My friends and I visited RattleTale before and after our backpack trip in the Wallowa's. The coffee was rich and robust. The homemade scone was incredibly delicious, and the breakfast burrito was just what the doctor ordered after several days in the wilderness. And to top it off, the decor is welcoming and comfortable with plenty of seating. My only regret is that it is 6 hours from Seattle. I get a voicemail threatening to call the cops on me??????? like really? I was kind and patient on the phone, willing to wait for a response and did not DEMAND a refund. My boyfriend had a bite of the Butter Rum with Sea Salt, and said it was yummy, but I'm not a Sea Salt kinda person so I took his word for it. The friendly ladies behind the counter were helpful and pointed out some of the local items. I appreciated them taking the extra step of carefully wrapping my glass jar of jam before placing it in the bag. Oregon led us to Baker City's Cheese Fairy where we met a splendid young woman whose knowledge, extensive array of cheeses, and friendly demeanor that guided us to the selection of several delicious cheeses. After returning home [400miles from Baker City], we continue enjoying Cheese Fairy cheeses. We order cheeses, which the "Fairy" ships carefully & quickly, for Christmas, anniversaries, birthdays, and to celebrate special events/accomplishments.
