Ashley kept us feeling safe with masks and the building had good safety protocols. She made both my tween and teen feel comfortable and did a great job with all of our hair. I booked an initial tweeze session with Shante but got a wax. I should have confirmed before I…read morelaid down, but the service provider has a schedule of what she is doing so I don't feel like I should have to confirm. I also expressed my sensitive skin worries, before the service and she acknowledged that, but still used the wax anyways. The skin above and below my eyes was red and peeling for two days after the service. When I asked about it, all I was told was to put Benadryl on my skin. Cortisone near one's eyes is not a great idea from a medical standpoint. It was too late to stop her as I didn't know what she was doing til she pulled the wax linen strip off. I thought she was still using the template when she was touching my face. I also had to ask for the color fill although it was included in the price. $55 is very high for the factory like service I received. I felt as though my service was not individualized and everyone going to Shante gets the same exact procedure no matter what you pay for. The only reason, this was not one star, was because it was very easy to book on the website. Other than that, there is no positives with booking at this beauty Lounge. Many places do a much better job, and cost 20 to 30% less. I definitely will not be back.

However, a couple of things really get to me. 1) Every time I go I feel immense pressure to buy product. I understand why they suggest the products, but I can't afford a bunch of expensive skin care products. If I could I prob would, but I truly can't justify it with my budget. Even when I express my financial concerns I feel I am still pushed to buy and feel guilty saying no. 2) The last time I was there (3/8/25) I had scheduled a moderate peel. I somehow ended up with a diamond peel or something like that for almost double what I was expecting to pay and wasn't made aware my service had been changed until I got to the register. I think some where during the conversation about what I was there for the Esthetician changed the service on me in a subtle way so I didn't know I was essentially agreeing to a more expensive service without being made aware. This was very upsetting as again, I am on a budget and I felt tricked. I came to the conclusion that purity is a better place for a person with long term skin goals and a large budget to dedicate to it. Not a person who just wants an occasional peel or facial. At least that's how I have felt after my few times there. For that reason I will not be going back
