The ranch and blue cheese dressing tasted like a lesser quality bottled type. My mother's chicken sandwich was quite large, but the bread was so soggy, it would not contain it's properties. She asked the waitress for mayo for her sandwich, the waitress brought her two packets, really? Her fries were overly salted and oily, I tried a couple of her fries, not good. My sister's burger was bland, but she said the onion rings were good. The menu is limited, so my expectations were high. All this being said, I may or may not return. read more

Bad food, bad staff and the environment needs a lot of work. This is a new restaurant that should have things better figured out by now. We were met by a teenage hostess who didn't really have a grasp on how seating works in a sit-down restaurant. We waited 30 minutes to be sat which was not really a problem but there is not really anywhere to wait. The space is far too small for the amount of tables they have pushed inside and we had a high chair pushed up next to us from the table beside us. We couldn't hear anyone at our table unless we all but yelled at each other. Our waitress never returned to our table after delivery of food to ask how the food was or to fill our drinks. We had to ask a different waitress for napkins. We finally left and went to a different restaurant to eat. Doubtful that we will ever return. read more

We headed up to Valdese to try brunch at Highlands Butchery after seeing it mentioned on Facebook a few times. We arrived a little after 10 a.m. and were seated as soon as we entered. It's a smallish place and was somewhat cozy. We had checked out the menu before we got there and were able to order as soon as our server came to our table. The food came out reasonably fast, and everything was correct. My breakfast burger was delicious, and my wife's a la carte eggs, waffles, and bacon were just as good. My only complaint was that the light on our table was very bright, but that was a very minor issue. After we paid our bill, we took a look at the meat they had for sale in the butcher shop and ended up buying some great-looking steaks and some bones for our dogs. We will definitely be back and will recommend the place to our friends. read more
