Quick service & details about the project I needed to have done. Michael was very helpful in explaining how the order of operations works for the technical issues I had with my laptop and desktop computer. I didn't feel overwhelmed by the amount of information he provided because he allowed me to interject with any questions that I had during our conversation. Which was good for both of us to have clarification on what to expect as the end goal . My printout was easy to read due to our in-depth communication therefore all I had to do was agree & sign and I was on my way to my next appointment. Great place to go for tuneup or computer viruses that needs to be removed professionally and promptly. Personal service gave me peace of mind. I wasn't upset when I left this place, but the more I thought about what happened..... So I went to buy a few office supplies. It took me a while to find what I needed, but I found it. I went to check out and there was a really long line. The employees opened another register, which was appreciated. After getting through a few people they closed it. Then he came back and reopened it and called me over. They rang up my items and I gave them my rewards card. No one reading this would know this about me, but I HATE rewards cards. As a consumer it is a slap in the face anyway I think of it. The only good part about them is the discount, but basically it's telling you that you're not valued as a customer without it. I don't carry keys. I haven't for years, but I have to carry a stupid card for every store I might go in that day, week or month? Just value everyone as a customer and don't overcharge us because we prefer to remain private and not give you all of our personal information. Ok, rant over. I could keep going, but no one cares. So I give him my rewards card. It had not been activated. Instead of them using a store card to give me the discount, I was told to activate the card, call some number, then I'd have to come back to the store with my card and receipt for a discount. NOOOOOO! What will happen now is you can keep my extra $2 I would've saved and I will not shop at Staples again. Is that worth $2 Staples? To me, this is the ultimate way to say I'm not a "valued" customer. read more

This Staples is utterly amazing, the print shop is so great. The staff are super helpful. I never thought I would love a Staples so much.

I had a very large project I had to do in a very short amount of time. When I arrived, there was someone to help me at the print shop. She was extremely helpful and capable of doing everything I needed her to do. This is unique, as I travel the nation and find it is difficult to find help at most print shops. I appreciated all of her help. I also appreciated that everything I needed to compile my presentations was available for purchase. read more

Wanted to give a great big Shout Out for Jesse, in the printing department. She really embraces the ideal "customer service personnel". I have used this printing service several times and I am always more than pleased with the service because of Jesse. She listens to what I am attempting to do, reviews all my information, and gives me perfect prints of my work. She was patience, super professional, and mentally and emotionally engaged in her occupation. She gave me the impression this was not 'just a job ' for her but a career choice that she not only enjoyed but was invested in. Hats off to Staples for hiring her!! read more

I gave two stars because this location generally has the supplies that I need. However the level of customer service that is provided leaves a lot to be desired. For whatever reason there's just never enough people working, or in the print center a lot of times people are just over there chatting while there's a line of people. In the years have been going to this location, every person that has worked in the printing center has had the worst attitude, & I am a very patient, and polite person. I have worked in customer service for many years. I just cant seem to understand why the attitude. And I really hate to write negative reviews, but this has been consistently, everytime I have been here, which is a lot. I am just going to go to Kinkos, much better customer service. read more

I work down the street, near Duke Regional Hospital, and this is where we get all of our office supplies. We go there for everything from pens, paper, and printer ink to office chairs, bulletin boards, air fresheners, and break room items.We've also used their copy center. The prices seem reasonable, and we end up saving more with our rewards card. The only (minor) complaint I have is that the staff could use some customer service training. The people in the copy center have bungled a couple of orders either because they genuinely did not know what they were doing or because they did not listen carefully to my request. There are also a couple of chatty cashiers that don't know when to end the pleasantries during the transaction and let me go. I'm standing there with a basket full of items, a three foot long receipt and I need to get back to the office. I don't have time to talk. They're very nice people. They just need to learn when to say "Thanks for coming in, we'll see you next time!" But, overall, it's not a bad place to do business. read more

I ordered an ergo chair online for store pick up for my child who is relocating here for school and the ETA to the store was Friday. I wasn't arriving in town until the following Tuesday so I was concerned with how long they would hold my chair until sending it back. The gentleman I spoke with (unfortunately I don't remember his name - but whoever you are - thank you very much) assured me that they would call me before that would ever happen. The following Monday, I track my order and see that it is still in the 'ordered' stage when I was expecting it to have already been delivered to the store. I called and spoke with Paula who was very helpful and told me she would find out from customer service what the hold up is and let me know. The next day I call again since I hadn't heard from Paula (I figured she was busy) and when I explained the situation to another gal that Paula was going to call customer service - she said 'Paula isn't supposed to call customer service' and I was directed to call customer service myself. Once I hung up, I saw that I received an email about my chair and it's expected ETA. THANK YOU PAULA for going above and beyond and taking care of this for me even though you weren't suppose to do that. I also saw today that I had a missed call from staples - likely someone wanting to inform me my chair was ready for pick up. I read the other reviews about bad customer service but Paula gives excellent customer service. Thank you so much for helping me get this chair in time!! read more

Go to spot for any and all office supplies. They do a good job of putting related items close, but check to make sure you're getting the best deal on items that are "conveniently" placed by one another, i.e. storage box, and hanging folders. Staff is friendly and always speak. The 3 stars is for their outdated POS system. If you go first thing in the morning it's like their computers need to warm up and are slow in ringing up orders. This particular store is also in need of a makeover. Even from the street the exterior is drab and uninviting. read more

Recently I tried to return a defective set of earphones to my durham store. Unfortunately, I bought them just before going in for surgery so I was returning them one month and 4 days after purchase. They would not take them back. There is no sign posted about return dates. I did not change my mind, the earphones do not work. I tried to email the headquarters but they are in hiding I guess because I couldn't find any way to do that. One more reason to order from Amazon, I guess. read more

No one is particularly nice or helpful here. Everyone working the registers was less than eager to help and moved about with no sense of urgency, leaving many customers standing in line even though they had few items to actually check out. A quick trip for some stamps took 15+ minutes. read more

This is the most poorly run organization in the entire world. I ordered "next day" Christmas cards and it took over a week to get them printed. The manager seemed to not care that it put me way behind and offered no apology for their delay. I will never order cards or even shop at this Staples again. read more

This Staples location has been going downhill very quickly. The past 3 times I have been in the store the products are not always stocked (many empty hooks on the walls and empty spaces on shelves). Sometimes I have stood near several employees having a personal conversation, waiting for them to realize a customer would like to ask for help, and then never acknowledge there is a customer needing help. Tonight I stopped in to pick up a few things. I walked the aisles for at least 15 min. looking for items I had wanted to purchase and saw online. I was not able to fine one item so I went up near the register and waited until the cashier had finished with a customer (there was also another employee standing nearby). When I described the product they did not seem to know what I was talking about and then one of them stated "we don't carry that in this store". I thought that was odd since he did not even look like he knew what I was talking about. I was curious about the lack of the store being fully stocked the last few times I had been in so I asked "Is this store closing" and I explained why I was asking. To my shock the guy at the register said "It looks this way because all of our associates are useless". I asked "what did I just hear you say?" and his response was first silence and then "we are trying to handle the issues here". I have no idea if the person that made these statements is a manager but to say that to a customer and also in front of another employee is totally unprofessional and unacceptable. I smiled, walked away and put my 3 items I was going to purchase back on the shelves. I will not shop at this Staples again. Very sad at the decline of this store as I used to go there quite often. I would rather drive an additional 20 minutes and go to the Office Depot where the store is fully stocked and organized and the staff is very helpful. read more
