Would definitely recommend for data recovery. I had an external hard drive that was not working that contained a lot of important files and information. Other places were going to charge over $300 for the job to be done. CPR was able to restore all the files and provide a flashdrive (free of charge) all for under $150. All I have is wow. The first experience was great. My husband did not want to upgrade his antique Apple SE, the original model. Apple no longer stocks parts for these so it looked like a new phone was inevitable. Friend told us about CPR and an hour later and $80 we walked out with a fully functioning phone. That must have been 6 month ago. Then I started having trouble with my port and came in. First the ( wish I got his name) guy did a little repair for FREE and ask me to see if that worked. This business made my day today. Had a cracked screen, called to see if they had one in stock or did they need to order one. They had to order the screen, and it arrived late the next day. So today I ended up driving to the wrong CPR cell phone repair shop in Brier Creek (I'm relatively new to the area) When the Brier Creek shop didn't find me in their system, it dawned on me what I'd done. They said they had the screen avaialble , but I said NO! lol, the other shop ordered the part for me, so I was obligated to go there. These two shops are a bit of a drive apart, but I had the day off. I get to the correct shop, (this one that I'm writing the review for- I triple checked ) and after a short wait, the man (didn't get his name) showed me that my screen was in fact, NOT cracked. It was the screen protector. !!! Now I'm really feeling inept, but he was sooo nice, and kept tell me sorry. Sorry? I'm the dunce here today, and a dishonest business may have taken advantage and not told me and done an unnecessary replacement. I brought my Android Samsung phone in for a screen repair. I was desperate because my screen had randomly turned black and I could not get the display to work. I could not access my phone and was about to leave town so I really needed to get my phone fixed. This was close to where I was and since I could not gps other options, I was stuck with this store. I was charged $483 to fix my screen. I was told the extreme price upfront however I had no option and no phone to look at other places. I was told that this is relatively standard and that the store was not getting much profit. Today as I look around, samsung themselves would fix it for ~$200. Other stores are around that price as well. Although the customer service was great and the man was very nice and polite, I do feel taken advantage of. I did really appreciate that the service took less than 45 minutes but the price was outrageous especially considering I have a burgundy phone and a black screen was put on. Again I was informed of this upfront so that is alright but the price of a black screen cost even more than of the burgundy screen that my phone is. I paid a lot of money and now wont even be able to trade my phone back in. I was desperate in the moment but truly wished I had searched around. read more

The 2 people at CPR in Durham put TWO different screens on my phone and NEITHER WORKED. The best part? He wanted to keep the money - $261. When I asked him why it didn't work well and I needed to press so hard on my phone for it to recognize the touch - he said the screens are GENERIC and it may "not work as well" as my original screen. In other words, they install crap screens on your phone so they can make more money on the back end. In the end, they DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR OWN WORK and they DO NOT ISSUE REFUNDS. read more

I went to CPR today with my son. The repair guy quoted us $70 for the repair then proceeds to ask my son if he wanted a screen protector they have them for $20. My son says yes, he tells us it will be 40 minutes to repair. As we get there to pick up his phone, My son goes in to pay. He comes back to the car with the receipt. Prices are different then what he said they would be. So I go in and say can I ask you something Can you help me understand why the repair says $89.00 when you stated it would be $70. He tells me I heard wrong he said $79.00. I said No I'm sure you said $70 but this receipt say $89.00 so either way not even $79. He tells me he would never tell me $70 and I didn't hear him because my communication is wrong. I clearly tell him I know what you said So with you saying a different price than what you actually charged on my receipt I will no longer do business with you. He said No come back I know what I said but since you say what you said I will give you your money back. I say Sir No I'm leaving and I will not be doing business with your store anymore because you clearly say one thing and charge another. I leave out the door and as I get in the car put on my seat belt he comes storming out the store. I say Sir no need to follow me I have said what I needed to say you clearly are argumentative with me a customer and it's very unprofessional. I don't need you to say anything to me. He said Mama I know I said 79.00 but it's a communication error with you. I said I heard what you said he said maybe you didn't understand because of my accent. I think this business is terrific. I've been here four times for damaged devices and each time CPR gave me fast, excellent service. They're also affordable. Replacing an iPhone battery, for instance, cost me only $30. The last time I went, my busted iPhone required new parts, some of which CPR even provided gratis. You can wait while they do the repairs. CHECK THE WARRANTY IF YOU HAVE A PIXEL--there are licensed retailers that might be able to fix your phone for free. They are the only ones that have genuine Pixel parts and if you get your phone fixed somewhere else it will void the warranty. I brought in my Pixel 3 because the screen was cracked. Took 2 hours to fix and cost me ~$110. Just 2 months later the entire screen and digitizer came apart from the phone, it was a total mess. That's when I discovered the whole warranty/licensed retailer thing. Luckily it was still under warranty and I fudged it to get it repaired for free. The people at CPR are very nice and the customer service was great. Just the actually repair was a disaster for me. read more

