Staples is an.. experience. It's a good option if you want convenient and cheaper print materials. They can do a bunch of different stuff. However, you pay for quality, so because it's cheaper it can be noticeably lower quality than going through a professional print or graphic company. I've come here for a couple print projects and the workers are usually always nice and helpful. But they aren't as detailed oriented as they should be- I asked the girl to print 2 sets of 9 postcards double-sided. She printed me 9 thinking each side counted as one- like how do you not know that when you working in printing? Then later on I realize one of the cards wasn't even there so I had to make another trip just to get that one- should've double checked right when I got them so let this be your confirmation to do the same. As far as office supplies go, they certainly do have a wide set of options. Albeit, some of it isn't priced super reasonably. I am not going to pay $50 for a calendar journal when I can get it at least half that price most other places. I'll also say at this specific location the other workers can be really uncomfortable. I mainly go there for print things so I don't interact too much with them, but have overheard and walked through conversations they have with other customers and they can just be really rude and unapproachable. They don't want to be there and make it known. You can also do Amazon returns here and international shipping, which I did not know but is very helpful. read more

So, when is the price, not the price?? Answer??? When you are at Staples. I needed to purchase an ink cartridge for an Epson printer. To make sure it was in stock, I looked at the Staples website. And, it's there...with a price of 36.99. However, in the store, it's tagged at 44.99. CLerk tells me that if I can show him the web site, he'll adjust it, however, can't get the site to come up on my phone, and there was a line in back of me. I thought this was illegal...and at the very least unethical...technically, the internet is advertising...nothing on the web page for the items at Staples tell you that the price is online only. So, if the website (an advertising billboard) says the price is 'X' then the company should be selling it for 'X' NOT 'X+Profit'. I called and chatted online with the company (two different people), and they did nothing. read more

The manager steve is very rude. I have heard issues about him from others, but today I experienced firsthand how terrible he treats people. He treated me like a dumb lady who didn't know how to read. The way he spoke to me was very insulting, let alone unprofessionaI. I will be figuring out who to contact regarding this ongoing situation that seems to not be getting handled from whoever is above him. This behavior is unacceptable, especially in a "leadership" position. I suggest avoiding this staples location if possible. read more

I went to the Lakeland Staples ONLY to pick up an Amazon package from the locker. I have never done this before and asked Mgr for help. She ignored me. I asked her again and she said she couldn't do that. I tried on my own and wasn't able to. On my way out of the store I asked her WHY she couldn't help me and she just SMILED at me. Is this the new DEI customer service way??? I went to my car & my husband figured it out. I went & got my package and asked the Mgr for her name. She told me to "get out of her store". I looked at the employee she was talking to and he said "get out of my store"... What has happened to Customer Service? This has never happened to me before. Steven S., the manager is very rude. He needs to take a class on customer service. I went in to drop off an Amazon return and was directed to the checkout line for returns. I simply asked him if I was in the correct line since I had an Amazon return. He said I needed a label and I stated I have the bar code right here on my phone. He proceeded to escalate the situation and argue with me and then made the comment that next time I should read the directions on my phone. When I asked for a manager, he said I am the manager. When I got up to the register with the sweet cashier, I asked her if there was another manager. He said, "I am her boss." I told him I wasn't talking to him. He then asked me to leave the store. We received a confirmation email for an online order placed for Lakeland, FL Staples store pickup. I called the Staples store this morning to report a fraud charge on our credit card for $850. Item was picked up with our name listed as the pick up AND alternate pickup person. Our billing address and email were listed on the email. Obviously none of the information was verified at pickup or this person would not have been able to pick up. I called the store to let them know and the employee didn't care. Friday morning .. empty store Only the bald manager and floor staff in sight. Bald manager was kinda rude and not much of a help. The floor staff on the contrary was extremely helpful and polite. My cashier's was 3032087 and they, them, it can only speak using an obviously poor dialect as feminine as it, they, them is able too create. It, them, they had one hand engrossed with long colored & pointed press-on nails that I likely never would have noticed if it, them, they had not so rudely reached onto my credit card payment screen before I even had a chance to see what the display was asking. Horrible management (Steven). Came in to make 2 copies, as the only 2 copiers were occupied for over 15min I attempted to get 1 of 3 associates behind copy counter to make a QUICK copy. Was instructed by male associate that I would have to come back tomorrow to pick up 2 5X5 photo copies. When asked to speak with management Steven and informing him of the 2 individuals at the copiers, 1 just looking at his phone and the other scrolling through I asked if he could simply make 2 copies for me as we are a business next door. He instructed me that what I said was irrelevant in regards to the other 2 individuals at copiers and he was unable to help. Will now make a point of going to Office Max and although business is only a few feet away I will not patron this establishment. Poor excuse for management. Corp. My current car charger was ran down to the wire. I didn't want to deal with crowds so I stopped by Staples on the way home. This was also my go to spot because I am a rewards member and earned a $5 off coupon. I would definitely recommend joining their rewards program. It is free to join and they send random emails with deals and coupons. However their prices are not worth the value of some of the products. For example, while browsing I saw a basic 1 inch binder for $7 when you can go to other stores and get the same thing for $1-2. This was the same for the planners, ink pens, and other office supplies. However I was able to get what I came for without it being crowded or waiting in lines which was a huge plus. read more

