I am writing a review for Staples. What is this world coming to? When you've spent your entire paycheck on Adobe software and printing supplies, hoping and praying that your creative savvy will get you an acceptance letter to a top MBA program...then yes, I am allowed to write a review for Staples. In all seriousness, I have to commend the managers and staff here for being a tremendous help with respect to the "creative" portions of my applications. There sales where the prices of my software and little Canon Selphy printer were competitive with NewEgg*. The custom printing department was also a tremendous help when selecting card stock and helping to field such a one-off request. I couldn't even find a hobby/gaming shop in the city to help me, but these guys did. And when I couldn't find ink cartridges for my Selphy? A sales associate gladly led me to CMYK to my heart's content*. When I was an idiot and bought clear contact paper instead of white? This place is constantly experiencing turn over. Obviously management and or corporate clearly do not care. Because of the turn over it is consistently short staffed. Guys...staffing staffing staffing with proper training and management. If ya can go somewhere else or meditate before walking in here! Heavy energy for sure. 1-15 update; This locations manager responded thanking me....it's good to know at least they look at these reviews....so I dropped off a set of Architect plans to have copied..... Called them 430 pm....the person at the copy center had no clue....told me he was just a Tech and that the person who does the copys will be in at 5 to start and that I should come back today at 8am...I went to the copy center at 915am......and yes of course they were not done...a very polite, respectful sales associate asked another sales associate if he knew how to run the machine to do these prints for me....neither of them were trained in doing so......I totally understand and validate how she felt having to tell me "no"..... So what do we have here......two sales associates that really want to help and really want their location to do the business,,,,however because of "staffing and training" a customer was forced to go to Office Max! *" I don't know"---creates pain for the employee! * " I don't care"-----created pain for the client * " I don't know and I don't care----creates pain for both This poor woman and her fellow employee we're clearly in pain as I walked away on my way out to another store.... Was treated like I had done something wrong in the store when my prior visit I had spent over $100. It's ok if they don't want business that's consistent that's not my problem being a company going bankrupt i have spoken to the head of staples north east and I am assured the problem will be nipped in the but and the employee whom was extremely unprofessional for her position as store manager that it struck a nerve how someone so incompetent and looking at a small picture not the big one. Sorry to say but steer clear of this place they have nothing in stock ever and their online prices don't match in store either very very horrible service not quite sure how they are still in business? read more

I really need to go to Staples on Crompond Road in Yorktown but when I go they have a lot of things for the office and even some snacks and the atmosphere is okay. BUT They totally screwed up going in and making copies now you have to do it all yourself whereas before you would have the help of someone behind the counter today that someone a "black young lady" was very obnoxious rude arrogant and was on purpose making me look like a fool in front of other customers just because I did not know how to operate the machines . I kept telling her I'm not used to this and she kept yelling in front of other customers if I follow her directions you can do it it took me 20 minutes to do the copies where is if she would've helped me and been a little bit more pleasant my experience would've been better. I could tell you one thing I'd rather drive 10 miles away and go to another Staples then go back there. read more

Out of all my siblings (there are four of us), my mother chose me to accompany her on an early morning Black Friday trip to this Staples (yes, I know). While I was expecting a terrible time, with people clawing each other for computers and scattering office supplies to the wind, that did not happen at all. Upon arrival, there was a spread of Dunkin Donuts coffee, bagels, and donuts that they provided for customers who were waiting outside the store. As a college student, I understand the value of free food, so that was awesome. At the very least, I could munch on a strawberry frosted donut while people torn each other apart for a crappy PC. But inside, it was neat and orderly! Deals on electronics were clearly marked and laid out on special tables or in large bins at the front of the store. There was a line for customers to receive tickets for the computers specifically from the front page of the Black Friday advertisement. A kind employee helped my mom and I figure out that she should not be in that line, got the computer for her himself, and then took time to help her choose the warranty. The line for check out was slow, but it was also clearly marked and regulated by another employee. They held our computer behind the register until we were done shopping. Ordered my banner September 28th....guess what? It's still not available. First reason- ran out of outdoor vinyl. Second reason- Machine is faulty. Today I was given a third excuse- they ran out of ink. Seriously? I needed the banner for this past Saturday. I could have purchased a cheaper, better quality banner online but I was in a time crunch and was excited to learn about staples' store pickup. Now I wish I just purchased the banner online. I get mistakes and I know sometime's a store can accidentally run out of supplies, but now I'm being given the run around. AVOID THIS STORE! This will be my first and last time ordering from staples. read more

Do not go to Staples for copying. They charge .775 per page, even if it is a large job. Go a little further to Kinkos where it is .15 per page! Also, if you have copies that are going to be mailed, they copy everything on 20 lb paper rather than the normal 16 lb paper, so it will cost a lot more to mail. read more

The manager or assistant manager has a huge chip on his shoulder. I have been going there for years and ordering online from them for years but after going there for a job interview and meeting the manager who interviewed me plus the rude employees in the break area I was glad I didn't get called back. Seriously, there are so many other places to go or order online no one needs to go in there and get treated like garbage. I went for a job in the printing area and all the guy did was carry on about how stressful the job is and how horrible it is to work there. Um, hello? This is who Staples has there? Wow. Just wow. Line full of people and there's what I assume to be a manager behind the counter on her knees printing signs and did not acknowledge any of us. Had to wait for another associate to come over to help any of us. Then another kid came over and ignored all the customers too and started boxing up printer cartridges. read more

It seems that more and more name brand items are being replaced with generic "Staples" brand merchandise. Not always the same quality.

