The landscaping business in Annapolis is divided between an old guard and a new. The new guard are…read moreLatino entrepreneurs who undercut the entrenched white establishment with lower prices. It's not exactly a race division because the work crews of both are predominantly Latino, and in my experience it's the Latino boots on the ground that actually figure out what needs doing on site and do it. Even seeing that, I still paid Brady for years through the nose to have the clean-cut American supervisor come out to buddy me up in clear and courteous English, and to answer my texts and emails with class comraderie and humor, and to give me the feeling that, at that price, these professionals will surely stand behind their work. Sure, the initial sticker price was always a shock, and somehow some complication was always discovered on site to add more to that, but you get what you pay for, right? I figured I was paying for good ole American reliability. Well, I just got woke up. Five years ago I gave over to Brady my whole summer teaching salary of some $4000 for a complete solution to all the rain drain problems in my backyard. However, one part of the Brady design has never worked, so that my easement floods, and now Brady wants to charge me another $2700 to get it right, having charged me $2600 for this part in the first place: "I would rather phase one address things and you never have to move to phase two rather than me asking you to pay for three phases at once when one phase would have sufficed. However, there are times when additional work needs to be done." What? My $3K was only buying me phase 1 of a complete solution? (And besides this phase 2, there may have to be a phase 3?) It's like a variation on planned obselescence where its obselete from the start. And still, I keep saying that his design didn't work from the start and he keeps saying it did. If it's working as originally intended, then why does it need a $2700 upgrade now? "The materials that are in the easement move and wash." That's why? Because rain pooling from the poor drainage design moves dirt around I need to give you yet another $3K to get the rain to run down the easement to the street as intended rather than flood my easement? We're talking about a townhouse garden and easement, not a mansion. "You're welcome to see if there is someone else out there with a cheaper option." That sounds to me like flipping me the birdie in clear and courteous English. So, if Brady is satisfied with its work and you're not, maybe that's what you'll get too. (And maybe check with the Latino entrepreneur from the start.)

Please don't use this company for ANY landscaping needs. This is my first Google review and it took…read moreme months to write it because I wanted to give a fair and honest review after I calmed down. Months later and I've yet to calm down. This company is run so irresponsibly. They operate on a shoe string budget and charge astronomical prices! Overcommitting while always underdelivering should be their slogan. Their plans are great and they promise the world, but when the actual day arrives they plant tiny scraps of plants/shrubs by dividing one plant 4-5 ways and still will charge you for 4-5 new plants. With zero exaggeration within in a few weeks nearly half of what was planted died! We went to Homestead Gardens where they claim to purchase all of their plants and claimed they could only buy "what was left at the end of summer" only to find robust and voluminous plants and flowers galore! Homestead Gardens denied selling anyone the skimpy plants and flowers we showed them in photos and in person. Even Brady day laborers complained to us that they operate on a day to day basis and are often at risk for shutting down. Nothing was completed on time and we literally had to stop them from driving away with thousands of dollars of landscaping stones and rocks WE paid for that they had "left over" from their crappy job. I could go on for paragraphs detailing the unethical and unprofessional experiences I've had with these guys but in an effort to avoid spending another minute on these fools I'll leave most of the specifics out. I'll leave out many disappointing and infuriating examples to be simple and concise. I'm tempted to leave my personal email and cell number to prevent anyone from even considering hiring these fools! We had to hire another company to literally redo the cheap work this unprofessional and perpetually insolvent company made on our property. If you want to waste your hard earned money and listen to numerous lies and verbal promises only to end up hiring another landscaper and an attorney to undo the work of this extremely unprofessional company who teeters on the brink of closure each month, then these fools are the company for you. But if you second guess wasting THOUSANDS then DO NOT consider Brady Landscaping!!

I called several other companies that never returned my call. Donta was responsive and extremely professional answering all of my questions. Naj did a wonderful job at creating a design based on my list of "must haves" and my husband and I were impressed with the results. They were meticulous with the details and followed up for our feedback. This is our second project with them. The first job was clearing out our backyard and completing a full paver installation. I would definitely work with them again.

The plumbing company left a mess, damaging our tree, crushing bushes, and leaving big pile of dirt in the yard. We called Ridley's. They came out promptly for an estimate, and once we said yes, they came out promptly and did an amazing job. They did so well that our neighbor was watching them work and hired them on the spot to do some grading in his yard. For the grass, they offered us the option of doing sod or seed. We went with the seed, so the (after) picture just shows the straw, but we anticipate having a beautiful lawn next summer. They were highly professional, worked hard, and simply got the job done as it should be done. We talked to another company that seemed cheaper, but they didn't give me the confidence that Donta gave me, and now that the job is done, I can say that confidence was well placed.