So, I have been a customer at this location for quite a few years. And in the last year I have watched this store decline in customer service. It's been quite irritating. I've walked out several times Ultimately it's the managers fault because the staff has not been empowered, practically helpless in their ability to help. The copy center PARTICULARLY has been terrible. There is always one overworked associate while everyone else, including managers won't look you in the eye Bc they don't know how to provide services there. Very very frustrating and I've used competitors more than not. Today I came in looking for a particular printer. Ready to be let down and disappointed. AAAAAgain! And what a change! I was shocked. Staff was SMILING! The manager Corey helped me right away! He knew exactly what I wanted and where it was. He was so efficient and knowledgeable But the BEST was Sidney! Wow! What a professional! Pleasant. Helpful. Funny. Knew what I was looking for immediately when I couldn't remember the name of it. He even sold me a 2 year warranty on a printer and I NEVER buy them. LOL! He upsold me so effortlessly I thanked him! Sidney was so personable and yet professional. Very mature balance. Wow! Is all I have to say! Whatever you all are doing- DONT STOP! Managers need to remember that your staff is only as inspired, as energized, as helpful and eager as you are AND as you lead them to be. I'm sure you have more work to do, like we all do, but keep it up. And please please please cross train all your staff and managers to jump in and help in the copy center! This is a good-sized store and very clean. Finding good help must be a problem for them as you can never find anyone on the floor when you need them, or when you do, they haven't a clue where something is or about the technology they sell. It is further frustrating that they put things on great sales (like 25 cent index cards) but they sell out the first day. I am always frustrated that they "bury" them in hard to find places and when you get there, the space is empty. This does not encourage me to return. Parking lot is a pothole mess. I have had a good experience with their copy department--reliable, prompt service on both two-sided copying AND inexpensive plastic signs. 12/2012 update. They have improved their pricing to NOT always be higher than competitors. I am not pro-stores that have "cards" that need swiping for bargains. Good help is hit or miss. Employees are often too social in this store to be of much help, IF you find anyone on the floor. Their parking lot is like a third world country--beat up and impractical. Absolutely love this store and its staff. You are greeted as soon as you walk in the store. Been here 3 days in a row and every time I am there the Staff goes above and beyond to assist. Robert / Samea were very professional and knowledgeable of what the are selling. I will definitely be back to purchase a new printer. Susan (Copy/Print) is the best. She absolutely went above and beyond as I was having problems with my printer at home and needed something for my daughters project to be printed as soon as possible.
