What a fantastic experience I had with my dearest adopted kitty. All the team they are really well organized and very kind. You must follow all procedures because that is why they can run the vet. I was referred by a friend. I was very surprised about the difference with the prices. I need to spay neuter my new kitty and all vaccines. All that and also add him a chip for $120! I can't be more happy. I left him at 7am one day and picked him up the next day at the same time. That gave me enough time to get to my job. Thank you for all and everything you do! Of course this is the only vet I'll ever take my pets and I will recommended as well. **QUARANTINE TIME** They are only scheduling "SICK AND URGENT VISITS** Please visit their website or call before. Again: CONGRATULATIONS AND THANK YOU FOR TAKING CARE OF OUR KITTIES AND PUPPIES!!! Note: they have 3 locations. Charlotte, Pineville and lake Norman. If you can please support them. They are supported by Petsmart Charities.

I absolutely love the way they care for your animals. Every one of my pets have been here. It's clean and the staff is super friendly. The Vets come out and explain everything in detail and they have you check in without your animal to avoid unnecessary noise and contact with the other animals until it's time for your pet to be seen. While some Pet Parents don't read this rule before they come in, it's still a great one

On my first, and so far only, visit everything went flawlessly. The front desk staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. You can tell the woman had a true love for dogs as she engaged with Ladybug (My Shepherd) in a loving manner. I was easily checked in and asked to wait. I can't imagine I waited more than 10 minutes before the nurse came and took us to a room. The nurse was also very friendly and helpful. Ladybug decided it was time to take a poop in the middle of the checkup room, so she did. The nurse was very understanding and cleaned up the mess herself, even though I offered to do it myself. That alone was enough for the 5 stars as this is going above and beyond customer service. The doctor was very informative, thorough and sympathize with the treatment cost. She offered very well received alternatives and options, which I truly appreciated. The facilities are spotless and welcoming. I do not have a single complaint or even minor nuisance about this. I think Ladybug just found her new permanent vet office.

Consistently great care for my dogs. It's a clinic, very busy and fast paced with a crowded waiting room, which says people really like it.

I called 6 times this afternoon and no answer. I'm here now and they can't tell me any information on the owner. Be aware, multiple doctors and staff have recently left. No notification was sent to my knowledge. They seemed to have things under control but I wish I would have known about the staff changes.

Around 15 years ago, my previous vet retired and referred me to Sharon Lakes. Even though it is…read moremuch farther from my home and in a more sketchy neighborhood, I trusted the judgment of my former vet and have been a client of Sharon Lakes since then. My dog actually loved going there because the staff knew her well and always treated her well. Over those years, I have spent probably close to $20,000 between kennel and veterinary services. (In some years, I have used the kennel for 50+ days.) I had a trip in late June, so as I have done many, many times before, I booked the kennel about 6 weeks in advance, so I thought all was well. A week before my trip, I received a text saying that the kennel would be closed for "reinnervation" (yes, that's how it was spelled!). I was baffled how they could make a decision to renovate at the beginning of the summer travel season and why in the world they would wait weeks after I had booked the appointment to notify me my appointment was being cancelled. That didn't sound at all like the behavior of the staff I had been dealing with for years. This seems an egregiously unprofessional way to treat one of their most loyal (and most profitable) clients. So at the last minute I had to find an alternate kennel in the middle of the busy summer travel season for a 15-year-old dog who has never kenneled anywhere besides Sharon Lakes--not the kind of stress a senior dog needs. The alternate kennel requested an additional vaccination that is usually optional for senior dogs so my dog lacked, so I hurried to Sharon Lakes to get that vaccination. During the much longer wait than normal in the waiting room, a twangy low-brow country music with profanity was blasting over the speakers (thankfully, this had never been the case before), and the front staff was full of people I had never seen before. Clearly something was very different. Only later did I find out that the entire staff had left after the hospital was recently purchased by a big faceless corporation. There was nobody employed there from the Sharon Lakes that I've known for years. In fact, there were no full-time vets there at all. That explains why I recently had to ask repeatedly for someone to approve a refill of the heartworm pills that I order annually. Then, to add insult to injury, after I had jumped through the hoops to find a different kennel at the last minute, 2 days before I was to leave town, I received both a text and an email asking me to confirm that I would be there for the boarding appointment--the same appointment that had been cancelled. So I had to text back to clarify why I was being to asked to confirm an appointment that was supposedly cancelled. They replied that it had indeed been cancelled but didn't explain why I was still receiving requests to confirm. This place has clearly been left in disarray, a sad shell of what it used to be, with a completely different front staff and evidently no full-time vets. This is no longer the facility we have known and loved for many years, so I'll be moving to a new vet and kennel. Postscript: I just picked my dog up from the new kennel that is much closer to my home. I was surprised to see that it was $10 per night cheaper than what I had been paying. New owner: Please spare me the vague and shallow "call us to discuss your concerns" copy-and-paste response. I've just plainly and publicly stated my concerns; there's nothing left to discuss in a non-public forum. The only reason I had traveled so far to that neighborhood was for the staff, but they are all gone. Nothing more to discuss.

