Pushed for replacement - told me they couldnt repair - when - i called a different company - there was NO PROBLEM as they suggested. I paid to be part of their "happy home club" - and there was zero advantage. If you like to be gouged for poor service - pay for a club that gets you zero benefit... and be overcharged for every single service - call this company. I had my 2nd subpar experience with Standard a couple weeks ago. The first poor experience was the response from the company when my furnace went out. Think the wait time was 3+ days. 2nd experience was having my thermostat, which is still under warranty, not function. Was told it's a 3 day wait for a tech to come out and diagnosis it. I told them button #4 didn't work and asked if I could just come to their office to swap it out. I wasn't going to wait 3 days for a tech, pay 99 bucks for the trip plus labor just to swap out an item thats still covered. Was told I can't do that. Good bye Standard. Set an appointment, had no AC. They told me they would be here in a week and a half between 8 am-6 pm. Called another place, they came the next day, charged $60.00 less for the visit, we already knew our system was old, turned out to be 22 years old. That same day they measured for our new AC and Furnace as well as delivering a portable AC (that works amazing) for no cost until they can install our new units. It should be noted that I had to go through an automated system to set said appointment and we already had a longstanding contract with Standard. Try BonFe. We needed a new air conditioner and made a call to get an idea of pricing. They came recommended by others we trusted. We received an estimate and decided to go with them as they could do the installation the fastest and at the cheapest price compared to two other offers. It was less than 1 week and we were able to get a new air conditioner installed. The tech Rob was wonderful! He was friendly, knowledgeable and determined. We had a really old air conditioner, but he was able to figure out how to switch it out for the new one without causing holes into our basement ceiling. I had Standard & Heating come out to do routine maintenance/inspection on my furnace (newly installed by them in 2018). The technician was prompt (actually early), courteous, and professional. Now that my furnace is getting towards the middle of it's lifespan, we opted to enroll in their Gold service plan, which gets us 2 preventative maintenance visits a year (so we can do the furnace now and the AC in the spring), which equaled roughly $17/month, rather than the ~$160 service call. It also earns a 10% discount on parts, and priority service in an emergency (i.e. furnace or AC won't start). In 2021, they installed our AC as well. I've found Standard and Heating a good value, and the technicians have always been top notch. I'm a repeat customer, and highly recommend their services. read more

We had Standard H&AC perform periodic maintenance on our AC unit. Their technician (Matthew) was knowledgeable, professional and courteous. His diagnostic detected a faulty part which he had on his truck. He replaced this part quicky. The price for his work was fair and reasonable. I especially appreciated Matthew's communication. I don't like to review but will for this... - emergency situation, furnace went out overnight with a 1-week old infant and toddler at home - called at 6am, was told someone would call me at 7am when they opened (should've realized at this point) - 715am I called them, they had no clue about my issue. - was told they'd book an appointment for me, and could get someone out between 11-3 - they expressed no concern or urgency for the situation - when I asked to be moved up sooner because of the infant + child I was told "can you use an alternative heat source?"... and told they only answer emergencies between 6p-midnight!!! - I am one of their priority members too... - Residential Heating answered my call and was at my house in 1.5 hours - will not give my business to them again read more

There were some issues with availability of the particular model we ordered and their customer service was excellent, offering us an upgraded model at no additional price. There were some minor adjustments needed after install and they sent a technician right away to address the issue. It is also a plus for us that the company treats its employees well, a very important issue for us when deciding what company to go with. I was duped. Asked for service call for my AprilAire unit, suggesting it was seemingly not operating correctly. The rep offered an additional furnace and water heater inspection for an extra $50. The service worker called in advance of the appointment, telling me he was on his way. In the end, he inspected the furnace, did a "once over" of the AprilAire (determined there's an issue with the water intake tubing) and insisted a Tech needed to come out for an additional $99. This is unacceptable and clearly a misrepresentation of the service originally offered. I will never use them again nor recommend them to anyone! In addition, there was no visible indication they came..no sticker placed on either the furnace nor the AprilAire unit. read more

Having problems with my "State if the art" (their words) AC system that is not even 3 years old so I called to get help/troubleshoot or schedule service. A woman who clearly has no business working in customer service answers the phone, is very rude, and tells me "Nobody is getting less than 74 degrees right now. Why would you even expect to?" Umm, maybe because I just spent 14k on this and was told by your saleswoman it would keep me "Frosty" all summer long. Is this really the companies position? Buy our overpriced systems but don't expect them to work right on a moderately hot day?? (95 degrees) And dont bother calling to ask about why Im getting a communication error on my smart thermostat because your going to talk to me like Im an idiot for assuming my essentially new system is not working properly. I've been using Standard Heating for many years now, including after moving to a new home recently. Exceptional service and really friendly technicians that explain everything they are doing. I am a member of their Smart Club and get priority scheduling for fall furnace and spring AC tuneups. Their technician Peter was out today (and again was fantastic!) and we were talking about my furnace filter and I had mentioned that it's quite more often than I expected and he inquired if the home had the ducks cleaned recently. Since it was a flip house, I said they probably did not do that and the previous resident did not take good care of the property so I doubt they did. Peter said duct cleaning is a service that Standard Heating offers and that with my Smart Club membership I get a $50 discount! Technician Jason from Standard Heating came out to fix our mini split a/c unit a few weeks ago. It had recently developed a leak and, truthfully, had not been cooling well for a long time. We've had other companies out to look at it, including one that advertises as specialists in mini splits (they wanted to charge mega bucks for work that wasn't needed). Jason found and fixed the problem in about one hour. He was professional, experienced and clearly capable. Several different people have come to the house over the last few years and we have been impressed every time. Recently, after having some remodeling done, we went to turn on the AC. Nope. Try again and fiddle with the thermostat. Nope. We called Standard Heating. They could have said, 'whine whine whine' you should call the electrician that worked on your project.
