The space is huge with multiple rooms showcasing incredible art--plus an upstairs installation, books, and jewelry for sale. Some rooms even had artists working on their pieces, which was really cool to see. The event had such a great vibe with live music, food trucks, and an energetic crowd. I also loved the venue itself--spacious, well-organized, and plenty of parking outside. As an art lover, this was such a fun experience. I'll definitely be back for future events :)

Other art was from local artists and others, and includes oils, large wood animal sculptures, and the owner's own bronze sculptures. Some fun eclectic art was for sale, too, like fish made from maybe tissue paper. Wish I'd taken a picture of them--so unique. If interested in a piece the owner may negotiate pricing. While I enjoyed the unique aesthetics of each art gallery before, this one was quite frankly bland, and had more of a "smug" aroma to it. But the worst part of my experience was not the repetitive or bland art, or the lack of culture here, but the horrible receptionist (or whoever he might have been) at the front desk. As I explored the art in the building, a group of young men had just walked in. They began to wipe their shoes, but all had smiles on their faces, and I noticed that they had also respectfully put away their phones upon entrance. The man at the desk must have not known I was there until I left in a hurry, but as the teens ventured into the establishment he not only insulted them, but used disrespectful profanity while addressing them. Of all places, I would assume that respect would be the most important aspect of an art gallery, but clearly the man running this facility had none. He cursed at these young men upon entrance like an ill-behaved child. If I had been the mother of any of these young men I would have slapped this man across the face and called for someone of higher standing in the art gallery. His childish actions made the art embarrassing and the gallery uncomfortable. If you would like to enjoy the fine art of park city, do not visit Rich Haines Gallery.

This place was wonderful. There are several rooms with different exhibits. In addition to the small yet impressive indigenous folk are, there was art representing the folk arts of dozens of countries across six continents, all of which was made in and around Salt Lake. When my husband and I visited, the first floor featured a variety of Native American crafts such as baskets and beadwork. On the second floor, items on display included decorative saddles, Tongan carving, and Latin American ceramics. Even at a leisurely pace, we saw the entire museum within a quick twenty-five minutes. If you're planning to visit Liberty Park or the Tracy Aviary, I'd absolutely recommend a stop at this free gem. However, unless you have a great interest in folk art, I don't know if I'd suggest going out of your way to visit simply because it is so small.

I planned the event from out of town in Pennsylvania and sent my grandmother and a bridesmaid on an initial scouting mission to other banqueting halls in the area and to this museum, and they both agreed that Hope Gallery was undeniably the place. Were they ever right! My fiance and I have a love for traveling and for lavishing time in worthy museums, and the Hope Gallery communicated the vintage travel-inspired reception that was held for us in Pennsylvania without any of the cost -- the decor is already there! The building is a repurposed bank from the early 1900's, with great stone columns out front, a fabulous stained glass ceiling on the second floor, and a vault that is still intact. The collection is varied but true to the old European Masters aesthetic, with both originals and reproductions displayed. The Danish family who owns the gallery are artists and collectors, and that was also one of my favorite aspects of renting the space -- working with a family business that made for such personable and professional staff to work with! The floor layout was ideal for an open house situation, with round tables situated in alcoves lined with artwork that allowed for significant guest flow. The kitchen and serving amenities were perfect for our needs. Guests enjoyed appetizers and desserts on the second floor and also browsed the collections on the first floor. The museum is also accessible to Temple Square, which was something we were hoping for in order to take family photos on the grounds of the Salt Lake Temple and then walk to our venue in order to maximize our photographer's time and our own. The short walk from Temple Square to the Hope Gallery made for some great photos and avoided the need to park and repark in the city. Hope Gallery does not have its own parking, but there is street parking and multiple parking garages nearby and none of our guests complained about finding a place to park or were deterred from getting themselves to the open house! Camilla, the manager, was a pleasure to work with, both in the planning phase and on the day of. She did the follow up, was incredibly responsive, provided tables and linen with the (hugely reasonable!) rental fee, assisted with welcoming and directing our 120 guests, and has the best personality. Upon our departure, Camilla presented my groom and I with our choice of a print of one of the gallery's artworks, which we now have framed and hung in our apartment as a reminder of the day -- and is also a great piece! This place is a treasure. I can't recommend the gallery as a wedding venue (or just for a tour) any more highly.

I mean, it's original art so don't go expecting to pick up a ton of cheap-o stuff, but even so, some of the smaller pieces and jewelry are really affordable.
