I called to make a claim at the request of the land owner because the cabin on the property burned down and the person that answered the phone didn't ask for my policy number or if anyone was hurt or if everyone was ok. I said that I needed to file for a claim and Sarah stated " if it's not hunting related, we are not paying the claim. The day that the cabin burnt down, the first person that answered the phone SAID THE SAME THING. Wow, reports haven't been compiled or an adjuster sent and this was how I was greeted. When I left him it was because my business had moved to something that was better fit for a different company. American Family is a great company just didn't really fit with my business. That said Jim was trying to insure you didn't have a huge issue if just once your son drove your car and ran it into someone. What you are online in a public forum doing is slander. He also told me it was a LAW that I had to insure anyone that lived in my house and had a drivers license, even if we told him he was not driving any vehicles. My son just got his license and did not even have a car yet, and Jim told me I had to cover him. I called the insurance commissioner and found out he was wrong. I told him and he was real defensive, telling me he had 41 yrs of experience. He talked to his underwriters and found out I was right. Which ticked him off even more. So I was paying for something I did not have too. You figure after 41 yrs, he would know that. OR was he just ripping me off.