You pay for what you get. Computer Services has the cheap prices and the cheap services to go with it. I took my computer in to get the laptop keyboard replaced because a key was broken. Told me that they'd call in 3 days if it exceeded expected costs or had problems. After not hearing from them five days later, I called and it turns out they couldn't find the replacement keyboard they needed for my model (which is fine). What isn't fine is that another key wasn't just broken, but completely rendered useless in their investigation. The man said a chair ran over the key! Also the casing that surrounds all the keys was loose, and when it fell out, I was shocked to see cracks and dents on the keyboard case. If you're going to mess with the keyboard at least keep it close to the condition it came in as. Still had to pay full price 30 bucks despite this. You pay for what you get. read more

I brought Mr. Omair my Mac because I had spilled liquid on it and needed the top case replaced and other portions cleaned. When I first arrived, he was kind, reasonable and had a quick turnaround time. As I got my laptop back, I noticed that some parts were loose and other parts stopped working so I needed to take it back in. Needless to say I went back and forth several times to get these issues resolved, and though I didn't pay anything additional, it was time consuming and frustrating to take it in multiple times due to the initial problem. In the end, Apple still found liquid and when I brought it back to Mr. Omair, he said it must be from another spill. He is not a rude man, but as the customer, I didn't appreciate being accused of something I know didn't happen. I initially went to CSC because of the cheaper prices, but next time I'll pay more for better repair and customer service. read more

My first time here; it was recommended by a friend. (Skip to bottom for TL;DR) I dropped off a Macbook Air today. Mr Omair greeted me and was friendly and seemed knowledgeable about what was going on. My problem: I knew there was slight liquid damage on the solid state drive (i opened it up and looked) so I dropped it off to see if the liquid damage messed anything else up (aka the hard drive interface on the logic board), or if a new drive would fix the Mac back to working condition. I knew everything else was in working condition because I was able to use a USB flash drive to boot the computer. They said they'll contact me on Monday about the prognosis. As a student in debt, prices matter to me. The diagnostics is costing $30 which is a very fair price (other places I've seen range from $35-50). They're also open till 6:30 which is great for those coming after work. So far, so good. Will update once the process is complete. UPDATE: They called me on Monday as promised. But, from the diagnostic testing, all I found out was that it needed "Cleaning" -- which is some sort of error message that's given by Apple's Service Diagnostic tests. I'm kind of disappointed as my only concern was whether or not a new SSD would bring the computer back to working condition. I was told that more diagnostic tests could be run after cleaning the computer (I think that involves using some chemical solution). Unfortunately, cleaning it was $100. So the only answer I got out of it was that it needs cleaning -- nothing about whether a new hard drive would work or not. Here's my problem with this. 1) I told them all I needed to know was whether a new HD would fix the problem or if there was a problem with the hard drive interface, and I was told a diagnostic test would tell us what's wrong. But that wasn't the case. 2) My options were to having a working mac that just needs a new SSD, or sell a broken mac. It would have cost me $130 for the diagnostics + cleaning + more diagnostic -- just to find out if it would work. If it then did work, I would have to buy a new SSD for $100-$200 depending on the size. It would be much cheaper for me to buy a new SSD for $100 and just plug it in to see if it works myself. If it didn't, I could return it, and then sell my mac. if it did work, I would have only spent $100. TL;DR I knew my macbook air had a problem with just the SSD or possibly also the interface of the SSD on the logic board. I needed to know if a new SSD would fix it. The diagnostics said it needed a cleaning (costing $100), and then more diagnostics could be run after which would tell us if a new SSD would work. Pros: Very friendly staff, cheap diagnostic costs. Knowledgeable. Cons: I had one question for which the diagnostics gave me no answer. My money would be better spent self testing a new SSD than cleaning it for $100 and then buying a new SSD to test it. read more

Absolutely terrible service. I took an Ipad 2 in to be resurfaced, not only did they break it and have to order more parts during the repair, but they returned it to me with air bubbles and a touchscreen that will not register a touch. So now what i have is a broken ipad. They also knicked the power cord during repair according to them and even if i get it resurfaced again it cuts off on me constantly. Literally tap it to touch something and it cuts off. They refuse to honor their 90 day warranty and have told me to "see them in court" so I will now be filing in small claims court. If you don't want to go through all that don't visit this horrible business. Rude service, refusal to fix their mistakes, refusal to honor their warranty, and very slow. You would do better throwing out your device and purchasing a new one. Also it claims to be apple certified but after contacting the real apple they say this certification is some online course that means nothing, don't trust it. Don't use this service unless you want a terrible job done, broken devices and a huge headache. read more
