Because he chose to monitor to wait to see how things cleared up with minimal intervention, I was able to avoid some bigger interventions, which I really appreciated. Dr. Gartner is the best dentist I've ever seen; and the receptionists, dental assistants, and the other hygienist, Rose, were always terrific. One day I had a cleaning scheduled for 8:00 AM and Christina was the hygienist. Before I was in the chair she asks why I'm seeing her today. I said to get a cleaning. Then she presses me why I didn't schedule an appointment with Rose. I have no idea where she's coming from or asking me how I ended up with her. This was the day and time that was scheduled, what more can I say. When scheduling a cleaning, I've never been asked or given a second thought about who the hygienist would be. I thought it would be whoever is working the day of the appointment. It really felt like she was pissed off and she made the atmosphere weird and uncomfortable. During the cleaning she started to gag me and I raised my hand to signal that I needed a break and she angrily asked me if I have a gag reflex. I said yes (I mean who doesn't??), and then she smacks me across my shoulder and says "why didn't you tell me before we began". This experience turned me off to Chesapeake Periodontics. I've never been treated with such unprofessionalism and disrespect and will not return.

Always fits me in like for bonding a broken tooth. Great work, no one can tell it broke. No constant billing insurance problems like others. No sales tactics. No heavy sell for unnecessary wisdom tooth removal. It happened to my sibling. The dentist says I'm referring you to oral surgeon. Your Wisdom teeth might be infected. But Wouldn't I have symptoms of an infection? Not always. Sib goes to surgeon. Oral surgeon does very very hard sell for surgery. Sibling signs up for it. Asks surgeon is there anything wrong with me teeth? No they are healthy. Sibling Goes home, thinks about it, then cancels the surgery. Smh. Avoid hygienist Mary something. She's the one that gets all the walkin and new patients because they don't know better. She Works too fast so she pokes me in the gums 100 times. Saw her once more, asked for gentle and slow. She did better but not enough to make me see her again. The others are awesome! There are steps. Not wheelchair (or stroller) accessible because landlord refuses to put in elevator or outdoor lift. As a result dr Deitrick loses his elderly patients that don't climb steps.