Very disappointed!! Our sweet Corso had a surgery July 2025 for a left ACL tear. We met Dr. Watson…read moreand we were under the impression that he's going to do a TPOL surgery. He had a great recovery and was told we don't have to do his right leg since he recovered really well ( and so we thought). Since July our dog has only gone out on leash to use the bathroom because we know that it will take mos for him to fully recover tho we hate that for him since he's only 3 we are being careful because we don't want him to have another surgery and also cost is very pricey. Come January our dog started limping AGAIN on the same leg he just had a surgery on!!! We brought him to our vet and was told that the previous surgery FAILED that the kind of surgery that was performed to our sweet Scout is not recommended for dog his size. Few ortho visits later and now we are told that we have to redo the surgery AGAIN or our Scout will be in pain and will be limping- he's ONLY 3!!! We wanted him to have a great life and enjoy his years, he shouldn't spend mos at a time stuck inside the house. Dr. Watson doesn't have the best interest of your pets because if he did he wouldn't perform that lateral surgery knowing it will FAIL. We are very disappointed

After a year of going here I'll never be back. Several reasons and I'll try to keep it somewhat…read moreshort. First off, I took one of my dogs here for a dental cleaning. He had never been under anesthesia before, therefore I was naturally nervous, especially for an elective procedure. He was dropped off first thing in the morning, told we would get a call back to update us by 4pm. We waited until after 430 to call to ask if he was alive! only to be told he was done last in the day, so he had been sitting in a cage all day. We were told he was in recovery and should be good to pick up in time for closing at 6. Went to pick him up, arrived at 530. We were then told they couldn't wake him up. Then maybe you shouldn't be putting an animal under anesthesia that's never been under before, at the last minute. I had to carry my 85 lb dog, out of the vet on a stretcher, into the car, then carry him into my house, still completely unconscious. That was one of the most unprofessional things I've ever seen in a vet. It's like a hospital discharging before they know they patient is OK, wait that's exactly what this unprofessional practice did. Then we take both our dogs in for a check up, nail trim and allergy treatment. First off, one of our dogs is a little aggressive with his nails, and we told them we recommend a muzzle. He was promptly brought back saying, " oh we could only get his back nails because he growled, but we won't charge you". Damn right you won't, you can't even complete a simple nail trim. They also, because they couldn't do a simple nail trim prescribed trazadone, and gabapentin, which is a reckless abuse of prescription drugs, with no reason. They wanted us to give him the drugs and bring him back so he'd be a well behaved zombie to make their jobs easier. At this same appointment, they wasted so much time asking the same questions we have answered every single time, that our second dog was not able to be seen, because asking what food and vitamins they are on for the 50th time and leaving us in the exam room for no reason. Vet finally came back seen, saw both of our male dogs were not altered and asked, " so they're not neutered because we're breeding.......?" My dog was not there for a neuter, nor did I ask to talk to you about that. More wasted time. If I had wanted your opinion, I would have asked. We are not idiots, and you can tell just in the effort and care we put into our dogs, what kind of owners we are. What was I supposed to say, " neutered?!? What's that? It's it deadly??" How about you just do the job we had scheduled to do. I felt talked down to, and treated like an idiot. I will never return, and beg others who care to avoid this place. I still have my front door cam of me carrying my very large dog in the door, unconscious, hoping he would recover fine, just because this place DID NOT CARE.

I was able to secure a time slot online for Yaz and I made it there at the exact time. I signed in via the kiosk and within 3 minutes, a Vet Tech came and got us. She was sweet, kind, patient and loving. She took a detailed history and took her time examining him so that nothing was forced. She outlined ballpark pricing (which was slightly less than I expected) and told me the doctor would be in soon. Within about 10 minutes, the doctor came in with the same kind, loving, patient demeanor. He had to do a bit more invasive exam and Yaz wasn't having it so unfortunately, he had to be muzzled. He wasn't aggressive but the pain was making him lash out. The doc managed a couple of ear cultures which showed an ear infection (but not really bad thankfully .... Doc said he has seen WAY worse. Yaz is just normally so healthy that when he's sick, he really feels it.) So after checking the cultures, he gave us prescription antibiotic drops (which are rather tricky to get in his ear since he's so sensitive there .... I'm definitely having to tap wayyyyyy into my patience). I can't say enough good things about this UrgentVet location. Aside from Monroe Spay & Neuter Clinic, this is the first animal hospital I felt comfortable with and who I felt actually cared and didn't rush us out the door. I will definitely be Using UrgentVet - Ballantyne for any urgent needs in the future.
