I made the quick twenty mile trip and did a good look around before I made my purchase. Most meat items here were extremely expensive, even more so than in my hometown! Nevertheless, I got a butcher to package two one and a half pound packs of this very nice looking stew beef for me. Likely the nicest and most lean I've ever seen! I entered today and saw a nice variety. This place keeps a five day a week schedule and opens 8:30 am. This store is owned by the Brown family that also operates the slaughterhouse next door. The meat looked fresh and it should be under the circumstances. I did gig them one star because I've been told that the beef here is from cattle with an undocumented diet history. It seems that professional packing houses require a documented feeding history. I'm not sure if this is important; but I'd like to know before I make a purchase.
