Probably the most beautiful pitch and putt course in the Vancouver area and definitely the most legendary. The course is not as long compared to the other pitch and putt courses around. Most holes will be around 75 yards or so. Longest hole is 100 yard 5th hole. In the summer, this course can be extremely busy because of its popularity. Come early in the morning to avoid the crowds. Coming to Vancouver to experience the city and golf, we knew we had to try out one of the various pitch and putt courses, and this one was a lot of fun. What's cool about this spot is that is a low risk way to try out some golf. The longest hole is 100 yards, with most being 75 or less. There were a ton of beginners and first timers playing so it's definitely not a place where pace of play is a priority. There's no tee time required, just walk up and get in line on the first tee. For Americans, the cost for 2 people to play was around $19 for $18 holes. Every tee box has a mat that you hit off of to start reach hole. The greens aren't great, so not the best place to practice putting. When we visited, there were single golfers, groups of 8, and everything in between. Most people dropped off after 9 holes, so we played the second 9 pretty quick. Overall, it's a fun course to get some swings in and have some beers on the course. Not the best to practice putting but a great spot to practice wedges. Don't know if I'd play again but I had a really good time regardless. read more

Anyone who leaves this place a bad review is trippin' I, on the other hand, was trippin' and had a grand ol' time. Technically I was microdosing, but still... I don't even golf and I passed by and was like, "what the hell." And I rented clubs and played by myself. Only lost one ball, and even made a par on a hole! When I said I don't golf I mean this was maybe the 4th time in my life I'd swing a golf club other than a putter. But it was great fun. The course is beautiful. The sun shines warmly. The people are friendly. The bunnies sing songs. The geese dance along. It's just grand. But in all seriousness - the Canada geese don't give a flying F@$K - it's their course. Ask them permission to play through. It's the polite thing to do. read more

Yesterday I was trying to think where my favourite place is in Vancouver and I think the Pitch & Putt has won thanks to a visit today! Located super close to English Bay but tucked away enough not to be a main attraction (or at least yet as the weather is still iffy), the course is beautiful. The price is now $13.15 for a regular game and I believe the Twilight pricing is still the same (~$10). You have to supply your own clubs for the Twilight pricing and club rentals stop at 5:30. I was surprised that a ball rental is $2 while it's only $1.50 for 2 clubs. But then when we returned our equipment today, we were told that you can keep the ball and bring it back with you next time to avoid the paying the fee again. After driving range sessions a couple of years ago, my friend and I were excited to practise our mad skillz out on a course that didn't involve a windmill or require a golf-cart. The distance for each hole varies from 40 to 95 yards and while par is 3 for each hole, we questioned out loud who could meet/beat that. But everyone moves through the holes fairly quickly and it's nice to see people not taking things too seriously if they have to wait for your 5 shots to sink a meter long putt. I definitely look forward to more pitching and putting, especially as a raccoon accompanied us on one of the holes today and I love them! A suggestion though: if the weather has been rainy previous to your golf game, ensure you wear proper foot ware as it gets super sloppy out there. read more

An almost perfect place to whack around a few golf balls on a lazy Sunday afternoon. I like this "course" as it is a bit on the shabby side, which makes me feel like a less crappy golfer. It is much better to show up on a random weekday when the crowds are less annoying. What an incredible location to golf! You feel pretty nestled in by the massive trees. Plus they provide great rebounds for your inevitable errant shots. Open year-round, summer hours are 730am - dusk, and winter are 9am -dusk. Regular 18 holes is $12.50, and $9.35 for the twilight rate. Yearly membership will run you $470, and a 20 round punch card costs $188. Club rentals are cheap at $1.50 read more

