He even spent some time teaching me beard basics so I knew how to upkeep it properly. The shop was very clean and orderly and the staff were calm and the atmosphere was relaxing. This wasn't the end of the interaction, when I got done I bought some of his beard salve which was very nice smelling and works very well... however when I got to my car to leave... MY CAR WOULDN'T START! Brad came out and helped me troubleshoot my car and I was eventually able to leave after I fixed a simple trouble code that was locking the car up. So honestly this is a GOOD group of people looking out for their fellow humans in this world of constant misdirection. So 10 out of 10 I recommend just as is, but the extra stuff made them way more awesome then I expected.

I've moved away and would like to stop in to have my hair done now while visiting town. Tabetha is also there doing hair and these girls get busy so make sure to book ahead your appt especially on the weekends. Very flexible on the scheduling and hours. My hair always is looking great, I get a cut and highlight and I'm always loving the color she does. I have long thick hair so it can be challenging but she has never once messed up in 15 years. The salon itself has plenty of parking, plenty of comfy couches to sit on, a nice bathroom and a comfy head washing station. Even though I live in California now I still plan on coming in if I come into town. Great local feel and always friendly!!

If your familiar with Navy Bar's this is a Navy Barbershop, other than that you have the feel of a small town barber. They've recently did a overnight building swap with Jr's also owned hot dog restaurant Weiner King. I personally haven't tried that spot yet but I heard they have great food for a easy on the wallet price. This place isn't a great clips so you sometimes may have to wait for haircut because, they are trying to provide the whole traditional barber experience. So if they are busy just come at a different time at give them a shot. Suggestions- Just say you want a Joe Navy Haircut or a High and tight Jr will know what to do. Well, I walked into Bok's, no greeting. Ok, I am going to get what I need and keep it pushing. I find my products in a minute's time and proceed to the counter. The cashier is standing with her back to me and still never acknowledges me. She is looking at the water bill, then mumbles, "hold on." It seems like she was on the phone from the way she was holding her head, so I don't know if it was directed to me. What I do know is that you had a customer in your store that you ignored twice. After about 20 or so seconds (yes, seconds, that's a bit of time to just stand there without any contact), standing at the counter to be acknowledged and serviced, I placed the products on the counter and left. In THIS economy, when I chose to spend my hard earned money with your establishment, poor customer service will never be tolerated by me. I want to feel like I am welcomed and appreciated for choosing your store to patronize and spend my money. I have always felt guilty going to these Asian owned hair stores knowing their history of treating their black clients like trash, but build and feed their families off of our communities without giving back to the very community that supports them. This was the catalyst I needed to stop patronizing these business. You will never see a dime of my money again, and I hope others wake up. Y'all need additional customer relations training, you know, the Chick fil A model.
