I had a sofa two recliners cleaned by Stanley steamer. I was quoted to 211.00 as the price for the cleaning after the job was done. They said it was 306.00 because they used a portable cleaning machine. I was never told about this, very bad communication. The technicians were good. They did a good job, but the whole issue is not being told that the price was a lot more than quoted. I think this is very unethical. We never use this company again. read more

Stanley Steemer came out to clean 3 bedrooms of carpet. I was prepping my house to sell. I have no sense of smell, so this is a little delayed. The guys that came were friendly, but I have had several comments about the carpeted rooms smelling of dog, however i added the deodorizer to my cleaning to make it smell fresh and clean. I have also since made my own cleaner and scrubbed the carpets there were several large stains left, I got more of the stains out than they did. I feel like I wasted my money. My realtor was here for pictures the day after the cleaning and she noted it didn't smell like it was cleaned at all. I have used Stanley Steemer in the past and it was amazing what they got cleaned out of my carpets, I am very disappointed. read more

Came today & cleaned our HVAC ductwork. The guys were friendly & very efficient. They came in, explained what they were doing, went to work & communicated with us the entire time. They told us what was in our ductwork. We have recently had popcorn ceilings removed & much of the dirt in the ducts was from that. Stanley Steemer was hired to clean the carpets at a vacant townhouse so it could be listed for sale. Access was through a lockbox and the entry was without a problem. When finished, the front door was left unlocked and wide open. I will never use them again and would caution anyone else from trusting them in your home. read more

Stanley Steemer helped me make my garage sparkle! The floor of the garage is finished but needed a good cleaning. Stanley Steemer came out and used their equipment to really make a difference and I was so pleased with the entire floor, but especially the corners that had built up grime. They arrived on time and did a good evaluation of our floors. Cost was significantly more than on line estimating tool calculated. House was totally empty so no issues with moving or working around furniture. House had just been painted so floors were vacuumed and most loose dirt cleaned up. They did not attempt to vacuum up any small items or debris/dirt that we missed. Wood floor cleaning was just ok, still dirty in corners and along base trim. Stuck particles not removed completely, we had to go back and scrape off several locations. Carpets cleaned up as expected but no efforts to work out prior furniture marks/indentations which came out fairly easily with a brush after they left. Laminate floors had dirt in corners and along base trim and several areas with stuck on "stuff" were not cleaned and had to be scraped/removed after they left. Tile floors cleaned and grout sealer (additional cost) done well except they did not clean inside laundry room closet, which we didn't notice until we started to fill it. Hose marked up fresh paint in one room which we did not see until carpet dried. Overall a fair job but not worth the cost compared to other cleaning services we used at previous properties. read more

