This negative review is from my experience with Chad Muckenfuss. Nice guy but terrible at listening to instructions. He either deliberately ignored the photo and instructions I gave him or he genuinely doesn't know how to accomplish the haircut I asked for and instead of communicating that to me, attempted it anyway and gave me the worst haircut of my life. When I sat down I asked "Muck" for a mid-fade parted haircut (like the one in the example photo I've attached). I even specifically requested that he leave some length so that the hair on the side could be comed down without sticking straight out. As you can see in the photos, he quite literally did the opposite. The haircut itself is not even a good one - there is no fade and the area where the hair is supposed to part goes from about .5 an inch to about 6 inches long. This also has nothing to do with my hair and everything to do with the barber. You can see in my profile photo what my hair looks like when cut the way I ask for and the barber listens to my instructions. The worst part of this all is that this is right before Christmas with the family. I paid him but did not tip and I want him to know why. Very disappointing - I won't be returning. read more

This barber shop has let me down twice now. My first cut went well. The second time i made a 7 am apt where i waited outside for 20 mins waiting on someone to even show up. Today I went in for a 9 am apt and the barber once again was not there. If was nice that the offered me an apt later on but the whole point in scheduling was because barbers in Charlotte work a pretty basic 9-5 it appears. I also work pretty much the same hours. So again the business has skilled barbers but my experience is they are not very reliable. If Im gonna spend 45 dollars for a hair cut some communication would at least be nice read more

We were in town for a wedding and the boys in my family were well overdue for cuts. I found this place on Yelp, and it lived up to, and exceeded the reviews. The barbershop was easy to find, very clean, and the staff were extremely friendly and professional. We came in without appointments and were seen almost right away. The owner was great with my 2-year-old, who was scared and crying/screaming at first. The owner calmed him down and gave him some cookies. The hair cut went smoothly, and it turned out great! My husband and my other son also had their hair cut. Great experience and if we are ever in the Charlotte area again we will be back! read more

I really wanted to give this place a try based off its reviews and being close to our house. But oh my gosh I really wish I hadn't! So much went wrong, the man that did my sons hair had no idea what he was doing and pushed his hairline so far back. I had to ask the owner to come over and show him what he was doing wrong & you would think being that this was his business and seeing how bad he was doing that he would take over but he didn't. Walking in I really thought he would be the one doing my sons hair, but he sat him in the older gentleman's chair and at that point I knew it was going to be a tragedy, but I guess I was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt. The more he cut the worse it got. At one point he shaved a spot too low above his ear almost making it look bald because it didn't match the length as the rest. It was the day before Thanksgiving and here I was rushing around trying to find another barber shop that was able to FIX the mess the man made. Never again will be back. The pictures attached show what it looked like when we left vs what it should have looked like after the other barber attempted to fix it as best as he could without pushing his hairline farther back. read more

I can say with a high degree of confidence that this is the best barbershop I have had the pleasure of visiting in the Charlotte area. It was quite evident from the service I received, that the owner takes a lot of pride in his work. I was very satisfied with my haircut, which was done in the exact manner I had requested. There was none of the hasty, sloppy service that is generally a feature of the big chains. In my experience, some of the smaller, community barbershops are usually lacking in terms of being able to provide the latest in styles, but that wasn't an issue here. The owner seemed quite adept in delivering the newest cuts in vogue. I was also very impressed with owner's professional service, as well as the general ambiance of the studio itself, which was clean and smelled nice. This shop is the best that I personally found. After being in Charlotte for 8 years, I believe that I have finally found a place that I can continue to come to for years down the road. It reminds me of the hometown, good, and family friend shop that I grew up in. I called this place today at 10:30 am and asked for their price range. The guy who picked up didn't bother to tell me if they were busy, what time they closed, or if I needed an appointment. I arrived at this location around 11:10 am. I saw two barbers cutting hair and four sitting down waiting. It didn't look like all of them were getting a haircut. When I first walked in, they didn't say anything to me. Maybe a greeting would be nice. As I was walking over to a chair to sit down one of the barbers decided to tell me that they weren't able to cut my hair today. So what's the point of posting your hours if your not going to follow them? Maybe put a sign on your door stating you guys are closing early because of Veterans Day. Then I wouldn't have to waste my time walking in. read more