Aww one of my summer time staples. I always get so excited when its finally warm enough to throw on a sweater and head down. This place is close to where I live which makes it easier to get there before it gets busy. And it does get busy, especially on the weekends, especially when its sunny out, and especially when Vancouver wakes up and finally gets going at 1 or 2pm. I'm not a golfer so I couldn't tell you if this is a good course or a bad course, but I'm not sure how many people come here to golf. I think the best description of this is an outdoor day time pub. You are usually little backed up and can chat with the groups in front of or behind you or sometimes both and everyone is pretty cool in general. Now this is the part where I cover my ass. No alcohol is permitted on the course and if the marshal catches you...well, not much might happen. Now let's be honest, there are so many beer cans in the trash here that homeless people make a point to come down and go through the cans periodically during the day. If you show up and its pretty busy, I suggest maybe skipping the first 3 holes or so or starting on the back 9. It helps move play along a little faster. When you get there you can buy balls and tees and rent clubs or you can bring your own and save like $5 total. Admission is $12.50 and is great for a whole afternoon. All in all it takes like 3 hours and its a really nice afternoon. You get to see a lot of wildlife, like the aforementioned homeless as well as raccoons, and skunks, and squirrels. Oh My! No one cares if you're bad at golf, it's a pitch and putt, which means no hole is longer than 100 yards, so don't worry about it. A quick reminder though: even though there is drinking and often long wait times, be courteous, don't be loud when people are hitting (some people do like to practice golf) and always offer a beer. Our family loves to play this course, we bring a few of our own clubs in an executive bag. I do not recommend using their equipment unless you are a beginner and want an excuse for your game. The prices aren't high if you consider that you're golfing in the middle of the greatest park in North America. Dogs are not allowed on the course despite being allowed on leash in all other parts of Stanley Park. It's not challenging for a serious golfer but would still be a beautiful course to play. For an average golfer it is a lot of fun and just a stunning location. We like to lunch at the tea house after a round. read more

First his course despite coming regularly to Van city for over a decade. Went at 8 am as it wouldn't be busy. With a pitching wedge and putter, it was $17 all in. Bring your own balls. No required dress code. You just cannot be naked. First the equipment was crap but then I have great irons at home and my game still sucks. In other words, it's not the equipment. Second watch where you are walking as there is goose poop everywhere. Luckily my ball didn't land in any. The course is extremely small with holes ranging from 50 yards to 100 yards. My short game stinks so it was good practice. Overall an easy course with pretty fast greens so be careful. Upkeep was pretty good for a public course BUT I hate having to hit off an artificial mat! At the end of the day, great course to work on very short game but make sure you check the bottoms of your shoes for poop after. Will play again. read more

Last weekend I headed out with a buddy of mine, and had a go at the Stanley Park Pitch and Putt for my first time. I must say, the Stanley Park Pitch and Putt is really great fun, and a solid little course. You can do some good work on your short game here. I had read some reviews before heading out, and it sounded like the vibe of the place would be quite laid back with some of the 'participants' somewhat 'blitz,' but the people we were following were solid/fast players. This is a shorter Pitch and Putt than Richmond (where I frequent) but being in Stanley Park with the old growth trees, there is no substitution. Some of the greens were quite sloped which I like, compared to Richmond - dead flat. I will be a regular. Staff is super friendly. read more

Showed up here with nothing but my credit card and within 2 mins of arriving I was playing golf in the legendary Stanley Park and had a marvelous time. Yes, paying a few bucks for each of the clubs I rented was probably more than it should have been. Yes, paying a couple bucks to rent a golf ball for a few hours is somewhat silly. But being a business visitor to Vancouver, expecting not to swing a golf club over the few days I'm here, and being pleasantly surprised to find this amazing course in the middle of the park... it's difficult to complain. I think I paid a total of CAD $22 for what ended up being about 2.5 hours of fun on a gorgeous day in the park. I struggle to think of how I could spend that same amount of money better. Course was slow at times, but good company and great scenery makes waiting a couple minutes at the tee box area quite enjoyable. A true gem in Vancouver that will only get better once the nearby brewery opens soon. Thanks to all the staff and patrons that make it such a special and welcoming venue to enjoy the long Vancouver summer days in such a picturesque setting. read more

I love this course but this year it has gotten super expensive. There are no longer 2 for 1 coupons in the Entertainment Book, balls now cost $2 each, clubs are $2 each to hire, tees are $1 each. Great for locals who already know to bring their own old and tired equipment, but a rip off for tourists. read more