If I could give 1 star I would. I am sitting in my car writing this because that's how pissed I am. Brought my computer to have a fan replaced Monday. Mike talked me into buying a new computer (which I needed anyway). Said he would transfer all from old to new. Called me 2 hours later saying he needed the original cord because it wouldn't turn on. (Staples doesn't have HP cords they can use?) I brought the cord in, the computer wouldn't turn on. I said he should switch where it was plugged in, he said no. I told him if I got home and turned it on I was gonna be real pissed. He tried another plug...IT TURNED ON. Now he tells me to sit while he goes and grabs my new computer to start the process. I see him talking to his boss. Comes back and tells me he can no longer do any of it. Are you effin kidding me?!? This is the computer repair department at staples and you can't replace a CPU fan and transfer info to the new computer I just bought? You suck read more

The shipping services are great! I also love the friendly woman at the counter who keeps a smile no matter how stressed out and busy it gets. I stood there for about 15 minutes one day waiting and I had to give her credit for keeping cool, taking care of customers, answering the phone, and doing it all by herself with a smile! read more

SERIOUSLY ! When you thought it couldn't get any worse! I bought something online and had to return it so I went to this Staples (my mistake.) When I got to the cashier her name is Alisa, she told me "Oh! An online return? This will take about an hour." Really I said. Well at least 40 minutes said she. Now it was obvious she wanted no part of this. Furthermore, she went on to say; "I'll have to call somebody and it will really take a long time." No problem I replied and I took out my trusty smart phone stop watch and hit start. It took all of 4 minutes 36 seconds. The assistant manager (Dawn) had to approve it and while she was there I told her what happened and my question was; "Is this the type of employees you have, ones that spend more time trying to get out of work than just doing it?" Dawn (another idiot and that's being generous) rolled her eyes and walked away. I then had a talk with the manager who said he was sorry and will get this place ship shape in no time! REALLY ! ? ! It's January 2nd. No big sales going on at Staples, no crush of customers, so there's no reason to accept lousy service there. One checkout line open, with a nice but clearly not-up-to-handling-customer-issues fellow checking out (supposedly) a growing line of customers. No other sign of another checkout line opening. At last, the manager (Patricia?) showed up and another line opened, but the manager got cranky about being asked to make change for the newly-opened line. Hey. I understand cranky. *I* was cranky. But I don't think managers should air their issues in front of the paying guests. Makes me crankier. Staples has managed to drive out all the mom-and-pop office supply stores in the area, and then gives customers lousy attitude. Gotta be another answer. Hey. Quite possibly the WORST staples ever. Called to see if they had an item, I was told they had several to choose from. When I arrived there were display models but ZERO in stock. I waited on line to ask for help (since I couldn't find a SINGLE person in the store to help me) and after about five minutes of the cashier paging for assistance, he finally flagged someone down who had no desire to help me.. they then informed me that they don't ever carry those items in stock and they could only be ordered online.. I wasted and hour and half of my time on this nonsense and still came up empty! What the hell are they there for???? So unless you want ink or pencils... don't bother! read more

today August 28th 2020 I went into the Staples Yorktown Hgts Store to copy some paper work. I had asked how to do copying and was told either at service center or self service. Chose self service because price was more if done by service center. Never using their copy system I had asked for help. The manager of the service center her name, Allie, says sarcastically "self service" meaning do it yourself attitude. Of course hearing that statement I told her I was not sure how to use it as blank paper came out instead of the copy. She was rude, screaming across the store, and it became an argument. Her and her associate were nasty as can be!! If this is how Staples runs a business they will definitely lose customers!! Asked for a manager phone number phone was answered by a child. Person called me back and was not helpful. Staples needs to have customer service and employees who can help a customer not these young people who as I watched her was on her cell phone not even helping other customers. Do not order prints here ever. I should have learned my lesson the first time. Prints poor quality, the staff could care less and is not helpful, and you will probably leave feeling upset. I have been shopping here for years. Everyone has always been very nice and helpful. Today I walked in there and they hired a completely new group of employees. The cashier seemed lost. When I asked her about the store she rolled her eyes at me. Then I asked for the manager. Obviously the woman a few feet away from her gave me a nasty look and walked away. The new manager. I'll take my business to Danbury or Walmart. Staples is not cheap and poor treatment of customers turn me off. I'll let my friends know as well. read more
