Highly recommend Crownsville Dental and Wellness Solutions!…read more Making an appointment was a breeze. I barely sat down when I was called back for my scheduled appointment. Jennifer, my hygienist, did an amazing job and put me right at ease with her skill and expertise. Dr R. is very caring and truly listens to the concerns of his patients. I scheduled back-to-back appointments for my husband and I, fully transparent about the fact that we would have our toddler with us. Was told that would not be an issue! My appointment was for 8 o'clock and my husband's appointment was set for 8:30. They came out to get him at 9. When my husband expressed concern about bringing our toddler back, without my appointment being done, he was told it would be fine. However, still feeling uncomfortable, he chose to reschedule--and was initially told that was acceptable. When I came out my appointment at 9:15, and didn't see my husband in the waiting room I inquired where he was? The receptionist told me that he had left because he did not want to bring the toddler back with him and that he can reschedule. When I inquired about whether or not he could pop back up now, since it was only 915, I was told no that his appointment was slated to end at 9:30 (even though he had just left the waiting area less than 15 minutes previously). The receptionist offered an appointment for Tuesday, and I said I could not accept it without conferring with him. When I got to the car and he said it would be OK, I called up to the desk and set the appointment. No issues. What we didn't expect was to have the new appointment canceled minutes after via text with the explanation that "Dr. Eric was unhappy that we lost an hour appointment on our schedule this morning" and that they needed to accommodate other patients on their waiting list instead. I did call and speak with the office manager, who basically informed me that I did not schedule back to back appointments instead, I scheduled staggered appointments which is different. She told me that Dr. Eric heard my husband say he was going to reschedule and heard the whole conversation and it was his call to make. As I explained to the office manager, when I spoke to the doctor at the end of my appointment, he made no mention he wasn't going to see my husband. I know it's a moot point because we won't be continuing with them anyway due to moving, but still--their response felt unnecessarily punitive. While we understand the importance of keeping a full schedule, patient comfort and flexibility should also be prioritized. Had we been informed upfront that rescheduling could result in cancellation, we would have made a more informed decision. Instead, we were left feeling dismissed rather than valued as patients. Professionalism and understanding go a long way in healthcare. Sadly, this experience left us questioning whether patient care is truly the priority here.

From the moment I made the appointment and spoke with Shannon on the phone, until the point, we walked out of the office today, everybody was amazing. The office is not huge, but they are clearly very popular and very busy! Despite that, everybody on the staff was friendly and accommodating, and we never felt rushed. When I made the appointment with Shannon, she was amazing. I am disabled and my mother's elderly, so she gave me a lot of information and assured me that she would make sure we were taken care of. She was not lying! She took great care of us. Dr. garden was very knowledgeable. He gave us a lot of insight and told us what we needed to do before he would be willing to schedule the extraction. He wanted to make sure that my mother was as prepared as possible and even told us that one of the medications she is taking Would be problematic so he told us to stop taking it for a period of time before he would be willing to schedule the procedure. The time that he spent explaining the process to us and the fact that he cared enough to say he wasn't comfortable doing the procedure until my mother took these steps in preparation, impressed me. My mother was very anxious about this whole process and he made her feel very comfortable. If you need oral surgery, I highly recommend this practice! Everybody on the staff is kind, professional, and very knowledgeable.

He explained that there were certain things she had to do before we could move forward and schedule the extractions. The front desk staff, Shannon specifically, was also phenomenal. From the moment I called to place the appointment and asked her many questions, to when we arrived, and she helped get us checked in and settled, she was great. Very friendly and personable, but also very knowledgeable and professional. This dentist is obviously very popular based on the amount of people that were there. However, even though he was running behind, the staff kept us informed and were still very efficient. But despite that, he did not rush us, and he answered all of our questions. If you need to have any teeth extracted, and you find him on your own or get a referral, I would not hesitate to reach out because it was a very positive experience, and we definitely feel more comfortable about returning when my mother is ready to have her teeth extracted.

On the day of my appointment, I was scheduled for 12:00, but I was kept waiting without any explanation or update until 12:45. There was no apology or acknowledgment of the delay. The examination itself felt very rushed. The doctor briefly looked at my upper right tooth using a tongue depressor and spent about 5 minutes discussing possible extractions. Normally, a dental mirror is used for proper examination of teeth, so the lack of a proper instrument was concerning. I also requested an evaluation of tooth #13 (upper left), and I was told it would be included in the report. The entire visit lasted about 10 minutes. They told me that the treatment plan would be sent later that same day. They told me that the treatment plan would be sent later that same day. Afterwards, I had to follow up multiple times over 5 days to receive the treatment plan. When it was finally sent, even the tooth numbers were incorrect. In particular, for tooth #13, the doctor had clearly stated in person that the condition was very poor, not salvageable, and required extraction. However, in the report this was reduced to a mild statement such as: "the patient reports intermittent symptoms of discomfort associated with tooth #13." Overall, the experience was rushed, poorly documented, and disappointing due to a lack of attention to detail and communication.
