I called Star City this morning because our shower facet was not working. My husband had replaced a part around 4 months ago. The good thing is someone came this afternoon, 6 July to check out our issue. Edwin, who has been to our house before was the tech that came. Edwin is always professional and listens to the customer. He explained to my husband another part had cracked and that he could pick up the part himself. We signed up for their service plan,old guy said how great of a deal it was. They claim how you are number 1 when on it which isn't true. We called for some simple plumbing issues,the guy they sent out was Mr. arrogant,acted like he was Gods gift to master plumbing.We had our kitchen sink faucet tightened which still doesn't work,a drain plunger adjusted in one bathroom faucet,and a new shower head put on which leaked when we went to use and it leaked where he connected. Great plumbing. He wasn't even at our house for an hour,275 dollars, that was supposedly half off for show up and 15 percent off bill.Their little service plan is really a screw job,you give them 21 dollars and change a month which I paid a year to get screwed by their inflated prices and incompetent workers. I have checked other companies as I hope you will. Their non discounted prices are lower without giving them 21 plus dollars a month. Beware. read more

Our furnace died in the spring, and as the weather started getting colder we decided to take the plunge and get a replacement. We got three estimates, but in the end had the best experience with Star City. Amy walked us through every step of the process and even provided some advice on financing options, and was just great to work with. We put half down and scheduled the appointment, and they were able to work us in very quickly. The installers, Rick and Lance, showed up promptly at 8 a.m. on the scheduled day, and when they left we had a new furnace and AC. They were respectful, efficient, and friendly. They hauled off the old units and did a very good job of cleaning up after themselves. They walked us through using the new equipment, and made sure all of our questions were answered. The equipment seems to be top notch, and everything looks perfect. After the sale, Amy came back and walked us through getting a rebate from Black Hills Energy, which was a huge help. Top notch, professional service all around. Everyone really impressed my wife and I. I wouldn't hesitate to work with Star City again. read more

Star City was great! My furnace went out right in the middle of this terrible winter and they came out the day of to inspect it. Liam was right on time and explained everything to me in terms I can understand. After learning that I would have to replace the furnace, Aaron came out to chat with me about my replacement options and broke it down into a few different routes I could take - never feeling salesy or pushy about which option was best. Star City ended up being able to install the next day and even left me with some space heaters to get me through the evening! Curtis was prompt and friendly and called me to let me know when everything was done. Star City really went above and beyond - not just providing good service but also really going in depth to explain everything to a first time home owner. I wasn't happy with the poor communication I have been experiencing with this HVAC company in Lincoln. Last week, I called to make an appointment for servicing a condo air conditioning unit. The phone rep made the appointment for the following week at 1 p.m. The next day, another phone rep calls and asks if I would like servicing today based on a cancelation instead of next week, I called back and said I would stick with the original servicing date at 1 p.m. She then decides to start arguing with me about the 1 p.m. timeframe, saying they don't give times just estimates. I then told her the rep yesterday told me 1 p.m. and if that isn't the policy, a phone call to let us know someone will be late would be considerate. She decides to say good bye to me to end this conversation. Today, I get a phone call from the technician that he cannot service the condo based on this being a "multi-unit' system and says someone at the company will call back for rescheduling. I then decide this is not the company for me and started making calls to other HVAC companies in the area. An hour later, Brandon the technician calls and tells me he is with a multi-unit tech and they diagnosed the problem to be a relay coil and want to know if I want this fixed. I then asked how they were able to get another tech there and why they didn't call me when they knew another person who was available would arrive? He then blames the company for not calling me and wanted to know if I wanted them to fix the issue? I had them fix the problem and they did a decent job with the repairs on the premises. My major complaint was the total communication issues this company has. They are competent at their craft but someone needs to follow a simple protocol on calling with precise information as most professionals would follow. What a great company. They worked hard to try to get my old furnace to last a little longer two years ago December. It gave out and they sold me a new system that has been extremely efficient. Then a week ago they convinced me to have my ductwork cleaned and purchase an air scrubber. I was hesitant because of the price but OMG. The best thing I've done.
