY of, in color, with legible fonts, and a decent layout. I hope they recycle because that stuff is by no means cheap. Beats using a cheap ol psalms book I suppose.