After spending close to 20 minuets on the phone going over in great detail that I had a small condo with ceramic tile that I wanted steamed, unit in total is only 600 s.f. only wanted area of unit to be cleaned was about 300 s.f. excluding areas that were occupied by couches tables, bed, dressers, night stands and chairs after explaining this I was assured that my total charge would not go over $100.00 they were running a $99.00 special, was advised that she would notify the service men and make a note in their paper work, the whole point for the 20 min. phone conversation was to avoid any misunderstanding and not to waste their time or mine, well when they got to my unit, they said they did not know anything that I Was talking about, said it would be $218.00. They out and out lied to me and wasted their time and mine if more people would speak up we could get rid of theses kinda businesses, they do this in hopes that you will just except this and say go ahead, this is corporate America knowing how valuable your time is and knowing you will circum to these types of practice STANLEY STEEMER YOU GET A NEGATIVE THREE RATING!!! My family and myself have been doing business with Stanley Steemer for a good while now, and they would set up a time and come, never have they not come. Well, this time we scheduled to have the guys come out for a cleaning from 12-5p, (in which was already a day off from work for my hubby and me-it was our daughters 1st birthday-we planned her 1st beach trip). I receive a courtesy text message saying it would be close to 5 PM that the crew would come, but i responded, "...that's cutting it extremely close..." considering i've spent my entire day at home waiting on these people to show up. I opted for the following Saturday; and the whoever text me said we'd be the first customers, they showed up at 8:30 AM! The first appointment is at 8AM! Needless to say, this company did not offer any kind of a discount, no any apologies. We won't be doing business with them again. Nope. Simply put. Get more help if needed, my Lord. It's always a busy tone...cmon now, after 30 calls, over the course of two days, someone should answer the dam phone. Guess they are fired before they are hired! Each time I have been extremely satisfied with the results...they have just finished stripping my floors of built up cleaning products. I really thought they were ruined until Bruce came by and did spot stripping just to see if we could save them....we were both skeptical but the finished product is just like the floors were new... of course I was thrilled. This review was written on 2/19/16 under the Charleston SC location, as there was no listing for the Myrtle Beach location at the time. Here it is: Bruce and Dina have owned their Conway, Myrtle Beach franchise since 1986. I had never used their franchise before, but had Stanley Steemer come out many times over the 16 years my wife and I lived in Dallas, TX, as we liked the hypoallergenic results. Stanley Steemer is the first carpet cleaning service to earn the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America certification, removing an average of 94% of common household allergens from the carpet they clean. It is a tough competitive business, though, with all the "chemical" carpet cleaning services out there. The two man team (Alfredo who has 11 years experience with S.S., and Travis) showed the professionalism and experience only a good franchise owner can teach. Keeping employees that long (11 years) is an accomplishment in and of itself in any business these days, IMO. Besides doing a quick and safe (no damage) job as I requested, I asked Dina to tell whomever she assigned to me, that they not try to suggest other services they sell, this one time, as I was in a hurry to get many things done, due to going out of town the next day. I knew that the carpet would take time to dry,due to the fact that we had many errands to get to that day before we left. Alfredo and Travis actually did as they were told, even though, they probably earn extra money by educating carpet cleaning customers to a potentially valuable opportunity, and then they made it easy to pay for with any credit card I may have. I was so pleased with the overall experience that I tipped each of them $5.00, which I had never done before with other S.S. employees. They also got out a number of old stains (one creosote petroleum based stain was greatly improved to my satisfaction) even though I hardly ever vacuum, and had never professionally cleaned this carpet in 8 years due to "out of state" family challenges. Before they came, we were considering buying new carpet, but now we feel we can get more years out of it. We've bought mats to cover the extreme wear areas that no carpet cleaning service can fix, and this should extend the life of our 8 year old carpet even further. I should tell you that my wife and I spent a half day before S.S. came, making sure that all electrical wires, floor lamps, floor heaters, etc. were out of the rooms to be cleaned. This speeded up the whole process, and benefited us, as well as the S.S. crew. The less obstacles they have to deal with, the better (and quicker - 1 1/2 hr.) the job they do, as they don't have to move your "stuff" out of the way. We also opened all window blinds with the louvers pointing downward for the sun to get on our carpets. When they were done, we turned the heat up in the house, and put two floor fans on, and pointed them down on the carpets that were just steam cleaned. These things made our olifin short fiber carpets be dry in about 3 1/2 hours! We were thrilled, as that gave us more time to get ready to go out of town the next day. Bruce and Dina have "slip and fall" insurance for their crew, but my wife and I don't, so walking on dry carpets is also a safety concern for us. read more

Needed vents in house cleaned. Called the Stanley Steemer on 501 in Conway. Sorry to say that the young lady who answered the phone was not interested in helping me. All I wanted to know was how they would be cleaning my system. She said they would explain all that when they got to my house to do the work. Kept telling her I just wanted that explained to me BEFORE I had the work done. I finally told her that I would just call another Stanley Steemer, that I am sure someone ELSE could help me. She said fine. She did not tell me to hold on she would have someone call me, or anything. She was fine with me just calling another company. The progress of someone calling me and explaining that to me would take maybe what 2-3 minutes. I'm sure this place has lost lots of business because of the customer service person answering the phone. Customer service is everything with keeping and building your business.
