Please do NOT come to this salon. The owner Lidia is so nasty. I can't believe she's been in business for as long as she claims. I came in and showed her the reference picture for the balayage I wanted and instead she gave me bright single toned red highlights. I told her I wanted a balayage because I wanted it to be blended and didn't want any color starting from the roots and she did the complete opposite. Not only does she not listen to that clients request, but she was visibly upset because I asked to detangle my own hair after she tried to aggressively dry brush my curls out from the roots. Once the color was done and I told her I wasn't happy with how streaky and unblended it looked. I also told her I didn't like the color because it's much brighter than the reference picture I showed her. She said she would gladly fix it but didn't want to "over process" my hair so she asked me to come back in when I have time. This was on a Saturday and they are closed Mondays and Tuesdays. I called back on Wednesday to schedule an appointment, to which she responded with threats of charging me again if I didn't come in before Saturday because she has a policy of 1 week only. When I told her She never shared this policy with me before, she said " I'm not talking to this annoying girl" and hung up on me. I called back and she hung up on me again. She then texted me blaming me for the results. This was such a horrible experience and a waste of money. Please do not come to her. The only "okay" part of the experience was the lovely Spanish lady Natalia who jumped in to re-blow dry my hair after the owner Lidia almost burn my hair trying to blow dry it. Please do not go here if you have any hair type besides straight. The red headed owner is lucky I didn't sue her for emotional distress. Not only did she have my hair falling out of my head just from getting my roots touched up but they are incredibly discriminative to anyone who isn't Italian or Albanian. As if paying customers are dirt on her shoe, it was absolutely ridiculous. Not only do they overcharge for simple services like a short haircuts but if you want to come back the next day to refresh some curls, $40??? Do not go to this salon! The owner damaged my 16 year old daughter's hair for a quick buck. She had my daughter there for over 6 hours dying bleaching and toning knowing she was damaging her hair and could t get the color my daughter wanted. My daughter went in for dark brown hair and brown highlights instead she left crying with the top of her head red, the middle was brown and black and the highlights were blonde. Although I would have given this salon 5 stars for my entire hairstyle, I didn't like how the owner (a redhead lady) handled things in the end. I called three days in advance to make a Sunday appointment, explained that my hair is natural, and asked whether they could do it. I was informed that the cost of the dye would be $55 for the length of my hair (bra strap length). When I arrive, she tells me that I need to bleach my hair in order to achieve the dark auburn appearance I was looking for because my hair is too dark. My hair looked fantastic, would never discredit anyone but the issue I ran with was when the owner decided to charge me $420 after the fact of doing my hair. I assured her that she didn't say that price over the phone. She claims that I mentioned wanting my roots colored, but I never did... Then she states that she had to bleach my hair; alright, so you knew I was informed a different price and you didn't think to tell me the drastic price change. Either way the cost still wouldn't have been $420... She suggested that we set up payment plans when I told her that I didn't have the money to provide her. She continued, "But you will have to contribute $300 immediately," to which I replied, "I don't have $300." I explained how much I had to give her and she said she will have to call the cops. Long story short, she received $150 from me. And I left! Don't know why I didn't bother to read their reviews but from the looks of it, this is something she does on the regular. Very bad experience. I honestly wouldn't give this place 1 star because it's not deserving of it. This lady is very unprofessional and rude. From the moment I walked in, I felt uncomfortable. I absolutely love this place. I went in with orange yellow damage hair and my hair has never felt as good as it does right now. The atmosphere is nice, all the workers are friendly. The lady who was doing my hair was really sweet and I usually get anxious around people and I didnt. It felt so nice to be in a place that you don't feel like they are judging you. I had the olaplex which was a first for me and even as I brushing my hair , no strands are coming out. I love the fact that they ask you instead if just cutting without your permission.i am definitely going to come back here and bring my mom for a wash and set and my sister for a split end treatment. I can only say positive things about Stage Hair Salon! I went for bayalage highlights and was nervous as it was the first time I ever dyed my hair. Despite being understaffed and busy, Lidja took her time with me and was extremely patient as I changed my toner color not once, not twice, but 4 times! She tested the color on a small under piece each time and was never frustrated when I kept changing my mind. It turned out exactly like I wanted and I'm so in love! I also was impressed with the COVID procedures they put in place. I was in the salon for about 4 hours and I never felt uncomfortable or exposed. This was one of the most upsetting experiences I've had in a very long time. The unfortunate experience was due to the owner of the salon. She is friendly at first but don't let that fool you, she is cocky and arrogant. She CANNOT & WILL NOT accept when she is WRONG. She damaged my hair and continuously blamed me for it. She proceeded to inform me about MY hair and how I had not cut it in over 5 months (I get my hair trimmed every two months.) She told me I used V05 shampoo (I use Brazilian joia & home made hair masks.) She told me I use box dye (which I initially told her about prior to the appointment to make sure it wouldn't be an issue.) This lady gave me all this information & FYI, SHE HAD NEVER MET ME until the day of my appointment. She is stubborn and defensive. She told me not to offend her because she has been doing hair for 20 years. She offended herself with the terrible job she left on my head. My hair looks nothing like the pictures we spoke of. She left bleach in my hair for over 3 hours, leaving my hair broken and stringy then tried to over charge me by 30 dollars. To top it all off she made me go to the ATM because "she doesn't accept cards" which I believe is bullsh*t. She was probably afraid of a bank dispute. (MONEY IS NOT THE ISSUE!!) When you do a half a** job you need to take responsibility for it and do your best to compromise and leave your client content, not stand there and ARGUE with them. To be clear the ONLY reason I paid is because I know the law not because she deserved it; I can always take legal action after. She is definitely not worth what she is charging. All of the other ladies were very friendly I have no complaints there, but I WILL NEVER go back to this place. I should've went with my gut and the Yelp reviews and never stepped foot here. Lidja is very sweet to talk to but unfortunately does not pay enough attention to her clients when they overbook and continue to accept walk ins. I went in for a honey blonde balayage. I was left with the bleach on my hair for a total of 3 hours, one more than my friends resulting in my hair being burnt by the bleach. When they first asked me if I like the color my hair was GREY. After insisting on the color I asked for I ended up with a dull ash color. Again I asked for honey blonde. My "balayage" just looks like regular highlights and there is more color on one side than the other. I was also never given a smock and they kept taking my towel away so my clothes were soaked and ruined by the bleach. Also during a time of global pandemic I DID NOT SEE THEM SANITIZE A SINGLE THING, let alone wipe down chairs between clients on a hot summer day. When I asked for a refund because of the bad bleach, tone, and color job as well as the hair damage I will probably now have to cut off Lidja insisted my hair was "just dry not damaged" and made no apology or mention at all about me getting literally nothing near what I asked for. Horrible!!! Women with short red hair, don't know her name, ruined my hair! She combed through it so hard literally ripping my hair! Told me my hair was too "dry" and demanded that I do a treatment which she told me it was 20 extra dollars for after the fact! She used shear scissors on my hair which is horrible for thick frizzy hair, and did a horrible job with my layers! I'm so upset I paid so much money, and I can't get my hair back or my money back! But when it comes my time to pay, all of a sudden the owner does not take Zelle anymore and only takes credit card. She ended up charging me $15 extra to use my card and didn't tell me about the extra fee until later. I am a young girl who she thought she could jip.
